  • About the Series:
    This is series of lessons that focusses on Imam ash-Shafi'i's Madhab or fiqh. This is meant to develop the understanding of those students who have passion for learning the classical works in the school of Imam ash-Shafi'i.
    About the Book:
    This is first book in the series insha Allah, it is Imam Salim bin 'Abdullah bin Sa'ad bin Sumair al-Hadrami (d.1271) famous work named as Safinat al-Naja (The Ship of Salvatio). This work was written for those starting to learn the madhab. It was meant for younger students to memorise. It covers the 'Ibada (Worship) section of the fiqh.
    About Shaykh Jamal Sharif al-Ansari:
    Jamal sharif yusuf Al-Ansari was born in East Africa 1977. He grew up in Saudi Arabia (spent 8 years in Jeddah) went back to East Africa for about 6years. His family then moved to the UK at the age of 16.
    Shaykh Jamal finished Darul 'Uloom in blackburn 2003.
    Shaykh Jamal recently spent 7 years in Yemen and visited many parts of Yemen. He also finished his Bachelor's degree
    in 2009 from university of al-Ahqaaf in Tarim.
    Among his studies were:
    Fiqh Shafi'i,
    Fiqh al-Muqaranah,
    Fiqh al-Sirah,
    Fiqh al-Nawazil,
    Usul al-Fiqh ,
    Qawa'id al-Fiqh,
    Maqasid al-Shar'ia,
    Tarikh Tashri',
    Ahadith al-Ahkam,
    Ayat al-Ahkaam,
    Nahw, Sarf, Balagh and Mustalah.
    He also completed Sab'at Qiraat (7 established readings of the Qur'an) and was given Ijazah (permission) to teach it.
    Between 2009-2011 he studied under some scholars of Tarim:
    He was taught "Minhaj al-Talibin" by Mohd khatib, Mufti of Tarim
    and by Mohd Ba'dhawy a member of the Majlis of iftaa in Tarim.
    He also visited India and Bangladesh.
    Shaykh Jamal is fluent in Arabic, English and Swahili.He c an also communicate in Urdu with some difficulty.
