  • This is how I experience the world as I ride around solo on my faithful R1150GS: in silence. No talking, no voice overs, just the wind, the engine, and the occasional music when I'm in the mood. The wild Mani Peninsula hangs off the very south of the Peloponnese. Come with me as I wander through one of the abandoned mountain villages of unique tower houses, visit the ancient death oracle of Poseidon, and wild camp on a cliff overlooking a ruined 6th CE Byzantine fortress, this episode on

Some amazing camera shots in this one, you're very brave (and patient!) to set the camera down in towns to get those great shots of you driving past on the GS! Really great stuff 👍

The peace and tranquility of solo motorcycle travel, perfectly captured. I am now guiding tours for others in Europe, but I miss this.

Ferdia, this video is a work of Art. To hear your footsteps, the wind, the engine, the birds and insects, and the air pump is a sensorary delight. All while viewing the most gorgeous landscapes you have filmed to date. In the quiet, the stones in the structures popped off the screen. Not being told what is next, I saw it myself as the scenes unfolded. There was a feeling of mystery. I felt spiritual and peaceful. I have no words for the beauty of that sunset. Ferdia you put all you can do and all that you are into this video. This world really is UNORDINARY. And you made me greatful that I am here. Thank you for that. ❤ Joy

@@unOrdinaryWorld it was absolutely a perfect ending of my day watching this video before I'm going back to work... Really heavy energies, high pressure and uncertainity so I don't know but I found this video really perfect to calm my mind a bit. Thank you for sharing!

I'm happy you think so, Daniel! I've been having fun taking the time to try new things. I'd like to do another one like this in the future, but I have to wait until I find the right place. Few places can quite simply speak for themselves with only visuals, but I felt when I was there that anything I could say would simply be superfluous. It's just one of those special places... ☺️

Wow! This was simply captivating. You're kind of a road monk moving through your journey in silence with your trusty steed. I'm always impressed to see how people whose individual identities are lost to the ages formed piles of rocks into blocks and assembled them into structures that stand (mostly) to this day. You have become a part of the history of the places you have visited even if, your visit was for only a brief instant in the long history of these places. The natural beauty that you caught on camera was ...is also breathtaking. I hope the unknown individuals who gave shape to those piles of rocks, had an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the places that they called, 'home."
You have inspired me to take a class on the history of Greece and Rome at the local university. It starts tomorrow (Monday).
