Damon's gift is of true collaboration of the noblest , purest form. Collaboration in which each contributor is actually able to infuse their own style/ input into it, as opposed to simply being a sound byte pasted on top of someone else's creation. All the parts are so seemlessly and inextricably sewn into a unified whole. Every time. This came thru SO CLEARLY when I saw Gorillaz live a few years ago. It was at the depths of Trump's reign , and to see all these utterly diverse musicians truly sharing the stage and sharing joy .. it just felt like EXACTLY what the world needed.. I totally cried.
Damon Albarn has such a powerful energy. I got more into his discography few months ago and I don't regret it at all. I'm looking forward to dig deeper.

Yeah, I'd probably start tearing up to. Something visceral and raw about singing in your mother tongue that it flows through your DNA, and to be a witness to someone older, and wiser effortlessly singing with her heart and soul hits you different. I remember hearing my uncle singing in Spanish when he would get drunk and entertain people because he sang like it was his song, and it sounded beautiful... Idk maybe I'm thinking to much into it, and maybe they are just crying because Damon really loved their singing
