You did a fantastic job. Love the design and use of the jig fastener system! I actually loved how you modified the jig to fit your specific design, totally cool with that my friend 😄
Truly aspirational video. The only thing to consider is your outdoor project videos make it feel like anyone can do it (I have thanks to you), but I don’t have most of the tools you just used. Just something to consider when choosing projects while expanding your reach. Awesome as always!!
@joelg598 ... Hopefully you meant "inspirational" not "aspirational" video (truly), since MB definitely did more than contemplate, dream or wish... Unless you mean that YOU aspire to do more but lack the tools? I'm going to jump on some of his affiliate links right now to support him as he branches into more indoor projects 🏆🔥🎉 - even though I'll only successfully aspire to complete woodworking projects. 😅😎🎓
Videos like this are exactly what I personally need more of. I can follow directions and reproduce things pretty damn well, but I lack the vision and knowledge of joinery at this time to envision something from scratch and make it happen. I found you years ago wanting to do concrete countertops (only tried the bathroom so far and they turned out great!) and am excited to learn more about woodworking too!
Would love to see some woodworking content from you. I remember a guitar layout in the background of your older content. Maybe an easy diy electric guitar build. Show off that it isn’t the tools that makes a great woodworking piece but the craftsman that makes it.
Great job. Best DIY workbench I've seen. Spurs more ideas. I think I would've added a solid pine flush edge to the entire top for a finished look and more durable than MDF
I can’t tell you how bad I wanted to add a hardwood edge around the top and laminate it after and then router a soft bevel… but I knew I couldn’t complicate the video anymore than I already had since I was going for quick and easy for the viewers sake. But man that would have looked great. I did that on my router station top and I love it
@MichaelBuilds with all the joinery you did (awesome job btw), the edge wouldn't be that hard. I would laminate like you did but not bevel the edge. Then add the edging and flush rout the edging to the top. I definitely follow your site and am contemplating pouring a concrete overlay on my not so level floor
You table top is my favorite part. It's more practical and easier to replace if needed. Have you considered running an outlet to the front of your table. If you do, I'd recommend a marine grade one with a cover to keep dust and liquids out in case a resin or cement project springs a leak.
12:52 Michael I always love your work, I am always so impressed. I need something for storage on the walls of my workshop. Can you think about maybe making something like that? Anything storage would be great for workshop improvements/ modifications. I have a more limited spare workshop. I made a portable/rolling work bench i csn also use as a feed for my saws. To help with space, I also made folding work benches on the walls. I've seen slat style walls with adjustable shelves, boxes, drill & battery storage, etc.. I'd love to see some easy ideas for these.
What a great looking piece. I hope you’re happy with it. I particularly like that you’ve used mortise and tenon joints throughout, rather than it being another build using pocket holes (I don’t have a problem with pocket holes, but it was nice to see what you did instead). Keep up the good work, keep making the videos, and enjoy what you do. Oh, and that jig - I’ve never seen that and I think it’s fantastic. I’ll certainly be giving that a go myself.
Excellent bench! Hopefully the perimeter edges of the MDF hold-up over time. I think I might have glued a thin strip of maple (any hard wood) around the edge of the bench top to keep the MDF from getting beat up. 🙂
when i do laminated tops, i put down plastic and then line up the top. stick down one end and slowly roll the plastic back as i go. never had a misstick since i switched to that method. a lot more idiot friendly, which is great for me.
Wonderful 🍻 🤔I don't know what, or if it's possible, but I think you need to do something with concrete and add it to the build. Like custom drawer pulls or something 🤷♂️ Could you make the knobs out of concrete and coat them with dyed epoxy so they look like concrete jewels? Just a thought, I'll stop rambling now 😅
Yes....I will be making a bunch for outside for my gardening.......do you have plans or a video on making a cabinet for a Bissell dart board.....I have a good idea.....and I'm going to try it with reclaimed pallet wood....any ideas??????
That would be cool the wood working. I do have a great idea. A woodworking project. It involves comic books, instead of those cardboard boxes for comic books. Why not make a really nice wooden comIc book file cabinet?
I have been wanting to do a concrete Les Paul since the day I started this channel! 🤣. Yes it does work because there have been at least 2 people that have done it. But they only do the body in concrete. I want to be the first to do the body AND NECK! Hahaha.
Lovely job but please for the love of god get a grripper or a push stick watching you push those 2b4s through the table saw all the way made me wince so bad
YES! I know that it's pronounced "F O R S T N E R" not foster. For some reason my mouth just doesn't want to say it the correct way LOL 🤣

