Gordon's injury was the most gut-wrenching, deflating experience I've ever had in my life. I still remember exactly where I was when that happened and how the pit in my stomach felt.
Yea I was surprised he even got back. I know it was difficult the years in Boston knowing you ain't 100 percent and having to mentally and physically rebuild yourself. Injuries robbed him of a more potentially decorated career.
Same here. I was so excited for the season opener, one of the best off seasons bostons had, and seeing that play was sad and traumatic to me. I couldn’t believe it. He never really bounced back to form though. It’s one of the biggest what IFs in sports and as fans we were always waiting but it never came plus the growth of the jays and all the talent really didn’t allow him to be himself, you could tell it was a lot of pressure and probably a lot of doubt and fear behind the scenes. I always had the intuition that the pressure of signing the biggest contract of his life, playing at the biggest stage , and being seen as the new star of Boston, he may have manifested the injury.. yes, Kyrie should have never thrown that ball but so many things happen and so many outcomes are based on the thoughts we have… either way I’m happy he’s good now.. I still have a picture in my office of the Boston 5… JT JB Gordon Kemba Smart… Crazy we had a stacked team team though prior with Kyrie , rozier, Horford, Bayne, Theis, Marcus morris 😮
Gordon Hayward was Cooper Flagg before Cooper Flagg. Cooper will be the proposed future #1 Draft pick 2025. Gordon just couldn't stay healthy in his entire career and after he left Utah his career started going downhill.
Hard to have that many personality and talent on one team. Brad didn't define roles and I believe ain't want to step on Kyrie toes during his tenure their. Ky was coming off a championship yr and wanted to carry the load on a loaded team.
@jman1562001 he left after alot of that had been thinned out. Hayward left the celtics after the bubble year. Which is a year after Kyrie, Al horford, Marcus Morris, Terry Rozier all left. Hayward was a great 3rd/4th option after The jays and kemba. He was also a great secondary facilitator. He broke his ribs right before the bubble playoffs, which knocked him out til the ECF where he came back hurt still and sucked. The issue was at that point he still felt he was an all star in the league and he wanted to go somewhere he could be higher on the totem pole. He opted out of his last yr in boston to sign in charlotte...he actually got more from them despite playing about a season and some change worth of games in 3 actual seasons.
Imagine Gordon Hayward not injured in Boston Uniform 1st day REGULAR SEASON DAMN

@friscofe Not everyone gets to experience love and relationships.
Hayward is my idol growing up. Love his game, offense-defense guy. People don't understand how good he was in his prime. Specially in Utah.
The follow up question shoulda been “Did the trade of Kyrie change your outlook on signing with Boston”
I think Hayward is the only player that I’ve seen be on a max contract one year and then out of the league the following year.
You can see he's pissed he's still not in the leauge
Hayward is good looking man! 😮
he was never the same after the injury
Yall did em dirty...

His face looks like a pale Kobe Bryant can’t unsee it
I think a bit too much Botox..
He shoulda stayed in boston.

Hayward trash Okc needed to knock down open shots he hit backboards and sold in press conference
The injury ruined his career. No need to hate on the guy for trying to come back.
Chandler Parsons is as sharp as a bowling ball if he thinks you can dribble a cube-shaped ball.
