John Noakes died today, he was my hero as a kid growing up. He inspired me to have a very adventurous young life. Looking back now I realise what a brave and enthusiastic man he was as well as an excellent performer. He was also very funny. Sometimes you miss aspects of that when your a child. Mr Noakes Sir, you were brilliant at what you did. RIP
man. getting a copy of my beano comic was a hightlight of my saturday morning back in the '70's. dennis the menace was my favourite. i even joined The Dennis The Menace Fan Club 😂. Thank for posting. I watched during the John Noakes, Valerie Singleton & Peter Pervis years. RIP John. The good ole days of telly :)
This is from a live edition of Blue Peter broadcast on Thursday 2nd March 1972. Also on that edition were Egyptian weavers and their tapestries, a film called 'Underground At Night' which featured Peter, and Fang the Ferret.
I would have loved to have heard his thoughts on the Eagle comic (with Dan Dare) as it would have probably been his type of read and so a person recollection of when he too was a boy.

John was always my favourite Blue Peter presenter
Look at shep looking at him LEGEND
Tbh, Shep looked like he was yawning! John and Shep were such a great double act. So many memories. The world is a duller place without them.
I remember this episode. thinking of you today John as you pass on to the other side.
Would loved to have met John and Shep in their prime. God bless John and thank you for all the fun when I was a kid 😎😎😎
