- De Krka-watervallen zijn de watervallen in het Nationaal Park Krka bij Šibenik in Kroatië. Dit park dankt zijn naam aan de rivier de Krka, die met een lengte van 72,5 km de 22ste rivier van Kroatië is. De watervallen zelf hebben een verval van 242 meter in zeven stappen.
De rivier en rivieroever Krka bevinden zich in het graafschap Šibensko Kninska. De bron van de rivier is te vinden op de berg Dinara vlakbij Knin. De Krka baant zich een weg door het park, daarbij vele hoogteverschillen in het karstgesteente overbruggend. De Skradinski buk, met 17 trappen over een lengte van 400 meter, brengt het water 46 meter lager. Enkele van de watervallen zijn meer dan 100 meter breed. Via het Proklanskomeer bereikt de rivier het ruim 10 kilometer verderop gelegen Šibenik en eindigt zijn tocht in de Adriatische Zee. Vooral in de winter en in het voorjaar, als de rivier veel water aanvoert, kan de Krka zeer snel stromen. In het park lijkt de rivier soms verdwenen. Over een grote oppervlakte, schijnbaar drassig terrein vervolgt deze niettemin zijn weg en wordt plotseling weer rivier.
National Park Krka : The empire of Krka River, the magnificent karstic beauty traveling two thirds of its way to the sea through canyons, is a complete opposite of Kornati. On its green path, it has seven falls, the last one being Skradinski buk with an average flow of 55 cubic meters of water per second. National Park Krka is rich in flora and fauna. 222 bird species live there, making it one of the most valuable ornithological areas in Europe. You can visit it by boat, car or on foot. Make sure you visit the ethno museum on one of the old mills. National Park Krka also has the only hawk training center in Croatia where you can se presentations of hunting with hawks and hawk trainers' skills.
Each of the islands within the Šibenik archipelago, arranged across the vast area of the open sea, hides an interesting feature. Zlarin has the most famous coral divers, while Krapanja, a small town on the smallest island in the region of the same name, is known for its sea sponge divers.
The Sibenik region is one of the Mediterranean's quieter corners where there is still the space and time to make discoveries in a fascinating and varied landscape. The Krka National Park and the town of Sibenik are symbolic of the contrasts that are found in central Dalmatia. There are the rugged limestone mountains of the mainland set against the intricate archipelagos of the Adriatic Sea. And there is the diversity and natural beauty of the various parks and reserves in combination with the rich and well-preserved cultural heritage of the ancient coastal settlements.
It is a landscape that offers much to the interested visitor and which, thankfully, remains free from the concrete development of resorts. Mediterranean summers: Sibenik and the central Dalmatian coast enjoy a pleasant Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers coupled with cooling sea breezes and the temptations of the Adriatic. Inland, in the national park, the river and the waterfalls counteract the heat. In winter it is mild and wet, but note that much is likely to be closed.
Bilušić Buk is de eerste van 7 watervallen op de Krka rivier. De waterval is ongeveer op 16 km van de bron gelegen. De huidige aanblik van de watervallen is 4 maal gewijzigd door de ontploffing van landmijnen, dit om het overstromen van Kninsko Polje te verhinderen. Deze operaties bedoeld om het waterpeil te doen dalen, werden op zulke wijze uitgevoerd, dat nieuwe velden gevormd werden in het ravijn, maar het Bobodolsko meer is verdwenen. Ofschoon de waterval gewijzigd is, is het nog steeds een groot en mooi.
Gedurende het jaar stroomt al het water van de rivier door deze waterval. Het is een prachtig schouwspel voor de bezoekers, vooral tijdens de droge zomer periode.
De waterval bestaat uit 2 belangrijke trappen en verschillende kleinere trappen over een lengte van 300 m. Het verval is 22.4 m. De breedte van de waterval is ongeveer 106 m. Echter, gedurende het grootste gedeelte van het jaar is het waterpeil laag, en stroomt de rivier slechts door een opening van 30 m breedte.

bin oft vorbei gefahren. einmal muss ich hin. da braucht man aber einen ganzen tag um alles zu sehen. eintritt ist ca 20 euro pro erwachsene person
those water snakes aren't poisonous. they eat frogs and rodents and are important to the park's eco-system. a house cat can hurt you more than that snake :D
