If you're opening K40 Whisperer and clicking on "Initialize Laser Cutter," but nothing happens, there are a few things you should check. First, make sure your cable connections are secure. You should also check if your computer recognizes the USB connection, as you may have an issue with your operating system. If you're still having trouble, try installing K40 Whisperer on another computer to see if it works there. If you're still having issues, it's possible that the M2 Nano motherboard has a problem. In that case, you may need to consider replacing it. These are your options.
Hello! This laser in my video cannot cut any thickness of aluminum. You need minimum 100W co2 laser to cut and engrave that size of aluminum, but for working with metals, a better fit are FIBER LASERS. Those are used in industry to cut small thickness of aluminum and engrave them. All the best!
Great video. I just got my k40. How are you setting the focus for thicker material vs thinner material? Also, have you tried a rotary on the k40? Finally, have you added a knozzle for air assist? If so what pump and nozzle did you get? Thanks. After about 7 videos I finally found one to truly get me started.
Hi, I'm just wondering if the only steps with grounding is to check the power plug, and sand the little grounding bracket. You don't need to earth the machine, do you? The safety part of your video put the fear of God into me, that's all. I can't wait to check out your video on centering the beam. Great video, so thanks!!!
You sand there and put that bracket to make sure the grounding (earth) from your plug is connected to the case - so in case your power supply or the wire from laser, that have lots of voltage is failing and giving voltage to the case, you will be safe - but anyway, your plugs must have grounding, it is specified in the video.
For the first one that came broken, I have requested a refund, after making a video confirming that the laser is broken, so I bought the second one. The laser was again broken, so I have decided to replace only the tube. So asked for a partially refund, put some extra pennies, and bought a higher quality tube and replaced it myself. The tube is still working this day. So yes, you are safe on both aliexpress or ebay. If your item comes broken, you will be able to refund.
hi, i dont have mA meter on my k40 machine, only adjustable power. what power do you advice to engrave and cut for example a 3mm plywood. I usually use 100mm/s with 10 power... i dont even know what that 10 means. I think i dont get good result as i saw other people do on youtube. And, can you share how do you finish your engrave?
I could not know because that power you are using it's not calibrated on anything ... I really recommend putting an ampmeter of ~30 or 40 miliamps so you can see what that power you have means. Then we can talk about cutting speeds. I usually engrave with 6-8 miliamps and speed from 150 to 300mm/s and cut with 12ma and speed from 13 to 15 mm/s (on poplar plywood).
Any laser machine has safety concerns. It's true that with this specific one you have to be more careful, but if you follow the advices in this video, I assure you everything is 100% fine. If you're using it in an apartment, than most likely your grounding works. The big issue is with the smoke. In an apartment you will need to buy some special smoke filter, which is pretty expensive, and I'm pretty sure your neighbours won't like the smoke, if you plan to evacuate the smoke outside. I used it once in my apartment and my neighbours were not happy :)).
The water pump usually comes with k40. That means you can recirculate water, but not cool it. If you have to do only short time engravings or cuttings and your room temperature is not high, you don't need any water chiller. You need to keep the water at ~20 degrees celsius.
