Welcome to the thyroid function club! I was diagnosed as underactive in my 30s (now in my 50s) & my dose has changed regularly. The good news is that the medication really works & you should feel so much better after a couple of months. Really important to keep going for regular blood tests - I go every 6 months - as it can change so easily.
I agree . Have been on thyroxine for years and it really works.
Me too😮...medication makes us feel much better but it's not a cure for weight struggles unfortunately 😮
I 😮still have the metabolism of a sloth, no matter what i do😂😮.
Feel better soon Emma !❤ x
Glad to hear that your diagnosis is improving your life Em. Just one thing to watch for is B12 deficiency - it needs to be monitored as people with hypothyroidism have a greater chance of developing pernicious anemia. It happened to my mother and was only picked up too late. She went on to develop dementia and had to have B12 injections for the remainder of her life. Just something that we learned the hard way. It’s all a matter of knowing the side effects and monitoring for them. Best of luck with the medication.
Hi thanks for a lovely vlog. My underactive thyroid was diagnosed in my 40’s. The combination of significant weight gain despite healthy eating & exercise & the extreme tiredness led to diagnosis. I was going to bed after dinner and sleeping for 10 hours and still feeling tired.
Luckily I had a great GP and although my first blood test was on the line, he trusted that I knew my own body and gave me the lowest dose for a a couple months. It made such a difference.
I’m glad you were diagnosed correctly as the symptoms can be put down to so many other things especially if you are in the pre-menopause stage of life.
I’m 62 now and my doses have gone up and down over the years depending on my blood tests but my body seems to like 100mcg a day.
I hope you feel better soon. Really enjoy your vlogs. 🤗
I love the m&s perfume dupes, i have a couple ,yes i always leave mine in the box aswell 😊
Hi Beautiful lady... I think your hair looks lovely but I totally get it when you don't feel yourself... I love all your videos but so glad Tea with E is coming back (would you consider doing a live Tea with E so we can chat with you?) I've always been a fan of your channel as I think you have always been relatable/down-to-earth/honest/funny/creative and have a beautiful soul... Your new slow Sunday vlogs sound right up my street as most days for me are slow!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your time with us xx hugs from Jacquie xx
Head and Shoulders shampoo is meant to lift colour. You could try doing a few washes with that? A friend found it worked and I have generally heard it does. I must admit I prefer it blonder too.
I am hypothyroid. I tried various different doses. I alternate between 100mg one day and 125mg the next. It’s seen as a long term medical condition so you will qualify for a medical exemption certificate if high means you won’t have to pay for any prescriptions you get from the doctor e.g antibiotics, HRT. Ask your GP about it. Also look up about foods you should avoid. Xx
Also take it away from any other medications as they can interact and mean it doesn't work as effectively. Coffee and vitamin c drinks shouldn't be taken for a few hours after taking it xXxHugsxXx Ems welcome to my club, diagnosed at 25 and then b12 deficiency (pernicious anemia) at 30. You go this lovely ❤
I think your hair looks really nice. It has the blonde highlights which are great. You will get used to it soon. ♥️
Also have an underactive thyroid (auto immune disorder). Diagnosed around 30 years ago, when I was in my early 20s. Take 150 mcg of Levothyroxine daily. Annual blood test to check levels. Still struggle with a lot of symptoms though.
Really pleased you are noticing an improvement in your health. Look after yourself.
I like your hair it looks lovely and shorter hair definitely suits your face shape, it always takes a while to get used to change but if you're not happy with it then do what makes you feel happier ❤
Diagnosed in my 20's with underactive thyroid...I'm now 54 and on 125mg levothyroxine that I take before food every morning. Its controlled most of my symptoms however I remain overweight and gain very easily, also my energy levels aren't brilliant...
I’m exactly the same, feel tired a lot of the time, trying to loose weight so I can have a knee replacement but the hospital say my BMI is too high. Having said that if I went private it would be done 😢
Hi Em, love the cozy vlogs, also loving your new front door 😊, I'm with you, prefer your hair with abit more blonde hair in it🙂 glad to hear your feeling better xx
Levothyroxine really changed my life. I suffered so badly with anxiety and depression, fatigue, aches and pains… and since my hashimoto’s diagnosis everything does make sense. Definitely keep up with the blood tests!
