    The Voyage instantly took my #1 wood coaster spot after my first ride in June 2019. On the return run, I started laughing hysterically from how relentless the airtime pops and lateralls combined with how FAST it was going. No other ride had made me feel like that before. Just a fantastic ride in every way and without a doubt Gravity Group's greatest creation. I'm hoping to go back to Holiday World this year to get some more rides on it along with their other excellent coasters!
    I will also say, I'm so glad they stuck with the PTC trains on this coaster because it runs so well with them. You can clearly see how much slower it was running in the videos you showed.

    • @CanobieCoaster

      The reason the ride runs as good as it does is entirely due to the incredible maintenance team.

    Most rides peter out by the end, Voyage somehow makes the last third of its layout the wildest part of the ride! Agreed that the trim being off or on does not greatly affect the quality of the ride. That being said, taking that triple down at night with no trim in the back row in pitch black through that loud tunnel is incredible.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 роки тому +3

      That triple down is the only part that feels way different to me, but the speed on the return run is incredible regardless of the trim. Such great terrain use!

    I made a trip to Holiday World in 2018. I didn't feel the greatest that day, but I really enjoyed the Voyage. It is in my Top 10 overall, and is my third favorite wooden coaster behind Lightning Rod and Outlaw Run (Have not been on El Toro). I really need to get to Holiwood Nights so I can experience the trimless night rides. I really think that will push this coaster up in my rankings.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 роки тому

      That should help it move up! I seem to be one of the few who don't think the trimless rides are what makes it special at HoliWood Nights. I just like the night rides in general.

  • @OklahomaCoasterFan

    Voyage was everything I hoped it would be on my first rides this year at HoliWood Nights. On all 8 rides I got, I didn't know what elements we were doing as we went along, as it was just so wild and crazy. And there was so much happening, there's no way I could remember the details like you did here. I give Lightning Rod a very slight edge for my favorite wooden coaster (although it looks like it won't be wooden anymore), but I honestly didn't expect Voyage to come that close to LR.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 роки тому +1

      Those two coasters share a lot in common- amazing setting, elite night rides, and perfect pacing. It just comes down to the superior airtime of Lightning Rod versus the length/quantity of Voyage.

  • @MillenniumForceMan
    @MillenniumForceMan 4 роки тому +1

    i agree the night rides improve the experience a lot, but the trimless aspect or whatever makes it run faster at during ERT at holiwood nights is the real deal breaker, i came in expecting voyage to be barely a top 100 coaster itw, and on my first ride which has trims and was during the day obviously, even my low expectations didnt stop me from being disappointed, and it would have been my #17 coaster, fast forward to my last right, on the 3rd to last train of the day on day 2 of holiwood nights, trimless at 11:30 at night in the back row with a fully loaded train (yes the park didnt care cuz they are amazing), and now i think voyage is easily a top 50 coaster itw and is my #8, the 2nd half is the best part in my opinion, and without trims the ride is 10 seconds faster, and u can see and feel the difference, nice floater, weak laterals and solid pacing in the 2nd half turns into pops of violent ejector, aggressive laterals and face ripping level pacing, and i think a night ride with a lot more weight and being warmed up helped that, but trimless is definitely the best, and i got trimmed day rides and trimless day rides and the trimless ones still were like twice as good, and i also think seat matters, the triple down never rly did that much for me, but in the back, the airtime and laterals just feel much more aggressive, u get the full potential of the first drop, and u get pulled thru the elements and whipped around uncontrollably and u cant get that towards the front, i also got tons of room on voyage every time, but maybe its just cuz im good at getting room with PTC trains, cuz the next weekend i literally had the restraint on ravine flyer 2 come down a click on the lift cuz i had so much room lol

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 роки тому +1

      I know it objectively runs faster with the trims off and I know I'm in the minority about that impacting the ride for me. I also prefer Voyage up front and that seat isn't as impacted by the trims being off, so that may also help explain it. The ride is aggressive to me day, night, trims on or off. And that's why I love it.

      @MillenniumForceMan 4 роки тому +1
