With all the toxic shit people of that social class were using, it's most likely coincidental. It sounds fucking creepy though, like way to kill the vibe at every party you drag that stack of fucking spooky bowls to
Actually the glass armonica was invented by Franklin to make playing of the glasses easier. Before it was only wine glasses filled with water, which was very difficult to play. Robert Tiso right here on UA-cam does an excellent job, who I enjoy greatly, even if he re-records over himself. I have myself been repairing antique music boxes for years which sort of has a similar sound, and have enjoyed carillons very much and am still very much alive, so I don't think the arminica is really a deadly instrument. If anything it is very peaceful and relaxing.
Franklin shared a house in London with William Hewson, a young physician who gave informal anatomy lessons at home. Dissecting human bodies was not allowed legally, so Hewson would have obtained bodies by hiring “resurrection men” (grave robbers), who would smuggle corpses from the cemetery or snatch them right off the gallows. When Hewson was done with them, he simply buried his nine adults and six children in the cellar. Ben probably didn't take part in all this, but he surely knew about it. I've always imagined that his job was keeping a look-out for spectators while the anatomy gang brought the bodies to the house and lugged them upstairs. p.s. There's a busker in a suburb of Washington D.C. who sometimes plays musical glasses on the main drag. That's actual glasses, not a Glass Armonica (Franklin's name for his instrument).
I was certain you would report that glass harmonicae would explode into flying shards and impale everyone nearby. I was a little disappointed that that was not the case.
There is a tv show called Secrets of the Dead that talked about bones found in one of Franklins houses. One of the people who lived with him was believed to be studying anatomy. So it was likely the human bones were from corpses that were being dissected. Can't have the police knowing what you are doing with human remains so they were hidden in the house. Think about how long it would take to get good at it and the number of hours to practice to be basic level.
The first design was one tube with various sizes all blown into the one long tube. However, it wouldn't stop producing ectoplasm or either out of thin air. So design was changed to multiple glass bowls stacked.
Well done for the lively and entertaining way of talking about my beloved armonica. Nice to see my hands here and there in the video. Otherwise, to reassure people who would like to attend a concert, I still don't have too many psychiatric symptoms, after 35 years of practice so you should last an hour or two... 😂
The Hydrodaktulopsychicharmonica (thanks BlueCometDude) might have caused miniature seizures due to harmonics and frequencies associated with the natural "inner frequency" of human beings. A lot like you can break glass at specific frequencies you might break blood vessels.
*If you'd like an example of how haunting it sounds in the form of a song you've likely heard before, UA-cam **_Aquarium_** from **_Carnival of the Animals._* It's literally one of my favorite classical pieces. The sounds conjure mental images of fish darting around as well as delicately floating along the sea floor. It's incredible, making it all the more stunning that its composer, Camille Saint-Saëns, thought the whole suite would be a flop.
So is the….instrument what gave Franklin syphilis? 🤔 Deadly indeed! I think I will stick with the theremin for my creepy sounds for madness😂❤ Thanks as always Eskify, you never disappoint!
HEY! The bagpipes weren't meant to be beautiful, they were meant to be terrifying and haunting while being heard for miles in the open wilderness, and they did that well
They just don't want us to have control over such strong vibrating frequencies! There is literally no other speaker or instrument that can replicate this wave spectrum!
There are surely a lot of good things and also dangerous things you can do with it. But too much power in one hand. So they cut us off! Don't think they don't use it themselves.
Thanks for the posting. It is a good pitch for movie 'The instrument that sends you crazy" Maybe based on the life of Marianne Davies (1743 or 1744 - c. 1818).
I mean if you break the word down it shouldn’t be that difficult😂 hydro-daktulo-psychic-harmonica. Also, I think the deaths have something to do with the frequency affecting the brain

@Eskify making more than a video per year is a sight to behold.
The toilet uncloging factory must really busy.
“ That's called bullying.” that just got me.😂
The sound is like an orchestra…I never ever knew about this musical instrument! I’m 54!! 😬
When finding out about the glass harmonica, I was thinking "how the heck can an asthmatic be able to blow his breath from this?"
Anyone else actually like the sound the glass harmonica makes?
That one nutcracker song goes hard on this instrument

The Eskify Cult is here! We are proud whenever our creator uploads his content.
P.S: Nobody has tried killing with the Triangle yet.
I’ve seen it called an “armonica,” as well.
Also potentially lead glass but you'd have to play a hell of a lot for that to be a problem
I did not know Ben Franklin created it but I've heard it before. Lovely sound... Perhaps folks put off by it wouldn't enjoy a Theremin either.

Remember seeing that in a episode of Liberty's Kids.
I thought it sounded quite relaxing tbh 😂 I kinda like it

IM HOWLING!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂
Fascinating. Very odd. But I agree the music is haunting. It's a shame it was pretty much lost.
Time to bring it back
Personally, I like the sound. I also genuinely enjoy pipe organs though.
RIP to the 1st person who played the glass Harmonica to hear what it sounded like.
Wow, that's even scarier than the world's second most dangerous musical instrument -- the Aztec death whistle!
I actually own one of those. Every time I use it, it makes my office that much spookier.

Now there's something I can definitely turn into a story. I'll have to do some research.
It sounds like a theremin, I wonder if there are any complaints about the newer electronic instrument.
I have heard them being played at colonial events it is a truly beautiful sound.
It really is! Imagine before. And it’s still so pretty.

Colonial events?
Now I DEMAND a slasher film where people hear bagpipes as the killer approaches. Thanks for this. You've put this in my head now.

Awesome to see a new video! Thanks for posting, Eskify! Your videos are always interesting!
I appreciate that, thank you
Related unrelated fact: Glass Harmonica is also the title of the only banned animated film in the USSR. It's on youtube and quite trippy

I think this is the best instrument for creating psychodrama!
The glass harmonica it sounds so beautiful and yet so haunting it's wicked
I was certain you would report that glass harmonicae would explode into flying shards and impale everyone nearby.
I was a little disappointed that that was not the case.
As a person that plays two musical instruments I thought they were the only safe things in my life 😂
somebody uses the glass harmonica on a track now that's what I call a *KILLER TRACK!*
Eskify you should play the glass harmonica in your next video

OP is correct!
I just imagined a supervillain performing Chopin's funeral march on the glass harmonica

The instrument is used in The Aquarium, Carnival of the Animals, by Saint-Saens.
I'm pretty sure any musical instrument can be deadly if you swing it hard enough. And the bagpipes if you play them loud enough.
I enjoy hearing Eskify determined to pronounce this "hydro.." word lol ☺️ .
I also tend to open up portals to evil dimensions with the chord progressions I make with my midi controller

Seems more like a hygiene problem. Wetting your fingers before playing, meant transferring pathogens.
I heard about this instrument that uses propane to make it work from the 1800s now that’s dangerous too.

It's the effect the frequency has on the brains electromagnetic feild.... look into hemi-sync and the effect differnet frequencies have on the brain
