I hope they have a convent carry option for this case as well.
The sheen on the anodizing actually isn't really an indicator of quality. It's more an indicator of the style of anodizing, as it would be a soft anodizing. A proper hardcoat anodizing can't really end up that consistent or clean. The struggle to get quality anodizing done in colors is why one of the few that does it right (Geissele Automatics) outright says that their anodized parts of the same color won't necessarily match.
Good point! While the sheen does indeed indicate the style of anodizing and the surface prep of the metal, I can promise you Jay has enough experience with anodizing that he can judge quality. :)
@@joshbussard5583 You can't judge quality without a spec sheet and how it was done chemically... that's kinda the point I'm making. He can judge that it looks nice. Do you have any idea what type of anodizing it is? The thickness? The surface hardness? Antec obviously isn't going to go with Type III hard coat. It's almost definitely type II because that dyes best. But type II is definitionally not a high quality anodizing: it's done because it dyes nicely, not because it actually creates a thick, hard layer on the surface.
Yeah and the panels being CNC machined seems highly dubious. I haven't seen a price for the 1 M but the waste produced by machining those panels seems extreme and cost prohibitive. IMO, only the skeleton is machined.
It would be cool to see something like this but like 2-3” taller so you could fit like a 45mm thick radiator on the bottom. Then a side panel that has 280mm mounting options for a second radiator.
@rekareaper I mean frankly the market for SSF is already niche, and within that niche custom liquid cooling in SSF is even more niche. Virtually no manufacturer will choose to care about radiator mounting without also caring about AIOs.
@ the fans are already on the bottom. It’s pretty obvious there is no intention to put an AIO down there and this likely isn’t a mass produced case with large amounts of stock on shelves and in storage. Moving the fans requires more of a redesign than a simple extension. Placing them on the top instead of the bottom also means you would need three dust filters instead of one or two (two being the case with the side panel I suggested) unless you used the top as intake. Dust naturally settles on the top as well.
I always think the same. It was already extremely hard to fit two 240 rads into my Jonsbo A4 (one top and one on bottom). For the bottom I needed to make a custom frame to rise the case a bit and fit two slim fans into the frame. I really would love to see a sandwich style case which fits two rads out of the box.
Antec ROCKS!!!! I have a Q6850 in a P5K with crossfired ATI 4850HDs and 4GB with XP in an Antec full tower with mobo tray. It began with a PIII-1000 and has housed my UGM up through gen 1 Intel.
I’m a big SFF guy, but having practically no AIO support for a CPU that’s supposedly paired with a 4090 is insane. Even the Meshicilious supports a 280 rad… from years ago.
Very happy to see Antec coming back I still am running an Antec 900 which has superb air flow for when it was made. So this brand always has a place in my heart.
I really want a case manufacturer to design something like the original Corsair one. Vertical is my favorite layout but hate that I have to lay the case down every time I want to connect a cable.
Yeah been tempted to try out a Meshroom S for exactly that reason. I think the only way to really compromise on CPU tower clearance is to have proper room for a 280mm rad and this Antec doesn't really look like it does in the orientation they built it for.
Haven’t seen one that doesn’t cause fires yet. As a loque ghost user I wouldn’t mind vertical but they are also so wide it defeats the purpose for me idk. Looking for best of both worlds
The Cooler Master NR200 was almost a perfect case for me, but after buying it I wished it had better build quality especially in the feet. This looks like a big improvement over it, so I'm gonna pick one up!
I ended up getting the Antec Flux Pro. I was tired of having crap cheap cases. Really great decision. Fantastic the built in, tons of room, and great cooling performance. It's expensive, but it was worth it.
Building my first SFF machine ever. But had a custom case I started a decade ago that was about 80% done, using that. Super badass 8700G to rock some Guitar Hero for my girl.
Great review thanks Jay. I wish Antec would come up with a similar fully modular mid-sized case which would enable you to add 5.25" external drive bays for card readers, fan speed controllers, VDUs, tool trays or whatever. Make it fully customisable.
You know seeing Jay easily build in such an ITX case takes some of my anxiety away of wanting to build an mATX system next. I would love to see a video on pitfalls when building a ITX/mATX/SFF system that might not be obvious to average users and builders.
My next build will be a SFF build for sure, and this case is a top contender. I'm still a few years off from a new build (5800X3d and 4090), so I'm excited to see what new products come in the future. Great video!
If Antec came up with some sort of base that you could attach to the bottom that had considerations for feeding cables, it would be a perfect vertical case.
Looks great! The red is nice, but personally having something like a brass colour instead would be an instabuy for me. The option for a tower orientation would be amazing too, as well as a little more height for an AIO.
This is actually a really cool case both in aesthetics and how it's built, the ability to customize and mod seems like a huge boon. The fan placement limitations, and lack of custom loop support (ish) seem to be the only downsides, but with the amount of mesh you get it seems this'll be fine with good aircoolers and just letting the case breathe. Oh, and not a huge fan of the open back design, seems kind of unfinished because of everything kind of hanging out of the back like that. That said, I'm actually veeery tempted to build a fully aircooled 9800x3D + Radeon setup in this case, simply because of the color scheme. If I hadn't just bought a North XL, and a X670E board, I would definitely be going that route. Great review, Antec is definitely working overtime on their cases!
I would love to see this be able to be vertical!! Would also be a good homebrew case for EGPU They could make a flow through front panel, and a bit of modification those feet could be used on the back if you were to mount it vertically and since they are half loop they could help with wire management. I am still of the opinion that Jay needs to do a build in the Antec Cannon. It really would be a perfect chassis for a Black Ice or Nebula revival build!
