Planned adventure: trip around Europe by bicycle. There was also a failed adventure, hitchhiking 1.5 thousand km, fail cause my backpack got stolen, my fault needed to be more careful
The beauty of your content is that 1) I have no expectations, 2) it's surprising, 3) it's motivating and 4) it doesn't matter where it comes from. It seems like the stuff you enjoy doing and documenting, I enjoy watching, whether than was from an office or not. For more than 3 years now already. Wasted money? Perhaps, but I'd rather say "invested" money. The experience you gained from it and that's much more valuable. Keep going.
Absolutely the right attitude. There is often no way to know that something won't work until you try it and discover it isn't working. Then you learn from that and keep going.
This year thanks to you and some other creators inspiring me, I decided to go from couch to marathon in one year. I’m 26 so I thought 26 miles would be a fitting goal to hit before I turn 27. So far I’ve done a 5k, will be running a 10k at the end of April, a half marathon across the country in Chicago in June, and ending the year with a marathon in October. I legitimately have started from scratch and am super proud of the progress I’ve already made. I’ve lost ~15lbs and am up to 7 mile training runs. It may not be the most exciting story but 2023 for me has been a very different year and I’m so excited for the rest of it and the many many miles ahead of me.
I did the same in 2018, but in half a year. And till this day I have some heart issues that could be triggered then. I am not telling you that you should not do this. I. Telling that, please don't push it top hard for the first maraton.
@@kamillaskowski9492 thanks for the heads up. I’ve been pretty aware of my body so far and not pushed too hard. As the miles ramp up I’ll be sure it keep that in mind. Trying to do it in half of year seems pretty brutal. I’ve been keeping to a pretty consistent but gradually increasing training plan so hopefully it’s doable in a safe way. Hope you stay healthy!
@@bendoherty3129 it’s going great! Had to take about a month off due to a calf strain this summer, but I’m back at it and gearing up for the marathon! It’s getting close and the reality is setting in. I’ve now lost 45 pounds so far this year! It’s my first time weighing less than 200 pounds since I was 16! I still have my two longest training runs coming up before I start tapering for the race, but it’s been quite the year!
You hit the nail about being out and about. I love seeing you doing adventures and doing crazy stuff. It is very inspiring. Can’t wait for more content!!!
I feel you bro.. An injury literally rips apart all your progress and goals. And with the goals, also your drive and creativity. Hope you'll get back on track soon!
@@TheUnlazyWay Honestly, glad you got rid of the office - feeling obligated to use it was a definite drag. Hopefully you can get back to videos where you're having fun and enjoying the journey. You're one of my favorite channels and super inspiring!
I’m sad the office didn’t work out but I’m very excited for the future of this channel!! I’m running my first 100 miler at the Leadville 100. That’s my big adventure this year. Keep being awesome!
You took a risk, you learned something (probably a lot of things) along the way, and you made a decision and moved on. You didn't let it stop you; keep up the great work!
As someone who loves tinkering and building alongside athletics this video especially resonated with me! As for the call to action at the end of the video, I'm planning a couple adventures that could be up your alley. The big one is biking from Chicago to New York City camping and meeting folks along the way in June. Second is to plan and race a small scale urban adventure race in Chicago. Starting with a bike down it's iconic lakefront path, then paddling up the Chicago River, surrounded by the skyscrapers of downtown, and finally finishing with a run on the former railroad turned public trail on the 606. Hope you success or at least satisfaction in all your future endeavors!
Itreally sucks to learn these kinds of lessons the hard way, but I'm so happy for you that you know more about yourself as a creator and were able to take away so much from your experience. If it helps at all, sharing that it didn't work out, this sort of "dark side" of creation, is really inspiring. Not even awesome creators like you make all the right decisions all the time! Thanks for sharing this with us and I'm glad you learned things and are feeling creative again! Also, I'm really sorry about your knee injury. Injuries suck and I wish you as fast a recovery as possible :)
By all means, take full advantage of the fact that you have a job that allows you to go beyond four walls and look for adventures to have and stories to tell. This is still really, really rare and a dream job for many. Best of luck to you!
I appreciate how candid you are about everything, you never truly know what you want or need creatively until you take the leap of faith and try something new. Just keep it up man, looking forward to the upcoming docs! Also bombas does go hard 🔥
I'm happy for you figuring out what works for you! It's so tough when things don't work out the way you want. Keep it up! Looking forward to your new adventures
I've watched many of your videos over the last year. I already liked you. I already trusted you. Now, I really respect you. Thank you for your courage and your honesty. (And yay to getting outdoors even more 🎉).
