Who is the enemy, who gave the humans a ship, is the council the ones who gave them the ship?Who were the enemies they were to fight, and who were their allies? Why were the humans where they were, did they arrive there in their own ship or brought there by someone else? This story has so many questions, holes, and inconsistencies I can't enjoy it without all the other questions bothering me.

If the humans could not only repair but improve the alien ship even before they found the artifact why couldn't they build a ship of there own a ship that's not falling apart that has a brand new engine weapons shields and maybe even some of that good old human armor that can hold out better than shields agents energy weapons
