I’ve got to say as someone with mobility issues I would take the liminal 11 boxes over a tuck box every time. I find opening tuck boxes incredibly hard, but the liminal 11 ones are such a big because everything just slides out easily and the magnetic opening is nice and easy to use. I feel like I’m the only person who loves their boxes 😭 hate the littol hardback books though, they’re so useless half the time
Oh that's a fair point, tuck boxes can be so fiddly! It irks me so much how the deck and the book are never the same size so they don't fit neatly together. Especially when the books are... not that great 😅
@@TarotMagpie I take the cardboard out so I don’t notice the size difference too much - everything just slides right out! Interestingly, the Citadel oracle is currently OOP in the UK and from looking at the Amazon pre order for it, it looks like it’s with a different publisher. I’m intrigued to see if that means any changes as I actually think the citadel is one of the better ones when it comes to the guidebook etc. I got the Luna sol recently and love it so much but the cardstock is a nightmare and the book is so lacking. I thought they had a big guidebook for it but it only had descriptions of the major arcana and then the minor was just colouring pages 😑😑😑 given that’s the deck by the owners of liminal 11 it explains a lot. I don’t get what they have against the minor arcana

Almost all my decks fall into this neglected category because I really haven’t been able to work or connect to my magick for a few years… thankfully this is coming back and I just need a good supportive environment now. Definitely planning some deeper dives with my decks afterwards
Bonefire has become my personal deck. I can't read for anyone else with it, and it was such a surprise. I wasn't initially drawn to the artwork style and that's what held me back from buying it. The size is perfect. Card stock is chef's kiss. The price is really good, especially for me as a Canadian. Stuff is so much more expensive here. The guidebook is amazing and I love that she describes her vision for each card (not spared on the pips). The extra symbolism index at the end of each page is so helpful.
I think the artwork is wonderful (when I say chaotic, it’s a compliment!), I just struggle a little with visually separating the cards. I expect as I get to know them it will get easier, and the guidebook seems amazing too - especially with the minors getting lots of love 🥰
The visual processing thing makes so much sense, it’s why I’ve never picked up a black and white deck, but also the bonefire or similarly chaotic colourful decks, I love them in theory but I can feel the amount of effort it would take to sit and pick out everything I need to from the cards!
The bonefire needs a black backdrop and like, three cards max. I think it's worth it only because there is so much intention behind all the symbols and visual chaos!

I had just bought so many decks in a short space of time and I was feeling bad for neglecting them.. I also did a video of my 10 most used decks and then felt a bit better 😂 I have plans for my neglected decks this year so it was a good process.

Haha, I am so here for your issues with the Liminal 11 decks. I don't own any of theirs but I have had the chance to see them in real life and I agree with you...And I am drooling every time you show the Eldritch Overload Tarot.
This year I went through my tarot journal and picked 4-6 different decks for each for each month. That way all my decks will be used at least a couple of times this years.
I've seen that and I like the look of it, but I'm holding off until I have better knowledge about different mushroom species. The art is so pretty though! 🍄

Is the New Chapter tarot‘s cardstock similar to the Modern Witch (also by Liminal 11)? I **really** love the art style, but I hate super thick plasticy cards. 😂 My poor experience with modern witch tarot made me wary of any Liminal 11 products lol
I don’t know about the modern witch, but I’ve had/handled a few of their other decks and the cardstock feels the same as those - this one is matte rather than glossy, but still pretty thick. Hope that helps!
Ooo yah I’ve mentioned making videos of spreads from guidebooks before and I think Juli was going to do it at some point as well. I never did because I’ve waffled on whether it’s like the right thing to do or not like flipping thru a guidebook to give someone an idea of what is inside is one thing but like idk is it okay to be sharing that depth of IP with others?? Idk!! I tend to not care about things like that but I think I couldn’t decide so I just didn’t. Curious what you or others might think! If it’s cool my thought was that it would be a cool tag to include others in like your favorite guidebook spreads and do them instead of a stand alone series on one persons channel
Yeah that's the thing, I'm not sure the best way to do it that isn't sharing so much of someone's IP! That would be a cool tag though, maybe that's the way to go

Oh that IS a lot of air! More of my chart actually sits in water than anything else but I was raised in a house of air signs, and my partner now is also a Libra so I am definitely most at home with the airiness 😂 I'm with you on the bonefire - I really like the size, but I also think it's a shame that the images were cropped in to lose the gradient border - and also I WISH it still had a border for a borders sake!

I doubled my deck collection in 2023 while neglecting everything to exclusively use one deck for the past 8 months 🫠 but I got so many interesting new ones that have sat untouched for far too long that I’m going to have to give the attention they deserve this year and be more strict with myself about buying

I don't mind the box, but the teeney-tiny books font size is far too small for my eyesight even with my reading glasses on! 😅

Yeah the cardstock is... not great, especially for a riffle shuffle sadly. The Eldritch Overload seems like such a Kelly deck I have to say!

It's such a fun deck, and it's a much less (visually) dreary and depressing take on cyberpunk than a lot of other media which is cool too 🥰

Yep, I indulged in a lot of new decks last year and I don't regret it, but I want to focus more on using my collection than growing it this year 😅
