    I never had the correct embouchure despite playing the oboe for 10 years, so I stopped playing oboe after college. It's been 8 years, and I've barely picked it up since. I've instead been the organist at church for >15 years, so I'm putting my music major to use.

    I am still studying it though
    It adds a time line in playing each note
    I also need to practice to play and think with the images of
    Different tones

      Best excuse for oboe players 😉😂 No for real I was ready to play it in front of everyone but I accidentally switched reeds (same color!) so I had a hard time playing it correctly until the end.

  • @woland99
    @woland99 7 років тому +3

    I know very little about performing Baroque but I seem to have impression that there is slight disconnection between oboe and piano on faster parts. The tone, the intonation, dynamics are all there. Nice version and beyond any level on which I can perform (on any instrument). I plan to study this piece (slow parts) on tenor saxophone soon - just started playing again 6 months ago and I am trying some easier classical pieces.

    • @chrismav61
      @chrismav61 7 років тому

      woland99 This isnt really considered an "easier" piece... Also am curious as to why you're studying this music with a Tenor? I find that would lead to an interesting sound

    • @woland99
      @woland99 7 років тому +1

      Understand - I think I was a bit optimistic 2 mo about it being easier piece - hit the plateau 8 months into my tenor studies. So Telemann for now is on back burner - just playing Niehaus' etudes for now ;-) Maybe will try to do Adagio from Trumpet Concerto first... My main instrument is guitar - saxophone is more of "exploration of melody" thing now - and getting away from cliches that you get stuck with on guitar. It also really opens your ears - maybe because you need to keep the intonation right (my horn is 70yo museum piece...)

    • @vzeno8479
      @vzeno8479 7 років тому +2

      The piano part is written like that. Not all Baroque pieces are like this. And don't play this for tenor saxaphone. Do it on soprano if you must, as soprano would sound much better.