This turned out so nice! Can't wait to see what you make on it and the cabinets and drawers you'll be adding. Well done!
THANKS ROCKLER!!!
That bench is 🔥🔥 Got me wanting to build a new bench now! 😅

I hear you! I have to remember that not everyone has the same tools, and I’ll try to be more mindful of that when I’m making videos. 🙌
Who knew, Mortar Mix Man had woodworking skills. Nice bench, great video.

I appreciate you saying that! I'm glad you like the video.

Yes please do more wood videos, by the way it’s a good looking bench.
Thanks!
Great job! Excited to see more wood working vids. Happy new year!
Yes! More woodworking vids!! 🙌
Happy New Year to you too! I've got a ton of woodworking projects planned for this year.

What a fantastic build Michael! Looking forward to your next video! Happy New Year! 👍👍💥💥
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
Having worked with laminate a lot at a cabinet shop, you can use lacquer thinner to disolve the contact cement and remove the laminate.
Jigs are a good thing it helps to keep things consistent.
Looks great. Templates rock! You should sell plans and templates!❤
I like your workbench. The only feature I dislike is using bolts & nuts the way you did. Great work.
Thanks Michael. I would love some woodworking videos. You do an awesome job with every video. Keep up the great work. Thanks again for sharing.
I suggest getting leveling rolling casters so you can also use it as an outfeed table for longer wood projects
Love it. I follow a wood worker in Australia, apparently they sell wood with a Formica like that already on it. Great job looks amazing
That sounds awesome! I wish we had that here.
@ me too
I’m looking at redoing my shop in the spring. First thing on my list is an outfeed table/work bench….. I think this is the design for it.
That’s cool! I’m going to make an attached out feed table for my table saw. I can’t wait.
Came out great! Man I need a jointer/planer. Milling makes such a huge difference in the finish product.
Absolutely love it. In the middle of building a small workshop for my teenage son for his computer and electronics projects. This will work fantastic.
Dang! That is awesome! I wish this was around last summer when I built my work bench.
as always looking great
Thank you! Glad you think so! ☺️
You might consider wrapping the top edge to protect it, and maybe a small round over for the bench holes.
Great video. Look forward to more woodworking videos
Great video and I appreciate the links to all products shown.

Vraiment top bravo
À bientôt
Some great tips in here that I hope I'll remember to use in future projects.
Just found your channel. Great job on the work bench. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with
Thank you so much and WELCOME TO THE CHANNEL!
Awesome build Michael! That bench is b-e-a-utiful! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! Sorry that I didn’t give you a better shout out tho…. Just had so much going on in this particular video.

Heeeeyyyyy Michael!!! 😁💕
Heeeeeyyy! ☺️
Rad video and great instructional build!

Amo la carpintería, pero detesto los manchados.
Izzy says use an extension cord instead of sticks to separate contact surfaces.
I saw that one!
What would you change if this was going to be on a covered outdoor patio?
That would be cool the wood working. I do have a great idea. A woodworking project.
It involves comic books, instead of those cardboard boxes for comic books. Why not make a really nice wooden comIc book file cabinet?
Sounds great!
You can get 3/8” dowel nuts from McMaster car fyi;)
great job! i cringed every time you said Fosner intead of forsner Awesome channel!!
🤣
Just before you said how bad the contact cement smells, I was thinking that stuff smells horrible…
🤣
nice! ty
Don't forget the "R" in Forstner.
But then you wouldn't have left a comment. 😂
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂@@barnettbuilds227

@ bro yes!!!!!!! You going to be able to get the neck relief right though? A truss Rod might snap it lol