Great vlog as ever Em! Glad you're feeling better after your diagnosis! Looking forward to Tea with E! Xx
I was diagnosed with the opposite thyroid issue, Graves Disease. My thyroid disease was diagnosed a couple months after my son was KIA In Afghanistan. I was told it was hereditary and that the grief and trauma from my son brought it out. I have a super overactive thyroid and I have to take methimazole. Thyroid issues are no fun! I have the aches and pains, but I’m extremely hot, can loose massive amounts of weight, my heart palpitates because it races. It’s no fun. Also, the day I was notified that my son was dead was the last day I ever had a period. That was 2010 and I was 44 at the time and it forced me into menopause.
I have got post menopause. Ankle painful. All my body joints bad
Love your hair Emma , I’ve gone more rooty blonde too but I love it. It’s how you feel isn’t it. Lovely to see you back vlogging xx
Hypothyroidism can be hard, I’ve had it for around 10 years. Getting rid of carbs has helped me a lot. You’ll find what works for you.Im on 100mg 5 days and 150mg 2 days a week. X
I can't believe you hadn't been tested long ago for low thyroid. It's pretty standard on a yearly checkup. I've been on synthroid for many years. Hope you' ll be feeling better soon❤❤❤
Your hair looks lovely, but there’s nothing worse if your not happy with it yourself, I hated my last haircut, too short, so leaving it grow again!❤❤xx
Hi em it’s me again the trees 🌲 are in b and m they r amazing and lots of other items to go with them just thought I would mention it 🌲
My daughter has just gone to Disney yesterday the day after the hurricane and everywhere is open today .
Florida got hit by two hurricanes just a few days apart. I am in East Tennessee. We are fine, but our neighbors just a few miles from us are sifting through their lives which were destroyed by Hurricane Helene. The mountains and 24-30” of rain result in a catastrophic situation.
You are beautiful no matter the hair color, but I do like you as a blonde😊
Love your hair dark too x
Yeh I’m on levothyroxine, 150mg now - I was on 125 for years but wasn’t losing weight, blood test revealed 125mg wasn’t cutting it! Plus billy bonus, free prescriptions 🎉
Hi
I’ve got hypothyroidism - take 100mcg every day. Had it now for 15 years and was taking 125mcg until recent annual blood test which showed I need to reduce 🤷♀️
One tip though…. You should take it first thing in the morning 30 minutes before food for optimum absorption x
Love sound of cosy vlogs xx
Hi Em..I've had underactive thyroid & taking thyroxine for 24 years now...can't loose weight , joints ache , etc etc..but hey ho there are worse things aye..take care ❤
Hi, love your videos and you. Love your nail color what color is on your nails?
Hi em i am a fellow paid up member of the thyroid club. It can take a while to find the right dose for you and even then you must have regular blood tests as it can change. I currently am on 175mg daily but feel mine may be playing up again. But on the plus side you'll now qualify for free prescriptions under the medical exemption 🎉😂. So every cloud has a silver lining 😊. Great video as always x
One of my previous hair dresses told me to never use head and shoulders shampoo
He said it was terrible stuff.
I love watching your video on weekend
Great to see you back. Xx.
I have an under active thyroid too. I’m on 175mg a day but they check it every 6 months. A few times they’ve tried to increase it but k would get a feeling like my heart was beating too fast and that meant the dose was too high and they needed to reduce it. It’s life changing. If I don’t take it for a few days (terrible memory) I really feel it. Also are you aware you are entitled to free prescriptions if you have an under active thyroid? You can get an exemption card form from your doctor xx
I love creatures great and small too!! If you like that you’ll enjoy the The Hardarces, that’s just started on a Monday night on channel5 xx

Why don't you try using a colour remover, which should help take you back to your normal hair and the no colour on the bleached parts, then you can use a lighter toner. Hx

Em, I agree that you are meant to be blonde. Was it last year you had that auburn/dark hair, it was nice but you look so bright and happy blonde, dark hair makes you not so vibrant. Definitely not intending this to be a horrible comment, love your vlogs.
