People seem to keep missing the message about that “I wouldn’t have lost the battle…” line. In Cole’s defense, he thought shit was gonna be a competitive fight between artists to test the penmanship, little did he know just some time later he’d come to learn that Drake was stirring some personal shit towards Dot. Cole took notices and backed off because he knew this wasn’t his fight and he’d just do him til things die down. Can’t honestly blame him be cause he’s a mediator by nature. On the other side of the coin, we’ve pretty much never seen Cole go bar for bar competitively against another artist yet, which still made his whole dropping out look bad for the sport of hip hop as a whole. Plus he should have just given the real reason at that show to begin with.
I agree but he should've known beforehand that it had to potential of getting ugly, especially since Drake is in the beef and all his beef's required him calling out rappers BM's. Cole also been secretly throwing shots for years at anybody that wants the crown. He put himself in the Big 3 category, just to ultimately back out and address everything 6 months later.
