Amazing Leather Seat Transformation with LEATHERIQUE | E39 M5
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 сер 2019
- In this video I show you how I use Leatherique to restore the leather seats on my E39 M5. This was a very involved process, but absolutely worth trying out if you can justify the products and the time spent. If you have a car that is more than a few years old, this is definitely worth doing! The M3 is next!
Yes, this is a re-upload! I had copyright issues on my last version, so here is the latest one. Thanks for watching!

This is George & Krysti, Owners of Leatherique Restoration Products. Thank you for the review of our products. Been around almost 60 years. I use my bare hands to rub in the Rejuvenator oil (Says Oil because that was what people thought it should be back in 1962.) You can actually just spritz (spray bottle) the Prestine Clean on TOP of the rejuvenator Oil then wipe it down. This will HELP to drive the Protein s into the leather. ALSO, you do not EVER want to use a cleaner on Light Color leather first since you risk the factor of driving the dirt into the leather. Ever see a White Interior with a Grey tinge that is the dirt in the leather. As far as how often about every 6 months is a good rule on the Rejuvenator and I use the Prestine Clean whenever I just want to CLEAN up the interior, do not worry the Rejuvinator oil takes about 8 months to be totally gone in normal climates.
Perfect advice.
Awesome that the owners took the time to comment. Really must care about their product. Just bought some for my Audi S5, will try to apply it by hand.
Cool video. A few tips:
1. Cover your seatbelts with saran wrap before applying the rejuvenator oil. Much easier than having to clean up the belts afterward. Keeps them from sticking to the leather as well.
2. If you decide to do another round of RO, it’s best to do it after the initial application has been removed with PC (i.e., to cleaner leather). Adding more RO after dirt/sweat/funk has already made its way to the surface is kind of counterproductive..
3. After your final damp towel wipe down, immediately dry with another clean micro fiber towel. Be particularly careful with the steering wheel while doing this, as you can scuff/scratch the leather while damp if you’re too aggressive.
The middle inserts in front seats are ostrich leather
Love the music” Please don’t talk about me when I’m gone”. Just down loaded the song, thanks.
man that 10-18mm is crazy. I need one so bad!!
Nice! I think it looks great. I may need to do this to mine eventually. I love my leather but it is a bit hard so maybe this will help soften it up.
Beautiful M5, where are Madonna and Clive Owen ?
In the Sterling Silver
Planning to do this to my car today, wish me luck!
Mike B amazing! Oh you should’ve seen how dirty the water was cleaning it! Honestly feels amazing and looks so good, it almost looks brand new!
Guys! Thanks for watching! Yes, this is a re-upload because my original version had copyright issues. Enjoy!
Awesome video. Can you tell me what the song is for the after shots? Great remix
What’s up with the Scaggs Low Down remix lol, thought the song sounded familiar. As far as the leather, looks good. I’ll have to try the product out.
I did my wife's 2010 Audi S5 with the orange leather. I probably should have kep it on longer than 2 hours! Lol. BUT, it still turned out amazing. Next time, 24 hours!
The center textured leather in the door card is ostrich leather.
Dude this is amazing. Making me wanna buy some now! Surprised you didn’t move the rear seatbelts behind the seat. Did the belts get any oil on them? And if so, did it come off?
Also, do you plan to use Lexol as your maintenance product going forward after this?
Thanks! And I didn’t notice any oil on the seat belts actually. Maybe I just got lucky. I am not sure what I will use going forward because Pristine Clean is great by itself. I will definitely be using Leatherique on the steering wheel regardless!
Hows the p&s cleaner vs nextzett premium cockpit?
i thought that this leather was sealed with a vinyl coating? should there be a stripper or is that what this first application is? also, what about steaming to open the leather before any reconditioning?
4:49 LMAOOO sorry couldnt let that one go. but i gotta say nice video !
Watch Esoteric Care Care's video on Leatherique for a comprehensive tutorial, but this video is a good start.
I already watched it
I liked the copyright music in the first one 🤪🤘
Yeah...same here!
hi, I have a question for you, what smell does it leave?
I’ve heard it brings back the original leather smell. Looking to try it here soon
Modern day leather has a thin plastic coating. So how do the pores of the leather open up????
Automotive leathers have microporous polyurethane coatings that protect the leather while maintaining its desirable breathability that sets it apart from vinyl. Compare for yourself: sit in a car with real leather upholstery on a hot day, then sit in a car with vinyl upholstery. I'll be damned if you don't feel the difference; the vinyl upholstery feels hotter and stickier. Its the same story with shoes: wear real leather Sperrys for a day and then wear $10 Walmart knockoffs; your feet will be a swamp in the cheap ones.
Modern leather is still able to absorb this product and see it's benefits. The idea that the coating on modern leather makes it "waterproof" is false.
How much of stuff is used for one such thorough cleaning/oil applying? Manufacturer recommends doing this 2-4x year; would a bottle of both last as much? Because in the video it seems you apply it pretty generously. Thanks!
I don’t think I used more than 4oz of each product
I’ve been trying to find the last song in your video for over an hour, I know the original song, and I’ve found a super shitty remix thats not the correct one, I NEED TO KNOW
It's called "Fun Time" DJ Quads
Does this video really need the b roll intro? Waste of tome and data lol
Ethan K Are you that much of a dick that you needed to even comment?
@@terryslay1 a tiny one, yes^
Urethane coating on the leather does not absorb liquids. If you spill some water on the seat, if it does not soak into leather, neither will Leatherique. How do you get leather conditioner past the impenetrable wall of urethane? This is not a horse saddle that absorbs moisture.
Oto Godfrey i used this product and it made my seats lot more softer,i guess after some years that urethane is gone
Leatherique does get past the urethane coating. It takes time for it to penetrate i and that is why it is mandatory to let it sit for at least a day. Leatherique is composed of animal proteins, collagen etc unlike most other leather cleaners which contain oily chemicals which won't penetrate the coating. The longer you leave the rejuvinator to sit, the better your results will be.
@@IBANEZfil got proof Leatherique can get past urethane? I call bullshiy
Leatherique is the best stuff ever. It works on my semi-aniline Natuzzi sofa just as well as on my M3. There are many different types of urethane coatings on leather. The "Dakota" leather on BMWs that are very rough and hard have a much thicker layer that I wouldn't bother using leatherique on. The BMW Novillo, Nappa and Merino and other finer leathers respond very well to leatherique. The absorption time is only a few hours on my sofa, and on the M3 it's a few days. Best bet is to leave it on for a week.
Regarding the removal. I spray the seats liberally with pristine clean and use the brush they provide. Then I remove with damp microfiber towel. Final pass is another spray of pristine clean this time using a dry microfiber towel to finish. Love this stuff
Oto you are incorrect, watch Esoteric Car Care's video on Leatherique.
you did put too much man, leather should not be shiny.
It should be shiny. If it’s not shiny then I didn’t put enough.
@@ShiftedPerspective nop, go take a look at new car at any car dealer, shiny leather thats mean its not leather
@@ananmatai did you even watch until the end of the leather? the whole point of Leatherique is you pour on as much as you can, as the leather absorbs it up. When you clean it off as he did, it goes matt like brand new - again watch towards the end. I've brought back many old cars badly maintained leather to almost new condition with this stuff. This is coming from someone who's used Leatherique for years.
@@bme9071 i dont like shinny leather its make me slippery while driving, its up to you sir do what you want its your car not mine
No you still don’t understand, it’s shiny when you put the oil on, but when you finish the process and take the oil off, it dries in a MATT FINISH like brand new leather. Watch towards the end of the video and see how MATT the finish is.
