I’ve recently renewed my subscription and for anyone considering jumping on board for just over £1.00 per week you won’t find better value for your money every week it’s pure magic Brian you’re a genius so looking forward to the next 12 months. Thanks 🎸
100% agree - even for a Canuck with the crazy exchange rate, absolutely the best value.
You are a very good teacher. You show it with a lot of patience.
Such a great lesson. Thanks for always including the basics and pointing out connections for those of us who are new players. We need the lightbulb moments! 😀
This is exactly what I’m looking for with my current understanding of things. Perfect! Thanks.
Brian is such a great guitar teacher, I love his lessons, he makes it so much easier for intermediate players like me to grasp the principles behind it all
I just love how you take simple ideas & make great music. Your teaching style is so easy to follow. You're a great guy. Cedric.
You’re a great teacher. I’ve been playing since 1974 and I’m still learning stuff from you. Thanks.
Can’t believe I didn’t find you until now. This was what I was looking for. Love the country style!
Fantastic. This is helping me link caged shapes to licks and major pent patrrns! TY!
Amen 🤘🏻
Nice so important for a guitarman to know this is what im looking for thank you sir for sharing this
Another great video. I have been playing guitar for 30 years or so and have never really left the comfort of the cowboy chords... Your lessons have unlocked the rest of the fret board for me in a way that even I can understand... Thank you. You are the best teacher on UA-cam as far a I am concerned...
This is an impressive lesson. Thank you for describing the relationships between the chords and licks and the scales they emerge from. One of the best lessons I’ve seen. Great tune, explanation and demonstration. And as you clearly say, very portable. Thank you.
You are an amazing teacher! Thank you!
Took me a couple of weeks, but I’m just about there with this one! Cheers.
Very clear and helpful. Beneficial and enjoyable lesson. Thank you for all of your tips!
Geweldig. Hier kan ik wat mee. Ik ben al 70 jaar oud en pas 1 jaar bezig met gitaar spelen. Dit is een geweldige hulp. Dankje. Dirk 744 Nederland.
Dear sir, this video like many others that you have made with the same method are the best that can be found. I've only been following your channel for a long time and I've improved a lot not only in technique but also in understanding music. Thank you. From Spain.
Love this lesson. It really makes playing by yourself a lot more fun.
Thanks mate..I am from Fiji always listening to your music theory made so easier yet so powerful...
Thank you sir.I learned a alot from your guitar lessons.greetings from PNG
Lots of lightbulbs, thanks so much
GREAT LESSON… Always Enjoy your lessons
Brian! They are focused to where we can apply it to our playing in an understandable manner… THANK YOU!
Thanks for this video, I've watched it nearly 20 times and have learned something new every time. I would love to see more.
Just fantastic as always
Everyone should subscribe to active melody
Thank you. Good explanations and connecting shapes and licks
Your great!¡!!!!! Easy to understand. Thank you!!!!
Perfect lesson for us cowboy chord intermediates. Beginning to hear the chord/scales skipping along holding hands
Just wish I could play like this guy. Simple so brilliant. The chord shapes connected to pentatonic scales is just a really good way to focus at to begin.
The lightbulb went off. I'm getting it. It's starting to make sense. Thank you
Thanks very much Brian for another well explained excellent lesson. You’re a great teacher that makes it fun to learn, which brings music easier to the player! Never stop teaching country! Thanks again!
Wow I’ve come back to this lesson it’s got to be the best video you ever did. I grab a new idea from this every time
Thanks for this post! Grateful for UA-cam!
I like the way you show the notes and tabs superimposed throughout the lesson. it helps me alot to see exactly what your doing and what I need to do. I have watched a few different UA-cam instructors , most are helpful for a stuggling player like me. One thing I find most difficult is the timing of the notes. I usually rnd up with a totally different tune, but it's still great to have a template to try to follow. Thanks for your videos.
dont ever doubt the amount of beginners you are helping... my fingers cant bend as i would like but at 58 i am over joyed to make a tone lol... and your viewing numbers tell the truth . youre great teacher. big wave from uk,
Thank you. I started following you years back when I bought a guitar. I have learnt most of my guitar skills from you and guess what I play in the church now! Mostly your teachings. You are a great teacher and guitar player. 👏👏👏
I can easily say your one of the best tutors on youtube my friend. Thank you so much. You make it really simple...🫠🙃
Very useful lesson. Thank you, Brian! 👍🏽
As usual excellent lesson Brian!!
Gave me tons to work with, very helpful, thank you!❤
I love your approach
Truly inspiring
Hi Brian greetings from the UK, I really enjoy your lessons...takes me some time to learn but I find it challenging, rewarding and very enjoyable... when I finally nail it.
Many thanks Gary
Thanks very much. Thanks for being.
