Loved Niles. The way they played off each other was great. I had a lot of laughs watching the show. As an animal lover Eddie stole my heart. Dad was wonderful and kept them grounded. Writers were amazing.

Without a doubt, my favorite episode is not so much an episode but the opening to one: The Valentine's Day one that opens with Niles waiting for his date and notices that his pants' crease was not perfect. What ensues is a progression of hilarity that culminates with him finally fainting at the sight of his own blood. I could watch that opening a thousand times and still laugh out loud.
David did an amazing job as Niles ,some actors are not crazy about Hollywood ,and I deeply respect that ,we can remember him as a star of Fraser but life goes on and he can do anything he wants with his endless talent, good luck David H Pierce ! We shall never forget you
Acting is a hard profession. I imagine it’s emotional to keep doing the same character for years. I’ve been involved with acting and there’s the stress of rehearsals, the excitement of doing a show and then when it’s over that’s another whole set of emotions. Don’t know but maybe he just doesn’t want to repeat the past.

His timing and comedic talent, to me, is unmatched, and I also commend him for his work with the Alzheimer's Association. What a legacy he will leave behind for all of us one day; one that he should be truly so very proud of.

Every character has to pull their own weight in order to achieve harmony in a series, and the sheer energy that David lent to the character of Niles is really what lifted Frasier off the ground. He made his character so neurotically lovable from the very first scene, it’s difficult to watch the Frasier reboot without him.

"The Show Where Diane Comes Back" was an episode of Frasier in season 3. It was not a Cheers episode, nor was Niles in Cheers as a one off, a recurring character or otherwise. He wasn't promoted to regular cast member in Frasier, it was where he first appeared. When Sam Malone visits Seattle in Frasier, he's never heard of Niles. He actually states that he didn't know Frasier had a brother.

It's a shame the majority of his fans will be denied his beloved character Niles Crane. We can appreciate his amazing skills as an actor and love of the stage but the majority of his fans will never be able to see him in those roles. To try to mimic his style and talent as Niles isn't really right, even as his son. There will always only be one Niles Crane. He IS on a current hit show ‘Julia’ on Max & it just premiered it’s second season. He plays Julia supportive, sophisticated husband. Pierce is entertaining in the role and I believe it may become more complex second half of this second season. I was going to say the same thing! I’ve always been a huge fan of David Hyde Pierce ever since watching him play Niles in Frazier and absolutely adored him in the HBO show Julia and was (not surprisingly) blown away by his performance in it. So I was taken aback by the title of this video??
Frasier has been such a lifesaver for my family! We discovered it when moved to the US with my twin boys (10 years ago) They were teenagers at that time and we were all having a though time adapting us to a totally different life. Watching Frasier all together was our moment of joy as a family 🤗 it also created a communication bridge between us. Plus, my sons remind me an awful lot to Niles and Frasier! 😅 My husband and I usually exchange glances when we recognize them in them! 😂😂😂 They are even physically alike! 😝 I wish we can meet Pierce one day and tell him how much his outstanding work helped us to get through that time 🙏🏻
Much as i would love to see Niles return, sometimes going back can never be the same. He clearly feels that his time has been served there and coming back might do more harm than good. The show was such a success because of the combination of characters who were all in sync with each other. They complimented each other and bounced off each other's personalities. It was the best show ever, i loved it, and it got me through a time of deep sadness after losing my mum to a massive heart attack. Niles was so funny and talented, and good looking. I respect his choice to move on in the direction he feels most content and happy in.
That was the beauty of the original 'Frasier". It wasn't the character of Frasier, but the incredible ensemble cast and great writing that made it such a hit. David Hyde Pierce can be greatly credited, with his iconic performance as Niles. The Crane brothers' friendship, banter, sibling rivalry was absolute gold, with Niles so often stealing the scenes. Pierce was a theater rat who had worked on a few movies as well, when he was cast for "Frasier". The role he'll always be best-known for. But, his first love is the theater. In regards to sequel series, Pierce had stated that he didn't want to play Niles again, just for the sake of doing it. There has to be real purpose. I respect him for that and can't blame him a bit. The new series has tried to fill that void some, by having Niles' and Daphne's son, Frasier's nephew, be a regular character. And of course, him have some of the same personality traits and nuances of his Niles. It's a rather lazy and desperate attempt on the new show's part, which frankly doesn't the clever, intellectual humor, interesting ensemble cast and magic that the original Frasier did. The original show didn't have to depend on guest stars from "Cheers" to help carry it. They merely complemented the series. Though the new series has had an appearance by Lilith, and soon one with Roz...it's depending too much on these cameos. An appearance by Niles or Niles and Daphne would certainly boost the ratings for that episode, but wouldn't help the show overall. So, there's no reason for Pierce to make an appearance, how long or brief the new Frasier is around.
David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney were my favorites on the show. This series was genius with their story lines and humor. I am hoping the new Fraiser is good. Kelsey has such a great talent and even though he played a ninny, he was so funny. One of my favorite scenes was when Fraiser told Daphane that Niles was in love with her. I hope David rethinks his decision and appears on the show. He was perfect in that role.
Frasier has to be my favorite TV show. I can recite by heart many of the episodes. David Hyde Pierce's portrayal of Niles is brilliant. My favorite episodes are probably "My Coffee with Niles" and "Moon Dance." I am saddened by the fact that he will not be in the reboot of Frasier, but I understand his reasons for leaving the character behind. I did get to meet him, and he was very sweet and funny.
DHP is at the top of my long and distinguished list of great actors of our time. He passed my test for great actors with his ability to play great comedy then turn around and play a great psycho role (The Perfect Host).
Somebody pointed out that his comedian talent has so many similarities in gesture, mimic and timing with Buster Keaton that I was blown away. It is true. He is a great classic comedian with a perfect stone face in the perfect moment, and the right amount of slapstick + an awesome vocal delivery.
My favorite Frasier episode is when Frasier gets a Life Achievement Award, has an anxiety and identity crisis, and talks with his mentor, Dr. Tewksbury. Tewksbury helps him through his crisis by having him play caller and Dr. Crane in both roles. It's my favorite Frasier moment when, after Tewksbury asks him, "Then why are you burying him in psychiatric exercises ?" Frasier responds to Tewksbury, "Because it's all I know !" Frasier then honestly responds to his "caller", "I'm sorry caller, I can't help you." I love when Frasier lets the air out of his windbag self, and this is the best example.
I always thought he should have had a spin-off. My favorite Frazier episode is “ Ham Radio” . Niles doing all the character voice completely impromptu was classic.
I would say that he is a phenomenal actor and it’s good to see him have fun doing all manner of things… Obviously it’d be so great for us to see about 50,000 more episodes of Niles and Frasier together again, because they truly were meant to play those roles… those pretentious Crane brothers! How brilliant they were… TV at its zenith.

