Good tip on use of the jack stand to prevent the disc from pulling axle out of tranny. But also pressure wash everything before you remove the wheel, and wire brush any exposed studs. Any rusty bolts/nuts will need repeated heat/cool cycles with a propane torch, minimum of 4 cycles. You do NOT want to strip any bolts or sawzall remove unless you have lots of time to wait for Lexus parts
Thanks for the insight Did my passenger side today Stressful with the thing rotor and caliper flapping around Didn’t want to pull the drive shaft out It worked out No more noise Drivers side tomorrow $avings will come in handy Appreciate you How’s the Lexus running ? 2011 rx350 for me 142k and running good
@@CarModsGarage gotcha, they are great cars, very reliable, I’ll hold onto this one a while, I got it in Florida and it’s already paid for itself and then some, the struts are the first issue I’ve had with it in 4 years No payments no problems, Lexus rocks
I got Monroe struts and few days later I’m hearing a clunking noise. Monroe has a page for this: check loose bolts, check mountain hardware top (but it came stock). Wondering if I should take it all apart again and start over OR is it my axel that some of you Guys mentioned. I had my Jack on the axel to prevent it from falling off
KYB is close to OEM and Monroe is just as good from my research. Any other aftermarket brands are same but with different names so be careful when buying.
So I'm not sure my struts are the issue, but I'm going through a lot of other replacements. I'm going to take the strut off to see if there's a problem with the top plate. Front end is clunking. According to AutoZone, the axle nut has to be removed. What happened with the "not fun" axle problem you had on the other side? ua-cam.com/video/KpAMvFKc3aI/v-deo.html
if the axle is not disconnected and you pull it enough the booth comes off and the "bearings" balls or whatever that is comes off full of grease. I was able to put it back together and zip tie the booth in place again with new grease. The clunking sometime what was for me was a protection on the spring end but would mostly happen when turning

great job good to see you rocking
Thanks Daniel! I appreciate your supported brother. Nice to see your eclipses coming together so nice! 👌🔥
Great job
Thanks for posting this
I’m getting ready to do the same job
Hope it helps 💪
4:20 is there a reason why you placed those bolts backward/reversed?
It was easier to tighten. For those putting the nut side to the left or to the right wouldn't change anything
Thanks for the insight
Did my passenger side today
Stressful with the thing rotor and caliper flapping around
Didn’t want to pull the drive shaft out
It worked out
No more noise
Drivers side tomorrow
$avings will come in handy
Appreciate you

I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you! I don't have the Lexus anymore but it was fine when I sold it. 👍

@@technofugit8391 ya they are very very good. They rarely break

As long as you didn't lift your car by the axle you are fine. Usually i put on the hub not on the axle. It could be a defective part.
how does it drive with that brand shocks? thinking about doing this for my rx350. thank you
they are like OEM. Same stiffness which is comfortable!
Is a front end alignment required after struts for the 2010 Rx?
Usually it's good to have but not necessary. Go for a drive and see if the steering wheel is straight and if it is you should be good
Is that a version with air suspension? Mine is a 450h with neumatic suspension, will it be compatible?
I don't think so. The link is in the description. Check it out
What make of struts did you put on. Where did you get them from?
I put them in the description. There is a link to the ones I've got
What were the symptoms that made you decide to change them
The ride wasn't smooth anymore. We could feel every bump on the road.
Mine feels the same. Was there a major difference afterward? Did it make the car feel good and new when driving over potholes?
Yes pretty much it. Even small bumps fell smoother now.
how many miles the car has
I can't remember but i think it was a bit under 100k
What brand are the strut?
they are from amazon. I believe I put the link in the description.

How do you do the driver side at the top
I'm not sure what you mean.

@@CarModsGarage thanks for that. Might be wise to take the axle nut off then. Thank you
Axle nut is for earlier RX generation.
Previous reply, the other side came apart. Taking the axle nut off seems to prevent the nuts from coming apart.
😎👍
Using the breaker bar as a torque wrench scares me pretty badly.... Same goes for tightening bolts with the impact wrench....
