I always forget the high production value your videos have! So well edited and i LOVE the little touches you put on things. I've got that camera and Absolutely love it for the same reasons. If it was any better it'd almost be worse. Such a fun camera and a legitimately fun conversation piece.
what a wonderful review and from a kid of the 70s i love the option of reviewing and then printing ... i have elderly parents and the thought of giving them a picture straight away rather than waiting for me to pick or even find time to select a picture from my lightroom catalogue.
Thoughtful, purposeful composition is the foundation of great photography. I enjoy my camera in the same way you approach using one and for the same reasons. That it helps one to truly stop and smell the roses in life is a bonus. Your selection of images captured were all lovely compositions, kudos.
Your comments are spot on. Last week I saw someone shooting with the same camera and they seemed to really love it. Maybe I should get one myself one day.. :)
There was an event at the small company I work for and the "culture" team bought a run of the mill Polaroid for the occasion. Being the only one working there that knows anything about photography I offered to be the one taking all the pictures for the night. The camera served it's purpose in having a physical photo I could hand to people and the joy in their faces when they were handed their print was worth it, but the camera itself was lacking in all the ways you could imagine. This caused me to start looking into what was available these days and I came across the Instax and then this video popped up. I'm pretty much sold on it as while there's obviously all the limitations you mentioned, those limitations add to the appeal. That and being able to use it as a printer is a plus. Good video.
I own a pricey Leica (a gift from a friend) but I'm also a fan of Wm. Henry Fox Talbot and a practitioner of traditional photographic processes. So, yes - I'll buy one of these. Thank you for the celebrity endorsement! Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
Mat - I think I need one of those cameras... one pic a day to print and physically add to my journal might be the kick I need to open it and write... 🤔 (I'm unemployed due to Long Covid right now, and the price point is too high -- but I added it to my wishlist! Maybe my family could all add a few dollars towards it for Christmas... 😉)
It doesn't need to be perfect, just perfect for you.

This was a nice relaxing video, thank you for that.
I got one when it came out and it has lived in my closet since. Might need to take on the next shoot and print some photos.

bought this camera a while ago and was not impressed by what was similarly described in the beginning. but this take has changed my perspective on it!
