Nell got her diploma from high school her friend criticize her for not having a high school diploma but she did get her diploma then went to glenlawn college
It took me about 30 years and on UA-cam to find out what that "blockbuster" joke was all about! I never made the connection between "illegitimate" and "black bastard"! I wonder what Nell thought the whole inscription said: "You're a black bastard"? Did Addy write "What a blockbuster!" Or maybe it was simply "Blockbuster!", although that doesn't seem like a full inscription
So THIS is why Nell acts the way she does towards Addy. She never got over this & always let her different opinions between addy get under her skin. Too, addy ends up being her closest friend but isn’t she best friends with the chief’s wife that passed?
This show is funny as hell... I love old shows... all in the family, Jefferson’s. Taxi, good times.. stuff like that...
Ditto. It reminds me of what the "air" of the country was when I was young, the concerns we had, the fears, and of course, the classic Nell Carter.
"Amos and Andy" is funnier than all of them.
I miss Nell she was great gimmie a break Never gets old
I love this show the 80s will go down in history as the best decade ever
That, and the 90's 🙂
Laura, yesssss
@@kimmyhawk5612 everything but this decade lol
Laura: Well, for me it was. But I'm sixty-six years old now. So it's relative to one's age really.
That & the 70s. Great times. You had to be there. Fortunately I was & wouldn't trade my experience or fond memories of that decade for the world!
Entire cast was delight ful!
❤ this show is so awesome. Never gets old.. classic. One of the best shows ever
"That's a big job, don't louse it up." Neil and her comebacks were on point!

Please yes it would. Folks would just have to get over it.
11:54 - does that lady look a bit like Barbra Streisand? She should if she's Barbra's half-sister Roslyn Kind.