Thank you. For the transparency. actually, the last video I saw at yours was when you just got the building and you were making your plans. Life gets in the way and you get too busy for the things that made you successful. Sometimes expansion does not happen on the outside yet this outside expansion sometimes cost so much that it forces the inside to expand and now you are larger. this experience will definitely be the reason you get back to work by without worrying about worrying about it. You’re one of my favorite contact creators and you inspire me into trying to keep up with my blog. I’m 50 years old so it’s kind of like you’re a son to me lol and I like to see you grow, good luck on the next chapter and I will try to pay more attention to the updates

It’s exciting to hear your ideas and looking forward to the two films coming up. You create great things, keep enjoying it!
Sometimes learning opportunities are expensive. Just have to remember that learning, however expensive it is, is always good. Thanks for letting us learn through you for free. I "wasted" 1 year of my life not studying enough during covid so I had to quit that school and basically lose all the courses that I did because they didn't translate to my new school. I'm still happy about quitting and finding a new path. Oftentimes you have to break what you built to find a better path for you.
Hello this summer I am riding my bike from Crested Butte, Colorado to the border of US and Canada! About 1,500 miles, self supported! Going on this journey for myself! Should take between 2-3 weeks

This makes so much sense, man! You made a perfect decision and the realization that has come from that is just such a great branding idea. It suits you tremendously and I can see how immediately the quality of your filmmaking improved in the two teasers you showed about freediving in Malta and the arctic race. I'd be happy to see a whole series of these stories! That's Netflix quality.
Hey Jonne, I am sorry to hear that you have to give up on your office. It sucks...I know it out of my own experience. You seem you've been very ambitious with the office...maybe too ambitious, wanting it to be perfect asap, spending so much money, energy and time into it? I am not here to roast, but telling you that I've been there as well and wanting everything asap. It taught me a lesson and now I am confident to say that I am starting my own business in May (maybe I am just faking my confidence, yeeeep). But one thing I can tell you for sure: I have been watching and rewatching your videos over and over again during the last few months, and you are definitely one reason why I am confident to start my own business and why I started to workout more again (feels good!). Therefore: thank you! Back to your story: would have liked to see your work and officebuilding as well, maybe you have enought footage to make a video of it and gets you more fews for woodworkers and craftsmen like me as well. Apart from that: ever consideret reaching out to the big companies, such as National Geographic, Men's Health or Red Bull? I guess you could write and provide great stories and footage, especially the arctic expiditions. Just a thought. Other than that, if you ever come to Austria (Vienna) again, let me know and it would be nice to go for a hike in lower Austria. All the best, Philipp
Sorry to hear about the issues you had man. Your channel has been a huge inspiration to me and I hope you manage to bounce back from this and keep crushing it(I'm sure you will anyway). And I'm not sure if it's the kind of thing you meant but me and a friend have been planning to hike from London to Glasgow ~400 miles in August. Was hoping to document it in some way ourselves as well.
Its all about taking a leap of faith and sticking to your true self. Constant reflecting and reevaluating on what you're doing. I'm also on the verge of starting my own designing brand/company. A different kind of adventure. But every step is a new discovery and a progression in the right direction.... Best of luck in your development, the future is exciting!!! Loving the content 👏👏
You just did what all the most successful people in the world do - you failed forward. And you are so right, your best content is when you are out and about on different adventures. Can't wait to see what you do next! 🙂
It's because he doesn't play the algorithm enough. His most popular videos have a bit more "clickbate-y" thumbnail, that worked. Think posting shorts from his video's would also give the channel boost
Don't worry Jonne, it is definitely a valuable experience that will teach you a lot, even after some time passes. You really are a free spirit that cannot be closed within four walls, and it is a thing that we, your viewers, value a ton. Can't wait to see more of your adventures! Stay safe, greetings from Poland :)
From someone was born and lives in Brazil, snow is something so alien. Also, failing is ok, as long as the lesson is learned and improve comes from it, keep it up bro.
Jonne i wish you a fast recovery. I love your content and your personality is 90% of the reason why i follow you. - I'm going to run the Danish version of Coast to Coast in June (69km). We will start at the West Coast at sunset and then run trough the night and them finish at the east Coast by sunrise. A fantastic adventure in my opinion!
I can relate to plans falling through. I had plans ten years ago for where I would be in my life now. Things don't always work out as planned but it's not all bad. Sometimes what you have planned might keep you from finding something great. Sometimes you need to lose something that matters to you to realize what it truly meant. Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.
