Based on this video, it is obvious to see that the key to the success of this game is making characters amazing on their own and not be dependent on cameos. The developers are stuck between either unleashing cameos completely to fill character weaknesses or restricting cameos but making characters be individually great like Cage and Peacemaker.
This, in a way i feel like kameos end up hurting the game more than making it better, because a lot of the characters feel restricted, just to insert the kameos into their gameplay

Honestly really funny and ironic hearing him love Peacemaker so much and even say he might just be his character. Seeing as how all the way till his gameplay trailer Max just did not care about and was the least interested in him out of everyone in the Kombat Pack, writing him off as another "guy with gun who just shoots and punches" like Robocop. Oh how that changed and i couldnt be happier about it.
Everyone was so excited about the supers instead thinking this would be a gun character, which if Netherrealm fucked up it could be, but if you watch the how you can just see the potential. I love how Eagly and the helmet are used in his kit. I also hope it increases viewership for that show too. Glad more people are finding the way of the pacifying fist.

You can really tell that John Cena is having a blast as peacemaker here in Mortal Kombat and he’s basically the Deadpool of the DC universe in terms of one-liners and comedic timing especially to the mk kharacters like Quran chi, shao Kahn, and the others I mean even during his fight with Liu Kang he basically is confirming that Mortal Kombat versus DC universe in some of the events that happened during the injustice games are part of their timeline. You can also tell that the devs really made peacemaker way better than even one of their own characters such as Kurtis Stryker, in fact if I recall correctly in his Armageddon ending in Mortal Kombat he basically ended up becoming a vigilante in the process after defeating blaze and absorbing his power. The only thing I was a little disappointing in was the Johnny Cage comments because there was a lot of missed opportunities they could’ve done with their interactions. The best thing is I could tell by Max’s reaction that peacemaker is a broken character during his anti-gravity air combo attack case in point is right here in this intro 0:01, 15:06
They nailed omniman with that air dash extender really adding the L2 flying dash which made him feel really cool and unique and i feel like they took that as an example for the design of this character. Everything just works the way you expect it to work.
That’s why I said this game has a ton of replay ability and not dull like lot of players say it is because of the endless discovery aspect on inventing your own combos. It’s crazy alone with just 1 fighter to play with, combine a fighter with a kameo and you reach next level insanity on combo creations.
