Dude, that was a hell of a whiting. I have never caught one that big in NJ. That’s an OBX sized whiting, (or as they call it mullet)

I’ll be in stafford township sept 5 for a week. It’s my sons bday got any tips for what and where to target fish. We live in the finger lakes and fish mostly fresh water. Our only salt water fishing experience is on charter boats

Eric- Blowfish are a great eating fish. It is a nice chunky, white fish. With that being said, fying them like any other white fish is my go to option. The have a bone down the middle of their back that connects to the tail. Make a cut right behind the head and turn the fish inside out. Many videos available on how to clean. The skin is like sand paper so I suggest gloves. May ppl leave the meat on the bone/tail and fry like that. This makes eating it like eating a chicken wing.

I will tell you the beaches of the rariton river clifffwood and bay bridge.brick beach island beach state park.and ocean township.this guy is all about equipment not fish.sandy hook is also a hotspot
You should try bunker heart the fish goe fucking crazy for that stuff. Heart exposed on the hook.

Thought about purchasing one, but Bote makes a fishing stand up paddle board. For my transportation mght be a little easier to get back and forth.
