Really appreciate this review, love the rolltop format and because of that I'm very sensitive to how well it's designed - a good rolltop opens and closes so smoothly, a badly designed one is just a recipe for frustration. Great to be warned.
In my opinion, the pack is not meant for use in an urban/ city EDC environment. It's more trail, track adventuring day walks etc. That's where this pack will be best suited.
This bag would not do well on a trail. It’s very narrow and hard to organize and access. While you will be carrying less on the trial, you will need it very organized so you know where the items are you need. Like a rain jacket. It should always be kept at the top, but if you are carrying for more than one person, things migrate. And trying to dig in this bag to find two rain jackets, will just let water into the waterproof bag and not let it out. The bag needs to be a little deeper and wider. And give it a larger internal pocket. The outside can also fit a small booboo kit. Or if you need a grocery getter, this bag might work out well for that.
okay but please say what would be a better option then. there aren't that many waterproof backpacks that have such style variation and are readily available
Hi there! So i was wondering if this bag would fit my use case, as i have been researching about it for some time now. I would most likely orient it to be used as a EDC urban but with some specific items: * Keyboard box for my own custom built * 64 GB USB * 10 inch tablet + charger * phone usb-c charger * notebook + pen * water bottle, around 1 litre * magic the gathering commander deckbox + playmat I understand the organizing thing can be a mess so i was thinking about carrying the notebook, tablet and usb+pen at the attached laptop bag, and the rest mostly laying around the bottom, everything set in a rather vertical way, i might also include a 14 inch laptop if needed or a small toiletry pouch.
It seems like many of your items will be hard edges (rectangular or square). This bag would probably work best as an EDC with items like that. It does not work out well with several pouches. Everything just gets lost in there.