I'm sorry the office didn't work out. But I really enjoy your content and look forward to the future of it. Should feel proud of yourself, it's easy to not take risks
I have been in my business for 30 years now, and I continued to add more pieces to my puzzle, and in that expansion I lost watching really mattered and I too am about to strip down elements to make it simple again. This simplicity allows us to work, harder and smarter, knowing what we know and allowing in this complacency and familiarity to drive us to leverage time and effort. I know that I found you through the one you did about Casey Neistat, I wonder if you recognize that this is very similar to Casey‘s attempt to create a studio when he should’ve never bothered with that, and it was not where his heart was, but it is natural to want to take your business in the direction of a business but that’s not the way it looks for what you guys do It has a different appearance, and it does not involve being in a building.
This UA-cam Channel is in my top 3 with Beau Miles and Struthless channel (the compliment is real !). I obviously appreciate the outdoor adventures there, but beyond the physical performance, it's above all your storytelling and your ability to transforme an ordinary life into an adventure that I love in your videos. There are plenty of accounts with performances, races at the other end of the world but your videos are really different ! I also want to thank you for your "call". Not to answer it but it reminded me that it's something I want in my life : more outdoor adventures. I'm quite unfit, I don't have the profile of an adventurer, I don't really have skills to do that XD. But it reminds me that if one day I want to have adventures too, it's up to me to create them, and I have to work for. So thank you for the inspiration and lots of good vibes from France for the future !
Until you try something, you never know how it will work out. Like you say, it's not a failed experience if it's shown you the direction that you want to move forward in. Keep on with these incredible videos, you're doing an amazing job!
Mate, thank you for your stuff and I'm sorry about your injury and the warehouse. I also have an adventure btw: you inspired me last year and I did my first ultra and I'm editing the footage, but you know, I have to do uni parallel, and I even got hyped up to the point to sign up to a 150km, 6700m elevation race this summer (in Bulgaria), which I wanted to document as well, but again, I don't know how good I can do it (struggling to do it as good as I want to, create a good story around it and all). I'm sure I'm not of the calibre you were probably talking about, but still, I wanted to share. (and to thank you for inspiring me to run, it's basically my only motivation in uni rn :))
Really honest video, look forward to the upcoming videos! My next adventure is working toward my first ever 50mile Ultra on the Cornish Coast Path in the UK. The event is The Arc 50miles in January 2024 (one of the toughest courses in the UK Ultra calendar) wasn't aware of that!! I have been told several times 'I'm not built for running' 'Running isn't a sport you could do' so I'm out here proving to myself i can do it, i have London Marathon and VAGA Rat Aug 5th to prepare which i have to finish just to be able to take part in the Arc50 January 27th 2024.
Hey Jonne! Sad to hear it didn't work out...was looking forward to you killing it with your new place. I'll be doing a first backyard ultra in may & run a brutal 81 km race in Austria with 4300 m of elevation gain in June. And ending the year with Kullamannen 100 km in Malmö. Hit me up if it sounds interesting to throw something together! I've done a 50k race in the snow with 2000m elevation gain and a marathon prior to this, and obviously some "shorter" races. (Live in Sthlm).
I came across your video about swimming and must thank you as I have now been able to swim more than 25m without stopping. Yesterday I did 1200m and all because I injured my knee and watched your video. Please stay positive and keep making content, even the small things as it can, and will motivate people, like me.
Glad you're going after that kind of content that's more appealing to you ! Looking forward to see what you do in the future your videos are really awesome man
Don't even know how I found your channel, but after watching your "Enduventrue" video and this one, your outlook on life and realness in interacting with your followers is super encouraging and inspiring. Definitely gained a subscriber and someone who looks forward to more realness and sick Enduventure videos!!
Sounds like you learned a lot from the dream shatter.... It was just a step closer to your true dream ;) Very excited to see what you will make in the future! I don't know if you ever tried bikepacking but that could be a fun adventure for you but also for you to document! I hope to go bikepacking again this summer, no idea where to yet but the starting point is in the Netherlands ;)
I have been thinking of taking a bike ride from Chengdu China to Emei mountain about 100km away. To make it more interesting I have been considering using one of the shared bikes (that you scan to unlock and they are not nearly as fast as a regular bike), sleep in a hostel in the night, the next day try to run to the top of Emei mountain (usually takes two days to get up whereas one night is spent sleeping in some monestary on the mountain) but my goal would be to make it up in one day (it is about 60-70km from the bottom to the top), sleep at the top of the mountain and take some great photos of the sunrise then take a bus down and ride back to chengdu on that third day. I realize this is in China and very far away from Europe (I am from Sweden myself but has lived in China for the past 10 years). If that is something you would be interested in joining or documenting together I am all for it. Best regards
looking back it totally makes sense that an office would not work out even if you had the money to rent it, it would be a waste for all the (now) obvious reasons you listed keep up the good work!

