the originality was a big draw for me too and a true strong female lead. she remains strong and isnt overshadowed by Eli. the beginning was slightly uncomfortable but not a deal breaker for me personally also. everyone should give this a try. i binged it in a day

@@breannenicole9264 Recently a new manhwa called marriage and swords has started which is also action romance and comedy. It is pretty similar to light and Shadow.
Oh my god I love this manhwa! I love the detail they put into the story and, like everyone else, how consistently strong Edna is as a female lead without being overshadowed (pun not intended) by the complex character that is Eli. Edna and Eli are the titular light and shadow of the story, they act as yin and yang, the light with the dark (Edna who is the light with Eden representing her dark) while Eli is the dark with light (Eli representing the dark and Hayden representing his light). I've been keeping up with Golden Time as well which is decent, but I don't think is as well put together as Light and Shadow, but still worth a read.
I never even thought of the representation of each other & the name, it all makes so much sense now!
I too sort of blend out the problematic aspects of the first few chapters. But I absolutely love how much of a power couple Eden and Eli are - they are true equals. And I love the side characters like all of the knights. It's been a while since I've read it but it's definitely the most memorable, mainly cause of the fl