I love Niles on Fraser! It’s understandable that everybody has to live their own lives for their own contentment. As a viewer we fall in love with the characters in a show and sometimes forget that they are actors playing a part! Frasier is my favorite show. When I heard about the reboot I was skeptical. But after seeing I I enjoyed it very much I like how Frasier is like martin a d now Freddy is the fraiser.. I enjoy Niles son too and yes I think it would be wonderful to See David back as Niles at least for one episode
I always enjoyed watching Frasier. Specifically for the blooming romance of Niles and Daphne. Then, I saw his movie, The Perfect Host, and remembered thinking, wow!, he is a versatile actor. I saw him perform decades ago at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At that time, he was just another actor on that tiny stage. I do remember it was Shakespeare, but I don't recall which play. ( I am REALLY reaching back into the vaults for this memory.) He was the perfect Niles Crane and a joy to watch. I'm so glad he is following his heart's desire.
I love Frasier! The entire cast was weird & wonderful! And I love the Frasier re-boot...it needs a little time to tweak, but so did Cheers, and so did Frasier. Pierce was a theater rat who had worked on a few movies as well, when he was cast for "Frasier". The role he'll always be best-known for. But, his first love is the theater. In regards to sequel series, Pierce had stated that he didn't want to play Niles again, just for the sake of doing it. There has to be real purpose. I respect him for that and can't blame him a bit. The new series has tried to fill that void some, by having Niles' and Daphne's son, Frasier's nephew, be a regular character. And of course, him have some of the same personality traits and nuances of his Niles. It's a rather lazy and desperate attempt on the new show's part, which frankly doesn't the clever, intellectual humor, interesting ensemble cast and magic that the original Frasier did. The original show didn't have to depend on guest stars from "Cheers" to help carry it. They merely complemented the series. Though the new series has had an appearance by Lilith, and soon one with Roz...it's depending too much on these cameos. An appearance by Niles or Niles and Daphne would certainly boost the ratings for that episode, but wouldn't help the show overall. So, there's no reason for Pierce to make an appearance, how long or brief the new Frasier is around.

David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney were my favorites on the show. This series was genius with their story lines and humor. I am hoping
the new Fraiser is good. Kelsey has such a great talent and even though he played a ninny, he was so funny. One of my favorite scenes was
when Fraiser told Daphane that Niles was in love with her. I hope David rethinks his decision and appears on the show. He was perfect in
that role.
I was so in love with Niles, when I was a teenager. I thought he was one of the main reasons to watch Frasier.
Frasier has to be my favorite TV show. I can recite by heart many of the episodes. David Hyde Pierce's portrayal of Niles is brilliant. My favorite episodes are probably "My Coffee with Niles" and "Moon Dance." I am saddened by the fact that he will not be in the reboot of Frasier, but I understand his reasons for leaving the character behind. I did get to meet him, and he was very sweet and funny.
DHP is at the top of my long and distinguished list of great actors of our time. He passed my test for great actors with his ability to play great comedy then turn around and play a great psycho role (The Perfect Host).
Somebody pointed out that his comedian talent has so many similarities in gesture, mimic and timing with Buster Keaton that I was blown away. It is true. He is a great classic comedian with a perfect stone face in the perfect moment, and the right amount of slapstick + an awesome vocal delivery.
My favorite Frasier episode is when Frasier gets a Life Achievement Award, has an anxiety and identity crisis, and talks with his mentor, Dr. Tewksbury. Tewksbury helps him through his crisis by having him play caller and Dr. Crane in both roles. It's my favorite Frasier moment when, after Tewksbury asks him, "Then why are you burying him in psychiatric exercises ?" Frasier responds to Tewksbury, "Because it's all I know !" Frasier then honestly responds to his "caller", "I'm sorry caller, I can't help you." I love when Frasier lets the air out of his windbag self, and this is the best example.

