Thank you for returning to Hua Chenyu for a birthday reaction. That's so thoughtful! I always enjoy and learn from your videos, because I know you truly appreciate his creativity. And thank you for not being scared off by songs like 7P. I'm so tired of reactors being pushed to react to 7P or Fake Monk and never reacting to him again. He has many masterpieces, not just these 2! I would much rather watch reactors - especially voice teachers - review more of his songs and different styles, like you have, and come to 7P when they know him better, like you did. I have been criticized before in making a comment about when one would recommend a performance that they may not fully “Get” especially very deep subjects and then they don’t react any more. You are so right. I’m glad to have first found him on Singer 2018 and saw his performances in order, When it came to Fake Monk i appreciated this masterpiece even more and then the theme of his growth till the of the episodes. Then i found “The Next” and really appreciated his rearranging skills. from then on watched all his interviews and shows, It was a joy to find out who he was as an individual and therefore understand why he creates music like he does.
The first part of the song where you said he sounded like a child was a Chinese nursery. I am glad you watched a showed the pre-stage interview. It helps to understand his state of mind when putting together a song like this. It is easy to see why he won. I think it is crazy the the production company & network get so territorial about copy right. They must realize that while "The Singer" is a great show, it had very little following or visibility beyond the borders of China until the 2018 season. Hua Chenyu's (and Dimash from 2017) video clips of his performances on UA-cam and the reactions clips to those performances really put "The Singer" on the map for the rest of the world. I don't think they fully realize the value that they get from the reaction video's. You really can't buy the type of notoriety these clips on UA-cam have brought that show. It is really stupid that they are crying copy right infringement (not to mention the hypocrisy since they are a Chinese related company). Getting back to Hua Hua though, I heard that the mother of his daughter is also a singer. This little girl may grow up to be a very very talented singer/performer.

The complexity of this piece of art and the philosophys behind it is so mindblowing , i can only grasp some of it at a time. The eternal circle of life. The duality of ying yang. The beginning starts with the end and vice versa. His torment and agony screaming out to you at the end there. Then the nursery rhyme again. Many points to a childish voice, to me its confused, numb, at a total loss void of feeling after the trauma of having lost yourself. Cold. Empty and emotionless. Then the process starts over. It reminds me of a poem i read in my youth.... «Today - in January - I hear outside a million panicking birds - and know even out there - comfort is done with - it has shattered even the stars - this creature at last come home to me» by Brian Patten.

His composition skills just keep improving, and he has found a lyricist that he can work with really well. This song is far too complicated for just one listening. (The mantra in the background is HuaHua's voice pre-recorded.) There is no consensus what this song is about, though it has kept many of us busy for some long stretches. Feel free to give it your best shot. Everyone else has. Only HuaHua and the lyricist know for sure.
Years ago HuaHua wrote a song called For My Future Child. He and some other single young men stayed in a house and took care of some toddlers for a few days. HuaHua was very good with them and was inspired to talk about whether he would want children of his own. He said he would and that he would particularly want a daughter. Now he has one--English name Judy. She's just over a year old. Her mother is also a singer, who goes by the stage name Diamond Zhang. Her birth name is Zhang Bichen. He has a lot to celebrate on this birthday tomorrow.

So happy you finally got to react to 7 personalities, I really was looking forward to your reaction and of course very much enjoyed it! As you said it's performance art and such a powerful song with the music and lyrics, truly a masterpiece! The Singer version is my favorite as Hua can give us such an awesome stage performance with the light show and this costume... I was dumb struck throughout the performance but when he released the cape OMG! HuaHua not only composed the music but also did all the harmonies himself, so amazing and unique!
A theory is that in this song, Hua is going through a conflict and tries to deal with it serenely according to his religious beliefs, but the anger builds up and he wants to fight back, he passes through all stages of trying to dominate a building anger, leading him to madness...
The duet with Li Yuchun, who was one of the judges in his Superboy competition, in this same Singer episode was awesome too, HuaHua did his magic in rearranging Li Yuchun's song and brought it to another level.
I would love a reaction to HuaHua's New Year 3 songs. The Gala was held in Haikou in the very same stadium Hua held his 2019 concert, he was given the best stage, plus he was the only performer got to sing 3 songs. It's one of the very few performances Hua got to give in front of an audience in 2020 and he looked so happy!
