I disliked the Tasty Pastry Party game as well because it made SpongeBob and Patrick too unlikable. I was never a fan of the whole "Patrick eats anything and everything" gag after all.
That's the part I find the most frustrating about endless arcade-style games in general. Most of them don't have a win condition or quota for getting a good ending, in terms of the gameplay itself(or at all, if it has nothing to complete in the entire game otherwise), so considering the inevitability of having a kill screen, max time, and/or human limit, there's no proper ending. And by that I mean a static quota that lets you play afterward if you want/can, and not something like getting a new high score since eventually you will never get to have another one, even if you try to and the game still acts like it's possible. ("Does this even make any sense to anyone except me?" -Thomas 'TomSka' Ridgewell, paraphrased)
i remember being scared by the game as a kid, i never even played it because i was too scared lol. i think it was a combination of the music and the way patrick stares directly at the screen with his red eyes, he's not even looking at spongebob but at the player
I remember on Pool Party Pooper that if you feed Patrick as soon as the game starts, a glitch occurs that forces him into a corner, and for the rest of the game he won't be a problem
I remember playing Elbow Grease: Scrub Down for hours when I was a kid. I loved the Patrick plushie they used so much, I even nagged my parents into getting one for me! Thanks for the memory jog!
I remember some of these flash games I was obsessed with them Me and my brother would always go on the nick site and play a few of them all the time never got tired of them I just got reminded of them by even some of the ones shown in the intro nostalgia..
Oh my god, the memories flooding back. When i was very little (before the age of 7) i exclusively played flash games since they were the only ones i knew of.. And let me tell you, i played almost ALL of these and remember everything about them. No clue someone would have made a video about them, but i wanna thank you for doing so, lol
As a 90's/2000's Cartoon Network fan, I'm frankly kind of salty that SpongeBob alone got so many in one year and not any of those shows Like, I like SpongeBob too, and it was his anniversary year and all, but couldn't he share some of that effort with other cartoons?
2009 was the golden age of SpongeBob flash games I used to play elbow grease scrub down for *hours* as a kid, that thing was addicting The certificate at the end is forever burned into my memory even though I actually didn't know there was an event going on, I never questioned why some of the newest updated SpongeBob games all had that end screen
I’m starting to wonder how much of This is Pop’s music was original, only because I swear I’ve heard the music for Dutchman’s Deck Dash of Doom in (of all things) an unlisted Thomas the tank engine video. If they did use stock music, Im not criticizing it - the show did the same. I’m excited to see just how many flash games they made for 2009! 55 games just for the anniversary, that is devotion to the show.
5:24 the love hurts game for me when I was 6 was so obscure and I could not find it so I believed that I made it up but from what I remember it did not looked like this except it had better atmosphere with it being dark and low light as Patrick had glowing red eyes. I guess that was my imagination putting it to work
13:04 You have a list? 15:00 A book instead of pairs is actually a weird way to play Go Fish. 18:12 You utter a lot of random sentences, Luci. 23:39 I love this one! 27:17 What are you waving at?
OMG you unlocked a core memory with Tasty Pastry Party. I used to play that way too much when I was younger. I totally forgot it existed until I saw it here. I can't believe that was an official licensed spongebob game. It honestly feels like a creepypasta game.
I used to play these exact spongebob flash games all the time when i was younger on nickelodeon's website. Its just too bad that as the saying goes "all good things come to an end" and we eventually had to say R.I.P to adobe flash and the flash games as a whole simply because flash kept having so many security, technical, and maintenance issues
"Cook it and book it" didn't take place in Squidward's house. It was in SpongeBob's house, which he redecorated to look like the former's, like in the episode it was based on.
2009 will always be such a nostalgic year for me because of all this celebration. In the future I gotta do my own video on SpongeBob's 10 year anniversary cause there is so much to talk about. Especially the international events and celebrations.
Ah, man. I remember love hurts and Tightly Whitey Tumble. I think I played a bunch of the other ones like once each. Anyway, anyone remember the Fisher-Price IXL? I have a young cousin who had one, and there was a SpongeBob part to it. I looked it up and there was a disc you got, which you'd install onto the console via USB. I'd love to see a video on it, there's barely anything about it online, but someone uploaded all the files on the Internet archive. Dunno if it'd be easily emulated or if you'd need an actual IXL, but I heard the setup included an emulator.
I remember playing Deep Sea Surgeon at a cousin's house when the game released! Given that it's a surgery game, it's definitely one of the more unsettling ones, but at least since it's official, it's not one of those Elsagate atrocities. I just hope Polly Sparks doesn't overhear this conversation and get an idea!
I remember when younger I really didn't like Workinman's artstyle, Patrick and Spongebob specifically because they always felt weirdly off-model... Seeing Stinky Swagger on the video reminded me of the whole reason why it happened lol, Spongebob looks so unsettling and uncanny
Do y’all remember that Nick game console you plugged into the TV? It has a SpongeBob game, a Jimmy neutron, Timmy turner, it also had the guys that looked like Rae Sremmurd. Idk if y’all remember what I’m talking about but I remember playing it when I was in pre K in 2007
Holy shit I remember playing Love Hurts. I remember standing still one time just to see what happens and SpongeBob just stands there and watches as Patrick crushes him ☠️
Oh, do you remember after gameovers on a nickelodeon’s website there were bunch of pop-ups about “brush Spongebob’s teeth” or another This is pop’s mini games?
Oh man, Some of these I remember playing the most of while some of them I have no idea what they were. And wrapping 55 for a collection is definitely something. Also about Tighty Whitry Tumble, Wasn't there that one Image that was in the files for this game?
I like Modern SpongeBob and all, but some of these games (and some episodes on the show) made SpongeBob and Patrick way too unlikable. I feel that Tasty Pastry Party is a perfect example of where the franchise's direction was going. Having Patrick eat everything just makes him annoying... : /
5:22 That game scared me when I was a kid (yes I was scared by a Spongebob web game, if you were scared by the fly in Wormy you don't get to judge me). I found the music and Patrick's red eyes creepy.
I remember a SpongeBob web game that was called “monster” something (must’ve been island I think..) and the point of the game was these little mini games that let you deal with these monster creatures for example there’s a hill climb (or mountain climb) where it’s Gary but a monster and someone was riding on top of it.
another game i remember is a game based on a Pal for gary, its an angry birds styled game in which you launch shells from a cannon at structures with the pigs being replaced by puffy fluffy clones
ugh, i remember toy barrel peril. i could never get far in the game because the battery life of patricks eyes kept draining while i moved, not just when i took damage
22:006:0822:4524:1525:2526:2033:305:081:05 (i remember the certificate more as a You Win!) *I REMEMBER THOSE!!!* It feels so weird to see it in a higher resolution than they were supposed to play. i only remember playing these games once and never played again, i didn't even know that i played until it came out of nowhere an decade and a half later. Also, wasn't there another Gesundheit Geyser-like game where SpongeBob was running from the never-ending lava? it has a darker background and the only things you can see were the lava, barely visible seafloor, SpongeBob being so next to the lava that really you just have to avoid incoming obstacle, and the UI that i don't remember the details. That's at least what i could remember.
Because you didn't mention it, ghost slayer is ABSOLUTELY a reference to Ghosts n Goblins- SpongeBob being in knight armor, the first stage(?) being in a graveyard, and the chiptune music
SpongeBob's teeth decay fast.
SpongeBob loves krabby patties.
Heroin makes your teeth decay.
The krabby patty secret formula is heroin
That explains why the same recognizable Bikini Bottomites keep coming back so often
Also insert obligatory reference to "I love krabby pa-SPONGEBOB!!!" here
It's actually vegan
5:23 I never really liked the Love Hurts game, because it made me sad that you can't beat the game and therefore Patrick would stay angry forever
I disliked the Tasty Pastry Party game as well because it made SpongeBob and Patrick too unlikable. I was never a fan of the whole "Patrick eats anything and everything" gag after all.