It’s totally up to him to return as Niles, but in my opinion, he and Kelsey Grammar were one of the best comedy teams the US has ever produced!
I always thought he should have had a spin-off. My favorite Frazier episode is “ Ham Radio” . Niles doing all the character voice completely impromptu was classic.

I would say that he is a phenomenal actor and it’s good to see him have fun doing all manner of things… Obviously it’d be so great for us to see about 50,000 more episodes of Niles and Frasier together again, because they truly were meant to play those roles… those pretentious Crane brothers! How brilliant they were… TV at its zenith.
Best comedy of all time. The whole cast and writers were outstanding. You couldn't even pick a favourite. Niles, Frasier, Marty and Roz were comedy geniuses. Martys smile melted my heart. ❤
Niles was they ONLY reason I watched Fraiser!! Niles and Daphne were my favorites on the show. I have the dvds and only watch the episodes with those two characters. Hope he embraces what he brought to that role. Love him for it!❤

I love Niles on Fraser! It’s understandable that everybody has to live their own lives for their own contentment. As a viewer we fall in love with the characters in a show and sometimes forget that they are actors playing a part! Yes I wish Niles would be part of the new series, but he is very successful in everything he does. Wishing him great happiness in his life and a big thank you for all his work that we enjoy. I will always have a crush on Nile’s though!🙏❤️🎼

Interesting video, never knew any of this. it sounds like he felt he played that character for long enough and was simply ready to move on, never really watched Frasier, but I knew friends who loved it.
He is an amazing actor, so talented. Nothing more difficult to act than in comedies and he is absolutely MARVELOUS!
I so hope Pierce returns on Frazier even if just for a few sporadic appearances- it would be lovely.
David should know that he inspired so many H.S. students in my classes. His biggest compliment was when they were asked how many years did they think Pierce studied acting, generally they said none. Why? Because it was an effortless, genuine performance. Bravo David!!

Frasier is my favorite show. When I heard about the reboot I was skeptical. But after seeing I I enjoyed it very much I like how Frasier is like martin a d now Freddy is the fraiser.. I enjoy Niles son too and yes I think it would be wonderful to See David back as Niles at least for one episode

I always enjoyed watching Frasier. Specifically for the blooming romance of Niles and Daphne. Then, I saw his movie, The Perfect Host, and remembered thinking, wow!, he is a versatile actor. He's a fantastic and talented human being. I'm sad I'm not able to see his physical comedy anymore and would love to see him in more things but I'm so glad that he's doing what he loves. I will watch the Frasier reboot regardless.

I agree with you. Frasier is a very tasteful and tactful comedy show and really makes me laugh. I do have a very soft spot for David Hynde though and it can't be easy kissing women if you are a gay man. He should stick to comedy and if he was straight he is the kind of man I would fall in love with. 😊❤

One of my favourite comedy series ever. The acting was superb the writing brilliant. My favourite show was the one where Fraser is cooking with the chimp. David Hyde Pierce is such a monumental talent. His passion at this time is theatre so that's what I believe he should pursue, however, I must say that "Frasier" remains my favorite comedy (of my lifetime!) and that's because I found him to be 'over the top' funny and entertaining.

Always enjoyed DHP in his high jinx!! Life is to be enjoyed for the time we rent on this planet. It would have been a joy to see him in the revival of the Cranes but, his choice for his path is just that. Good luck to his future paths . I saw him perform decades ago at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At that time, he was just another actor on that tiny stage. I do remember it was Shakespeare, but I don't recall which play. ( I am REALLY reaching back into the vaults for this memory.) He was the perfect Niles Crane and a joy to watch. I'm so glad he is following his heart's desire.
I love Frasier! The entire cast was weird & wonderful! And I love the Frasier re-boot...it needs a little time to tweak, but so did Cheers, and so did Frasier. And, although I miss Niles & Daphne, their son, David, is their perfect, quirky offspring! And it is sweet to see the new bar hangout named Mahoney's...makes me smile every time I see it💜💜💜

I love his character.. because I once pinned for someone that never knew I loved them..I could see his passion for Daphne and struggle with holding back telling her.. I wish he would come back to the new Frasier, even if it's just part-time.