Bro I actually don't get how you don't have a larger following, who doesn't love a fin?
It's because he doesn't play the algorithm enough. His most popular videos have a bit more "clickbate-y" thumbnail, that worked. Think posting shorts from his video's would also give the channel boost
Keep it going, man! We love your stories and the way you share them
Hey Jonne, I'm really glad you're back... Looking forward to the upcoming videos. Always a big inspiration to get outside and find new adventures😃🤙
One step back two steps forward! Happy you made the decision and got rid of what slowed you down!
What is this called?
@@WIZARDTOWER1337 BDO Coast2coast 😊
sorry about the office and about your injury. We will be here "waiting"
Knowing when to recognise something doesn’t work and admitting when you are invested in it is a tough skill don’t beat yourself up
This UA-cam Channel is in my top 3 with Beau Miles and Struthless channel (the compliment is real !).
I am planing to run 6 highest peaks of my home country slovenia. 63km with 6300m of elevation
Strong video! Keep your head up and go chase your dream!!
great choice, great storytelling, keep grinding, you inspired me to be a creator myself.
Best of luck for the new direction you chose!
Keep it up bro, things like that happen and we support you🙏🙏
Until you try something, you never know how it will work out. Like you say, it's not a failed experience if it's shown you the direction that you want to move forward in.
Keep on with these incredible videos, you're doing an amazing job!
I am sorry things didn’t work. Keep chasing your dream and keep making great content as u always do!
Good luck with your new venture mate 👍
"Success is the continuous realization of a worthy ideal" Keep it up bro!
It's okay. Life IS imperfect. We just get to figure out what works and what doesn't work.
(and to thank you for inspiring me to run, it's basically my only motivation in uni rn :))
and I also have a weird calf injury I have no idea how to sort out :))
big companies, for Good sake !!sponsor this guy and let him continue to follow his dream..its worth it!
Best wishes and we know you will be successful in building content wherever you are! We are still with you🤗
Im pumped for the direction of the channel. Cheers
I saw one of your water fasting videos and It was truly entertaining, And boy.... you got the charisma. Never give up, you are making a difference.
There's no such thing as bad experience mate, everything depends on the perspective. You nailed it!
Love your content. Keep going. You ROCK!
Thanks!!
I came across your video about swimming and must thank you as I have now been able to swim more than 25m without stopping. Yesterday I did 1200m and all because I injured my knee and watched your video. Please stay positive and keep making content, even the small things as it can, and will motivate people, like me.
Wow, that's amazing to hear, congrats on your progress!
Glad that you steered the wheel. All love to your chanel❤
Sounds like you learned a lot from the dream shatter.... It was just a step closer to your true dream ;) Very excited to see what you will make in the future! I don't know if you ever tried bikepacking but that could be a fun adventure for you but also for you to document! I hope to go bikepacking again this summer, no idea where to yet but the starting point is in the Netherlands ;)
if you learn something, to fail was worth it. so inspiring that you dont quit.
Hey. Your value add is you doing the things you love. When you are true to your self, it shows in your work.
Be strong and your fans will be there 💪
You are the best! You should be the biggest guy in youtube, hope you will be able to make the most of yourself
Bummed the office didn't work out but proud of your pivot and looking forward to your future content!
I appreciate it James :)
It was worth a try and brought you to this new, different path. Look forward to what’s there to come. Cheers mate 😊🙏🏻
Doing a 580 mile ride from NYC to Canada for charity in July! You should come do it with us
I have been thinking of taking a bike ride from Chengdu China to Emei mountain about 100km away.
You did something that you seem excellent at: you learned, and quickly if I may say so. No shame in that. Keep it up!
looking back it totally makes sense that an office would not work out even if you had the money to rent it, it would be a waste for all the (now) obvious reasons you listed keep up the good work!
Hey Jonne, I’m training for my very first triathlon in Oceanbeach and thought maybe it would be interesting to document. Nevertheless, I’m glad your doing good now and are trying to do the things you love the most
This sounds like an amazing decision!! :) Looking forward to your upcoming content!