I loved this lesson. It reminded me of my favorite song by blues Man Jimmy Reed, honest I do. So I quickly worked out a finger style version of the song and it was really easy. The song has some of the best fill licks ever. I would’ve never thought to do that but everything fit perfectly with today’s lesson. Thanks again. Your lessons make my life better. Have a great day.
Thanks Brian. I am so thankful to have found active melody and become a premium member! You're a gifted teacher! The membership is an excellent value. Great lesson!
Thanks Brian another great lesson that helps me play alone and connects cords and simple solo licks. I started your courses several months ago and have learned so much from your lessons and teaching methods. I love the way you break things down to the basics.
Sweet sounding guitar
Great lesson again ! Thanks
I always feel that you’re very thoughtful of others, but now I just heard you prove it. So cool 😎
Absolutely loved this lesson, just what I was looking for. Thank you!
your following attests to your abilities as a producer and teacher
I usually don’t have the energy to listen through a full video of yours. When I do, I usually end up with broken pieces of different ideas. However I really appreciate this particular lesson because it gives a full loop with something fun to practice.
My favorite guitar teacher. 👍🏻
Good day. It’s so good to mention IMPORTANT things even if it’s going over things you have thought before. Great video again. Will get the premium membership today excited to learn more from you and as a big thanks for all your videos that have helped on this new journey 🎸. Thanks
Sounds like a happy fun song. I'm not sure why it seems more difficult than it should.
I'm kinda starting over after not playing for 30 years. Love all your videos and appreciate the way you think and visualize the fret board.
God bless ya.
I regret stopping playing. Hope to get the joy back. Thanks !
new viewer, very happy with your presentation + tabs
Thank you for the lesson with tabs, I appreciated too much
Great lesson Brian. I’ve been a Premium member for a few months now and have learnt so much. Thank you and Gday from over the big pond!!

Really good man I really appreciate what you’re doing. I’ve been at it for a long time and never knew 1/10 of what you’ve taught me greatly appreciated. It still may not be able to play it but at least I get it.😅
Good lesson . Hamster is spinning the wheel faster and my light is getting brighter .. I always come away with something useful to my playing from your videos ... thks
This lesson is terrific. It has opened up a lot of options for me, really freed me up to enjoy this style of playing with improvising.
Really good vid. You're a go to channel. Many thanks.
Great lesson, love that Martin, one of your best guitars ever! 😊🎼🎸👍
Thanks for another helpful video, as I find it easy to relate to your videos because you break things down so that us mortals can understand. It's like you put yourself in our shoes. Also, the tab on screen is very helpful.
You keep coming out with amazing lesson videos...the guitars you play aren't bad either 🤘
I really enjoyed this, am trying to reignite my love of guitar playing
Yey yes!!! Thanks Brian 😮 I had fun while learning. I am getting sm o o ther in my changing from lead back to rhythm & Vice versa 😂🎉 y ay. I like it when I see progres in my playing. Cool thanks 👍
Another great lesson
I truly love teaching method ...yiu even remind me of Jerry branch from the stratoblasters in dallas who was my teacher back in the day.
Thanks for the great video! Very informative. One thing that occurred to me during the video is the role that the A7 plays leading to the D chord: Even though the flat 7 is not part of the scale, it is approaching the D as though it were the V7 chord of the D. I've used 'approaching from the V' as a technique for modulating to a new key as I've heard so many times in great music. I greatly appreciate what you're doing for us.
Ash
Well explained lesson. I just need to practice it a few times.
I see the light from your teaching.
I love this you never what kind of adventure you going to go on sometimes I even impress myself I sit on green onions for a hour or so sometimes filling in
Veryveryveryvery nice! I learned, i understand, and i can play! Thank you very much!!!
I appreciate your lesson so much. I can play the notes with a lot of practice. Getting it to flow like a song will take much more practice. It's a great share, thanks.
I’ve been playing 1 year & probably did this without realising the connections. This can take you to many places!
Brian Awesome lesson so easy to understand the way you present it
You make it simple! Thanks!
Great Lesson!!
I so much enjoy your lesson style. You keep it engaging and you have a TON of information in a short amount of time! I am always amazed at how little I know after years of "playing."
A very interesting lesson. WOW. Hope I can learn all by heart. Thank you so much !
Thanks for the lesson
Short but oh so sweet, thanks Brian!👍🎸🇨🇦

Tremendously useful video which can translate to all sorts of genres. It'll take me a few views before I get it, but it'll definitely be well worth it. More of these embellishment tutorials please. Thanks so much 👍
Excellent lesson! So many valuable insights to help unlock the potential of the fretboard. Love that OOO-18, too!
This is a really great one!! So many little things in here to implement into your blues !!
Genius. I can use this in shuffle and hopefully to add to 3 chord strum songs with my playing buddies.
Just lovely
