Charles Villiers Stanford was an Irish-born composer who studied at the University of Cambridge, UK, where he later became professor of rriusic. At the same time, he was professor of composition at the Royal College of Music in London. He was not only a prolific composer but also an influential teacher, whose pupils included Vaughan Williams, Holst, Ireland and Howells.

TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
ABRSM’s recommended tempo for this piece is 60 bpm and a nice smooth, calm feel is required. The opening bars seem to mimic the gentle rocking of a cradle and it is useful to keep this in mind when playing the whole of this piece. The left hand ties (on the G) in bars 17 and 18 are editorial suggestions only, so for illustration purposes, on bar 17 it has been played without the tie and on bar 18 with. It is probably more preferable to include the ties in both bars for a more legato effect, although if pedalling there would be hardly any difference, sound-wise. Watch out for dynamic changes along with the paused notes on the final bar.

Looks like you are not playing the last line correctly (bars 17 and 18), the G in bass clef is tied, but you are playing those notes separately.
