This is amazing! I'd love to see more tutorials covering your post process like this. I've been learning real estate-style photography to capture recording studios and have found that a lot of the traditional RE techniques leave studios looking too bright and sterile. I'd be particularly interested in any tips you might have for photographing rooms with almost NO natural light. A lot of the spaces I have to photograph are lit by nothing more than LED puck lights in the ceilings 🙃

What do you call this black sheet that you are holding? How do I google it? Blackout drapery/cloth? I need the same thing for my photography to carry with me so that it has to be compact
Hey Matthew, I‘m curious about your take on color. I noticed that your color profile is Adobe color, which isn’t the greatest in representing true color. Also wouldn’t it be possible to fire one flash shot, to get accurate color and then combine the flash/color layer with your final ambient layer in luminosity mode (with some masking). I would imagine you could get the best of two worlds. Your moody ambient shot + accurate color?
Hi Matthew. Can you make Video with Tilt shift panoramas with 24 tilt shift. I have seen the work of other photographers and they use this focal length to minimize distortion and make beautiful panoramas.

I dont mean it to be harsh, because i like the pedagogy and all the stuff you do for comminity, but dont you think this is a lot of work for a curve a blenif and a mask in photoshop. I mean all the time you spend with the sheets etc could be very closely done in post prod within a minute or 2. I understand the tutorial side and some exemple may be more relevant with more direct light coming from the wrong side but here i feel for the end result just a bit of curves (or levels or whatever you are confortable with in photoshop) would do exactly the same end result.

Wouldn't it be easier using bright/contrast layer to reduce bright in some areas? I know it's not the same, but could save time in shooting.

Just a black plastic sheeting you can find at hardware stores. Nothing fancy

Hasn’t really ever been an issue for me. Adobe color seems to work fairly well and/or more importantly…seems to work fairly well for my clients 🤷♂️

I don’t really use my tilt shift lenses to stitch panoramas together very often. I wouldn’t be a good person to teach others how to do it 🫤