Tasty Pastry Party doesn’t feel real, it feels like an ARG someone would make during their free time
Man I remember seeing those certificates and didn't understand them. I just assumed it was thanking me for playing
I thought the same thing.
The Game Over screen where SpongeBob bounces off of Patrick’s belly will never not make me laugh or make me feel nostalgic
I remember on Pool Party Pooper that if you feed Patrick as soon as the game starts, a glitch occurs that forces him into a corner, and for the rest of the game he won't be a problem
The patrick plushie and gary plushie in elbow grease scrub-down are the ty beanie baby plushies.
I've had the love hurts game stuck in my head since i was a kid, but i haven't been able to find it in recent years! awesome to see it mentioned
I remember playing Elbow Grease: Scrub Down for hours when I was a kid. I loved the Patrick plushie they used so much, I even nagged my parents into getting one for me! Thanks for the memory jog!
These old flash games music, just feels so nostalgic.
The music in Pool Party Pooper still lives rent free in my head to this day

Bro the nostalgia hit me like a TRAIN like I remember playing these on my mom’s old laptop when I was small asf. God I miss it all 😭😭😭
Bro, these Spongebob flash games have better continuity than the new episodes...
55 is incredible. Nick used to truly love their products, even with all the Flanderizing.

It's always a good day with spongebob. I especially loved the spongebob 10th anniversary flash games. Short, but sweeter than a glass of lemonade

I am of the firm belief that Tasty Pastry Party made me who I am today
There's something about 2009 that I love so much. Just all of the nostalgic things I like coming out in that year makes me happy ^^
Man, I loved these games. Seeing them again makes me think of simpler times.
As someone who didn’t have internet at home at the time, finding out about all of these games makes me both sad and happy
I remembering playing these games on my dad's old laptop and a computer we borrowed, brings back good memories...
"Cook it and book it" didn't take place in Squidward's house. It was in SpongeBob's house, which he redecorated to look like the former's, like in the episode it was based on.

7:52 oh my I heard that theme before! 😯 (From another SpongeBob game)
18:53 i have NEVER seen him do that. I always prioritized him and assumed the chomping meant hungry
I spent a lot of time playing these games back in the day. Elbow grease was probably the one I spent the most time on.
what a blast from the past, the spongebob cleaning game in particular is very nostalgic for some reason
2:31 isnt that the bfbb beach theme?
10:55 Believe or not, I once heard this song in another cartoon. It played for only a brief moment at the start of one of the episodes.