Really love watching you Jay. My only probablem is I can't watch too many reviews these days, or I start using money I don't have to buy things I don't need. :(
Been heavily considering a SFF build because I got a huge wide-screen monitor and I feel the lack of desk space now and I'm considering mounting my PC below my desk. SFF would be key for that.
Ouuu, that Red/Black colourway is beautiful. More computer companies need to make this an option, the best colour combo for gamers, don't know what it is but I immediately fell in love with this, and I'm using a HYTE Y60 so quite the size difference lol
If you wanted to mount it vertically just design a stand and 3d print it to see how it works. I do think it would defeat the purpose of the bottom to top airflow, and the front panel being solid doesn't help, however it does have very good airflow with all the ventilation holes in the panels.
I just moved my SFF build from the Dan LianLi A4 H20 into the NCase M2. Now I'm wishing I would have known this case was coming. I loved the A4 H20 build quality but it wouldn't fit the video card I wanted to use, ultimately. The NCase M2 is pretty good but it seems to scratch easily, and personally I'm not a fan of the flat pack assembly. After having gone through the build, I'd rather have a fully rigid outer frame. Yes it is very dynamic and adaptable to different build configs, but I don't like the fact that all of the pieces are held together with a couple of M3 screws. Until every single side of the chassis has been screwed down the case has a bit of flex to it. This makes it a bit precarious when moving it around during the build. I will definitely check out this new Antec for my next SFF.
it would be cool to have the mobo upside down and the gpu fans pointed toward the top of the case by pushing the spine all the way to one side. this could also allow for bigger cpu coolers or possibly a different layout to put a rad up there on the top. i like the red interior but i think the M2 has more layout options.
For anyone wondering Aventurine is a grayish green colour, not gunmetal as Jay states. As you cam imagine it looks a bit odd when paired with a red interior. The black is a much better combo.
A 1300 watt sfx/sfxl power supply is like watching Jay go into a Dodge dealership seeing the salesman approach Jay and ask "Hey, wanna test drive a Caravan?" Jay saying "No" and hearing the salesman say "You sure? It's got a Hemi.."
"Man, I wish we could mount it like this though..." If you can think it... you can print it. Whip up a stand that's a decent height off the surface to allow cables to be plugged in yet not too sharp a bend at the table, and have a hole to run them out one side. If I had that case and had the right hardware to build in it (current PC is far from SFF)...... I'd totally do it, even if I had to print said stand in two separate parts. Then a 280mm AIO would be easily possible for the CPU.
Haha! I was about to comment. That's more Canadian than Minnesotan. I refer to soda pop as soda but most upper midwesterners say "pop." In the actual midwest and south, it seems to vary much more amongst "pop," "soda," and "soda pop."
Amazing build quality, Nice to see Antec coming back, but I'll Keep my Dan Case A4-H20, it comfortably fits my secondary HTPC build Specs: 5700X3D, RTX 3090 Ti FE, SF750, and a 240 AIO and its half the size of this chassis
I think this case would lend itself to CPU's in the 65 watt range like those 9600X chips from AMD. While you might be able to get it working stably with a more powerful CPU most of them are at least 120 watt which would mean that finding an adequate cooler to fit in the case could be an issue. Unfortunately there is no space to fit an AIO so that limits what kind of CPU you could build in one of these cases.
Current have a Phanteks Shift 2 ITX case - basically for the vertical orientation - Like the case but cooling is S&*t. If Antec releases a mod to allow 1M case to be oriented vertically - would buy it in a heartbeat.
the 38mm extra height would've been worth it. I don't understand that design choice from antec. maybe they'll sell it as a "watercooler" bracket to support an AIO?
I would like a shorter and taller case for aio support. Or lose like 5-7 liters and just make it more compact. Kinda in the middle of wanting to be real small form and not. Design wise, it looks amazing.
The Antec comeback is real
Excited to see it too. Used to use nothing but their cases 15+ years ago. Would love to see them do an updated version of the 300 and 900 as throwbacks.

Haha! I was about to comment. That's more Canadian than Minnesotan. I refer to soda pop as soda but most upper midwesterners say "pop." In the actual midwest and south, it seems to vary much more amongst "pop," "soda," and "soda pop."
I'd love to see more SFF cases that support full sized PSUs. I want to do a SFF build, but i don't want to purchase a new PSU.
Personally, an expansion kit to provide RAID for 4 drive bays would be amazing, I wouldn’t even care if it required a second power supply.
Antec was PEAK back in they day...then disappeared? and now they came back and almost instantly got back to PEAK.
The black and red reminds me of Dale Earnhardt's cars. Black with red interior.
Very nice indeed.
Current have a Phanteks Shift 2 ITX case - basically for the vertical orientation - Like the case but cooling is S&*t. If Antec releases a mod to allow 1M case to be oriented vertically - would buy it in a heartbeat.
I hope they make something like the P180 with soundproofing :)
just done ncore 100 max bronze from cooler master with 14900k and msi rtx 4090, works very well, i am staying on SFF.
I just built in a Corsair 2000D, and i already want to rebuild. haha. This case is sweet!
the 38mm extra height would've been worth it. I don't understand that design choice from antec. maybe they'll sell it as a "watercooler" bracket to support an AIO?
Recently gone MATX to save space in an Lian Li A3 , honestly I wouldn't go back to ATX Cases, My 14900K and 7900XTX runs perfectly cool and quiet ❤️
Hello Fractal Design Terra. 🤗
I would like a shorter and taller case for aio support. Or lose like 5-7 liters and just make it more compact. Kinda in the middle of wanting to be real small form and not. Design wise, it looks amazing.
Reminds me of the original Droid Incredible with the red interior
