It could be legal if he is being investigated for fraud, for example. An account could be frozen pending an investigation without giving a reason.

It’s happening to many people, the banks are out of control and acting as cartels. They do not think they have to follow UK laws or FCA regulations of anti competitive natures. It’s happening to a huge amount amount of elderly people who retire overseas. Barclays did this to me and had the audacity to say I was in breach of their T&Cs but when I asked which ones they stated they could not say which ones for security reasons. No one should be above the law and they need to be made accountable!

I know someone with hundreds of thousands of dollars not in any bank and they built a house and live quite rich and fanciful without a banks help. Thats why tradeable currency (Cash) is a beautiful thing. The Canadian gov't ordered the freezing of the accounts of some of the Trucker's Convoy protest participants and even of people who simply donated a small amount to their cause. They got away with it and now the Brits can too.

My bank called me in 2014, having wrongly decided that according to EU rules I was a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) and wanted to close my account. The Prime Minister, all MPs, all senior civil servants etc. etc. etc. can be classified as a PEP. It is up to the bank to decide if someone is a PEP, not the EU, so in this case they are simply trying to shut Farage down so that he doesn't pose a threat at the next general election.

If this can happen in a country like Canada, it can happen anywhere. Hundreds of Canadians had their bank accounts frozen for weeks because they contributed to the trucker convoy. If digital currency takes over you can lose access to your own money just because you said something your neighbor did not like.
