To me, Diana is growing into this role really well. Has done a great job with the new material and now mastering the back catalog. You can hear the quality of her voice and how well she controls it. Some of these songs are never going to be easy to master because Charlotte brought her originality to them, but what I hear is a really good vocal ability mastering these songs, but making them her own too. It's not just a copy, it's bringing her own personality to them. Hearing Diana do the end vocal for not enough (my fav Delain track);just shows how well she is getting the older music mastered so good for Delain and Diana ❤❤

I am a huge Delain fan, I love Charlotte. Yes, Charlotte was, but now is happy following her own path. What people need to realize is this is a career like everyone has, opportunities come you must follow. Diana is doing an amazing beautiful job filling a demanding position. Knowing she would be judged. Look at what happened to Nightwish after tarja. They had Annette. Who was instantly bullied, she did some great songs, then they blossomed to Floor. Diana is doing amazing, I'd love to hear her do Pristine. On the we are the others...Where's the blood? But over all beautiful job Diana keep making it your own, cause it is now your show.)0(

Diana is amazing person and nice vocalist. I’m not comfortable with the way Delain got. Not only the behaviour (a statement saying it would be only a solo project followed by a new band and tours…) but also the music. Is not good, in my opinion. It doesn’t mean we have to bully Diana or new members.
@@dagonluke Martijn thought it wouldn't be possible to continue as a band since he was alone with Guus, but old band members returned and together with the new members they decided to continue as a band. To me there is nothing strange about that actually. I love the new album and Im really happy the typical Delain style is there.
I'd like to hear Diana singing "Silhoutte of a dancer" and "See me in shadow".
I can't even begin to imagine how wonderful it must be, to perform so exquisitely well singing all those songs you listenned to as a fan before, in the place of a great singer you adored and adore still, growing up listenning to her voice. Taking up such a role is a tremendous task, but let me tell you, Diana, you can truly be proud of what you give to us, fans. If you only enjoyed singing these songs half as much as I enjoyed listenning to them, it'd still be an undescribable pleasure.
Thank you, for not only honouring both Charlotte and Delain, but also keeping the legacy of the band alive, all the while pouring your heart and soul into performing, with such astonishing effect that it moves the world.
And yes, listenning to Not Enough brought tears of joy to my eyes. Your emotions vibrate through it.

I made a comment a while back on a video when you announced a tour and I was annoyed that no Glasgo date with included. The response was a positive one saying how much you enjoyed playing the cathouse and Glasgow for that matter and I'd see you in good time.. Sadly it will be the Garage this time around not the cathouse. It's been so long since I've seen you live I can't wait!

dont get me wrong love the new album best so far in my opinion and dianas voice is AMAZING ! I just wish it was abit more growl with clean togheter but thats just a person opinion this music style is so good with male growls and female voicals ^^

Нет тут никакого "плюса" Шарлотты, да и зачем? У Delain есть в архиве мультитреки ко всем песням - для Дианы точно не проблема достать любой "минус" и записать все вокальные линии самостоятельно. И я даже не уверен что здесь гитары сохранены оригинальные - на альбоме их звук немного другой.
Now listening to the „old“ songs I feel like Diana’s voice fits perfect to melodic, harmonious songs and words. Charlottes voice has/had a deep punch for harsh and tough sounds and words be sung. Voice lies in personality and that’s good! -It’s still „we are the others“ but it’s a new song. ..
No for me. You cant replace the perfection that was Charlotte.

I feel like this shows exactly why you are such a perfect fit for delain, you are similar to Charlotte but at the same time bring your own style to these songs and I love it.
I don't think that recording old songs is a bad idea like some comments here because you are now a part of delain and what is better than having a good version of a great song? Have two of them!

Delain is much better than WT right now. WT was good until Hydra, then they became something very different. Pop like sounding, thats not my cup of tea. Delain still sounds as they always sounded. That's why we love them. Keep up the good work!

@@rickrack4812 Yes, I have. They are still on that path what they have started with Hydra and then continued with Resist. Just compare them with their previous albums. The Heart of Everything, The Silent Force or even with The Unforgiving was totally different sounding and personally that's why I loved them. Their new era is just not my world. They sound totally different compared to their previous themselves. Sharon told about that change just before she released her solo album, My Indigo. But that's ok, they have changed. Some people like the new WT and some people don't. Personally I don't.
@ they are not the stagnant band that YOU seem to wish them to be. Retro 80s sound, like HYDRA, A VERY GOOD ALBUM, are the trend, along with synth and industrial for the harsh contrast.
Even DELAIN , WHO, WITH CHARLOTTE, have usually been "poppy" (which you state your dislike for, regardless) , have gone very retro 80s with DARK WATERS, aka JOURNEY like hints or other...Martijn even stated these 80s influences. AND LOVELY DIANA LEAH is more pop tone than anyone in the genre cluster... Maybe with exception of Elize Ryd's power pop sound, and Sharon's mix of pop with symphonic... Diana LOVES Sharon and has sung WT covers.
@@rickrack4812I must agree with him. WT sounds not that creative anymore. A little bit generic. Resist has still some nice songs, but the current songs are not that unique anymore. The older albums feel just more unique in sound. Especially the really old songs like Ice Queen or Mother Earth - these first 2 albums were again else and the most unique ones.

