Why doesn't Eiht get mentioned with the Snoop's, Cube's, Short's and E-40 as far as West Coast royalty? He certainly has the discography to be included
I think it’s because his music never played in clubs like that. He was on a major label but always had an underground sound. His music was more on the serious side and never really went pop enough to be mentioned with more mainstream artist. He’s definitely a legend tho.
MC Eiht and Spice 1 were low key two of the coldest from the West... they get lost in the conversation when people talk about West Coast greats... NWA, Ice Cube, Dre, Too Short, Ice T, Snoop, etc... DJ Quik is another one who doesn't get mentioned enough.
Imo the 1st 3 ALBUMS by cmw : IT'S A COMPTON THANG, STRAIGHT CHECK 'N 'EM/ & MUSIC TO DRIVE BY, are stand alone! THAT COMBINATION OF EIHTS🧢 URBAN LYRICAL FURY & THE RIDICULOUS DOPE PRODUCTION, MIXING & SCRATCHING BY MIKE-T 👌⛑ IS DAMN NEAR UNMATCHED! MIKE-T NEEDS TO BE MENTIONED WITH THE BATTLECATS, SIR JINXES, FREDWRECKS, QUIKS, DJ POOHS, JELLY ROLLS,! westcoast producers etc.[ Of course all eihts ALBUMS are 🔥] but them 1st 3 DAMN!
Compton's Most Wanted should have definitely been signed to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records. Tha Chill was and is real tight with MC Ren. MC Eiht, Tha Chill and Hitman Sammy Sam & JT Money definitely should do an album together.
I called it Sinister Mob beats. Slip & 8 crafted a genuinely unique style & put key elements in place to paint a distinct descriptive picture of the hood. It was smooth, jazzy, bluesy, funky, mob figure like Italian/Sicilian like. Especially when they started having Willie Z play those cords & pianos & baselines. Man that sh!t was pure platinum & gold💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿! Shout out too Eihthype/1/2 Oz, X-factor/Bluestamp/Boomdoccs! Real CMW Eiht fan right here man! Ghetto Mafia too!💙❤💪🏿 Gangster Chronicles too! Shout out Big Steele💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I was so much of a Eazy E NWA fan I didn't even give CMW a chance now years later I decided to order my first CMW featuring MC Eiht album "We come Strapped" and played that CD for about a week straight. Now I have all of CMW and MC Eigh albums downloaded on my UA-cam music app account 💯💯
MC Eiht and Comptons Most Wanted were literally one of the best rap groups in the early 90s. They were overshadowed by NWA's success. Music 2 Drive-by and We Come Strapped are definitely my favorite albums in my top 10.
Eiht's style was more story telling, coming from the perspective of the hood. And he did it in a smooth way, he didn't yell it out like Cube. Eiht was smooth before Snoop. Eiht's production style was very jazzy and smooth as well. But in the end, it was Gangsta.
There's a total difference between NWA and CMW You see CMW they was real gangsters And plus they were bloods and crips. Now NWA on the other hand the only people that was from Kelly Park crip was easy and ran Dre cube yellow they're not from that era. But they did have something in common they did come through Lonzo Williams who was the head of the world class wrecking crew. That's the only thing they had in common and had a connection with. And plus you know NWA went through a lineup and so did Compton most wanted. MC 8 You had the chill mighty unknown DJ ,DJ slip And then you had n***** on The run members. NWA you had Arabian Prince you had cube yellow Dr Dre Eazy-E MC ren Yeah DJ speed and you had others involved.
You damn right we come strap top ten, When it comes to Gangsta Rap, Mc Eiht is one of my Goats…. His beats were legendary, I brought all that shit to Miami…
Man props to yall for giving Eiht his flowers. Do your self a favor and listen to that Driveby Ms. Daisy. One of the hardest songs ever made. Production and story telling, A1. Eight is one of the few artist with like 4 or 5 classic albums. Top 5 west coast artist from that era.
I love that description of how he approach his sound or him making music - Scarface, geto boys, bone thugs and master p had that similar vibe to their own approach of doing music
Mc Eiht is definitely a legend with classic albums...Wicked and B High seem to have great chemistry and I hope it stays like that...they genuinely like each other
CMW, "Music to Driveby" & MC Eiht, "We Come Strapped" are certified classics 💯

@@irandleIV Facts
Eiht don't really seek the limelight like they do.
Cuz the industry makes the face who they want to make the faces
@@irandleIVnah same story with Daz, they went independent after major success and never switched up their style.
One of the coldest to ever do it MC Eiht !!!💯
Im From Brooklyn , MC eiht is fire !! “ all about the money “ “ hood took me under “ fire
All for the money 💪🏿💯🔥

@@KtotheG never was a Quik fan , he was weak to me . Ice cube a beast . He’s in my top 5 .
@@bentheisraelite I can see you not really appreciating his lyrical prowess, but he was cold on dem beats. Real melodic like a J. Dilla.
@@KtotheG he was nice with the beats for sure
Wicked and Eiht both have an MC Breed (RIP) featuring.
GEAH ! 🎱
ALL CMW ALBUMS WERE 💯 RAW

"One time gaffled him up"...🔥 🔥 🔥
Yeah Wic is right on this one...Eiht was a bad boy on the MIC.
Compton's Most Wanted should have definitely been signed to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records. Tha Chill was and is real tight with MC Ren.
MC Eiht, Tha Chill and Hitman Sammy Sam & JT Money definitely should do an album together.
Compton Bomb is one of my fave Eiht songs. So smooth like champagne. No OE.
Bein raised a B-Dog I ain’t listen to much Crip music but CMW and Eiht alone was just hard! Couldn’t help but listen to it

Mc Eiht, living legend right here. Shot out from New York

DJ Slip also did a remix to Fat Joe's "Shit Is Real" in like 93/94.

Trill Talk
Eiht was in the Eazy Duz It video in the audience dancing. I think he was doing the Running Man.
We Come Strapped was very original but Music To Drive-by was the dopest
They was the originators of that Maybach music style of beats. Gangsta orchestra

Growing up listening to both NWA and CMW, was perfect.
Lol I like how the clip starts with MC Eiht saying "you get me". That's right up there with "geah" being the first word you hear.
Compton
