Debatable, unquestionably superb but so is Dinu Lipatt's, just to cite example. And not necessarily Chopin's best piece, there's the Opus 61 Polonaise Fantasy just to cite another example one among many (the last two Ballades, the Opus 61 Nocturne etc.).
I love Ashkenazy on the Etudes and some Beethoven Sonatas (and much else), but Gordon Fergus-Thompson really owns the Barcarolle with far more subtlety.

Comparing this to Argerich, this one sounds actually like a Barcarolle. Argerich’s is an angrier one...great in its own right.
Strange, I actually found the trills at 1:31 1:35 to be at least as difficult as the double trills.
I know- nothing in those fits easily under the fingers.
