Great review Mark, I really liked how you demonstrated the view with the live captures, that's a great way to illustrate your videos, it makes them highly enjoyable to watch. Man the weight on this thing would do me in but what a perfect device for planetary oppositions! Well Done!

This arrangement has been present on microscopes for perhaps a century or two. It does look very expensive.

Hi Mark, thanks for that upload, it was great! Good to see your daughter joining in, too. A request: would it be possible, please, to make a video showing how the turret installs into the rear of the SCT? Does it go straight into the rear cell or into the daigonal, etc? It looks beautifully made, I might like to get one. Thanks, Simon.

Hi Simon, it's simply a 1.25" nose piece. No different from say a diagonal or any other accessory. Let us know how you get on with it. If you email me direct mark at refreshing views dot com (all one word) I'll send you some photos.

Nice review Mark. I looked at them in the tent at the WSP, and it did seem very well made, but given the size and weight it’s for a fairly beefy setup. I used a turret at Stellafane last year and I found I had a hard time using it at the zenith due to the turret itself hitting my pier on a long refractor.

Yeah the turret does weight a bit, Terri so defo works better on a bigger set up. Hope spring is springing with you!

Great having all those eye pieces to hand, what about if the night is bad with dew?

You are right, it would be a problem particularly while breathing alongside the unused eps. We didn't have any problem in the obsy but did keep the dust caps on just in case.

Very cool video. I’ve forgotten how fun visual astronomy is. Who is your guest? I just bought the same mount for my solar telescope

£1000 you are joking. Just to save swapping eyepieces. No thank you.

I think you may have a point! It was great fun but is at the higher end my price point - and that’s before you factor in the weight.
