Great tip, thank you for sharing. I use a Unicender in part because it is mid-line attachable, but with so many ZZs out there, this may be something I could pass along should I see someone who could use it.
I like to attach a carabiner (i had to look up the spelling) to my belt buckle and stand above my rope bag, and pull my rope through. It flakes in the bag real well and goes FAST. Works for climb line and rigging line.
I won't be doing a video of the zigzag with the rope wrench as they are not designed to work together, and Petzl have had many zigzags returned with excessive wear because people have been using them with rope wrenches. I wouldn't advise it.
I would argue the Zigzag and Chicane is superior to the Akimbo, so personally would go for functionality over midline attachable .... but what works for one climber doesn’t always work for another.
We all climb on zig zags. Im gonna show the boys this monday theyre gonna love it! Its a ballache getting your ZZ to the end of the rope after a climb!
Who's Bob and how does everyone know he's Climbing Arborist uncle? :) Seriously, very good tips, thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and yours and everyone here.
Careful with that second technique! There's a real danger of some "helpful" arsehole coming along trying to feed you slack while you're flaking you're rope into the bag ;)
Thank you Dan ! If there was a way to make the Zigzag easier, then this is it ! Great tip .
very simple to implement, and very effective tips! Thanks
great tip. I use ct roll n lock and clip to the hole on the zz. I then hang my chainsaw to keep it weighted down

Great video as always, nice twist to what I do, will defiantly be trying the micro pulley one. Cheers Dan
I leave the zigzag on the line, in the bottom of the bag. Ready to go right where I need it. Great tip though. Thank you
ColdStihl Tree Removal , I do the same
Yeah. I was wondering why people keep pulling rope through in both directions. I do what you do.

Hi great video as always could you do a video on using the zigzag 1 with a wrope wrench how you set it up thanks
I won't be doing a video of the zigzag with the rope wrench as they are not designed to work together, and Petzl have had many zigzags returned with excessive wear because people have been using them with rope wrenches. I wouldn't advise it.

Neat trick! I like the akimbo because you can install it midline
I would argue the Zigzag and Chicane is superior to the Akimbo, so personally would go for functionality over midline attachable .... but what works for one climber doesn’t always work for another.
Good to know I have not yet tried them thanks!
Your Vids are great fella, thanks!

Strongly disagree

Did someone dare you to say Pretzel Zig Zag at 0:20?
That's hilarious ! Good catch
I've never heard of the pretzel zig zag haha
If your using a friction saver, I doubt the right eye would pass through both eyelets
What eyelets?? If you are using a friction saver you would retrieve it as normal with a retrieval ball.
So simple, I'm embarrassed.
I feel dumb... Thank you
