It's pretty cool. In my eyes he was evolving into more of a singer. A singer who had bars, but seemed more at home with his bass lines coming from a guitar. I am certain he would have been an ever adapting artist, always morphing into whatever form he needed to, to best illustrate what he had to say. Sadly we'll never get to see.

Ok, full disclosure: I've just discovered Mac and fell in love istantly, it's been a couple of months now that I listen on repeat his songs. I noticed all these things also and knowing Malcolm everything had a purpose, nothing was on accident. This man transcended time and space to create something so much more special than just music. It’s all so poetic and real. Every song was like a looking glass into his psyche and the way he saw the world and love. This album will forever just blow me away completely. He wasn’t addicted he just wanted a light buzz. Anyone who’s ever done drugs knows cocaine is just like a cup of coffee and a couple pharmaceuticals he wasn’t overdosing or anything crazy. The drugs were fake and had a bad chemical and the mix killed him. He wasn’t a strung out addict. The “drug” world is more complex then addict and non drug user there are varying degrees and macs has had seasons of being strung out this wasn’t one of them. He was just trying to get a little high and make music most likely. That’s why the drug dealers were arrested that fake drug had been making rounds he just was unlucky.

This song reminds me of the tumultuous 3 year relationship I had with my girlfriend. I sacrificed and did so much for her, only for her to go and cheat on me and see other guys behind my back. Even after I said I forgave her i couldn't look at her the same way again, nor could I trust her. She wasn't the same sweet girl I fell in love with, nor could I save her, things wouldn't be the same. It's all said and done now, but I still can't shake her off my mind months later. Something about this song makes me feel it'll all be okay, thank you Mac. ❤️

To me this one really hits home I work with Addict's and twice a month I go to a high poverty area in my city in Oakland and I bring food, drinks, hygiene stuff ect...to help out. The struggle is real and it's not getting easier.
What hurts me the most is when I hear young kids battle rapping for money. They are pushing bars so hard and hugging and smiling afterwards.