I hold Charlotte incredibly high,and i always thought her voice was perfect for Delains sound. Of course as a simple man,i also found her absolutely gorgeous. We Are The Others is one of those songs i hold high. I like the message of the song,i often feel like "one of the others".
When i heard about Diana Leah coming in,i chosed not to be like many focusing on the negativity of Charlotte being no more. And rather focus on hoping that Diana Leah would sound somewhat like Charlotte. As a longtime Nightwish supporter,i have experienced firsthand the drama,noise and toxicity of having lead vocalists come and go. And tons of other bands has gone through the same thing. It made me a better person i think,as i used to feel a certain way over losing a lead vocalist for favourite bands of mine.
Diana Leah in,not only met my inner hopes and expectations,shes such more then that. When i heard her,my mind was in total shock like: "She sounds EXACTLY like Charlotte!" Especially in the choruses and harmonica parts on many songs,theyr voices are soo much alike its mindblowing to me.
And then she looks like a IRL Pocahontas on top of that,great stage presence,microphone technique (not alot of people pay enough attention to things like that,when a vocalist has mastered how close or far away they need to be to the mic,to sound just right) Diana Leah in as a Delain member has been nothing but a true blessing!🙏💞
I also love the 2 new guys in,wich can provide both backing vocals as well as growl parts,and ofc the guitar plays.
Delain got abit of a suckerpunch when the other ones packed theyr bags and left,but my oh my how Delain came back better and upgraded. Alot more potential lays in the "new" Delain,pretty much like how Nightwish also had the same upgrade in sound with Floor Jansen and Troy Donockley in permanently.
PS: I loved hearing your vocals on the older Delain hits,Diana!It never stops amazing me how many parts sounds exactly like Charlotte. I guess you just naturally sound alot alike when singing.

I'm going to go ahead and say it - not since Floor Jansen joined Nightwish has a new vocalist fit so effortlessly into a band and its sound.
I discovered Delain with Electricity a few months ago while playing a game and I immediatly loved it. After this time, I discovered more and more of the amazing songs that Charlotte sang. Yes, Not Enough and Frozen are my actual favorite Delain songs. But one day, I heard Moth to a Flame. I knew the singer was different because of the different tone of voice (and the album cover lol xD). And you know what? I was hyped in a second when the first drop came. I heard it again and again with the other songs. Today, Delain is my major source of inspiration for my heroic fantasy book. Every time I hear these songs, I have a clear scene of my story in my mind. Whatever if the singer changes, the life is like that, you have to get your opportunity to go step forward in your life. Yes, Charlotte was a brilliant singer (and she was a redhaired girl, that's a bonus point to me xD) and each song she sang was beautiful. But you know what ? I have to say that Diana will be able to do the same thing in her way. How can I be so sure about that? I mean.. Hey, she already did it with her first album. I think it's quite sufficient to prove it, isn't it?
Message to Diana(if you read it lol) : keep on your way. I don't know you, you don't know me. But your voice is just amazing that you captivate me and hype me each time I hear you singing. So, long life to you in Delain band and don't listen the people who are spitting you out just because you're not the original one.
Message to Delain entire band : hey guys, you're just fantastic. I hope you will keep on like this for a long time ! When I saw you were from Netherlands I was like "erm.. okay? Quite interesting, I never saw a Netherland metal band before, that's cool!" You rock guys, you're my actual 3rd favorite band. Yeah only 3rd place for you, the 1st is Bullet For My Valentine because I hear them since 2009 when I was a 17 years old teenager and the 2nd place is Arch Enemy. Even if Charlotte and Diana are great, I can't replace my lovely Alissa White Guz ❤

Ну что сказать, прекрасно Диана справляется с песнями, которые исполняла Шарлотта, очень очень удачно подобрал Мартин. Пытается петь в том же стиле, в той же манере, чтоб звучало как изначально было задумано (возможно не комфортно ей, не позволяют петь по своему, но на новых песнях компенсирует это). Как по мне - не хватает только харизмы которой обладала Шарлотта и еще бы энергии побольше.
на первых концертах еще стеснялась, сейчас уже вроде раскрепостилась, со временем думаю дотянет до уровня Шарлоты, даже может перегнать если постарается
Трудолюбие компенсирует недостатки со временем. Есть талант, есть куда расти и это прекрасно.
I've said this over and over.. I will say it again.
I have been a Delain fan since 2008. I've seen them live the few times they came to the US specifically LA. When it was announced that Charlotte and the others had left the band, and Martjn was continuing Delain.. in all honestly I was not worried. Granted was sad that a chapter was ending but excited for what was to come. Maybe the reason for that is because I actually love their demo which had another singer by the name of Anne Invernizzi. Martjn knows what he's doing, this is his band. Diana is a great addition and will continue on with the legacy of Delain. Here's to new music from Delain and new music from Charlotte! Can't wait to see you all this September!
This album is how i discovered Delain, came out the year i graduated highschool. Diana nails these songs, especially Where Is The Blood, which featured the great Burton C. Bell.

As a new Delain fan (discovered through Dark Waters) all I can say is everything I have heard has been absolutley incredible. Listening back through the older albums, in my personal opinion Charlotte and Diana have very similar voices, and I think that made Diana a PERFECT successor for this band and this little medley here just proves that even more. So incredibly thankful I found this band, you guys kick some major ass, and Diana, all I can say is I believe you are going to go down as a Symphonic Metal Legend with that voice💖🤘🤘

Both singers have a beautiful voice but I still prefer the way Charlotte sings in this album, especially Electricity... It's just that Charlotte has a different way to interprete those songs...
