#GABEBOUDREAU #77 1997 IFMAR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM USA 2004 ROAR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE 1987-2007 SEMI-PROFESSIONAL RC CAR RACER 2006-PRESENT - US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMANDO =================================================== "As a WORLD CHAMPION bad ass video. As a fan of racing...horrible video. There is no racing action! As a PRODUCER bad ass video! As an Artist...way to overproduced. Simple works believe me. As a TEAM BOSS bad ass video! As a company owner - too targeted at ONE SINGLE BRAND rather than focusing on selling the racing etc. If you sell this to the masses as IFMAR branding rather than just AE/PROLINE/A-MAINHOBBIES then everyone wins vs. just those Platinum and Gold Sponsors. Think F1/NASCAR. They sell the F1 and NASCAR not McClaren/Ferrari and FORD/CHEVY/TOYOTA. In 2004 I attempted to bring RC into the 21st CENTURY. I wasn't doing it because I was some rich company owner trying to one up my competitor. I was trying to SELL R.O.A.R. and I.F.M.A.R. to the masses. The fear in the RC HOBBY/RACING World is that the big budgeted companies like FORD might want in on the slice of pie. Truth is that was not the case in 2004 and still isn't. This was told to me in 1995 by GIL LOSI Jr. that his Pops biggest fear of taking the hobby big time. FEAR of losing money. Well I didn't have much in 1995 so why would I have been afraid of losing it. As a member of those EARLY FACTORY TEAMS, being paid for my time, effort, and dedication was important. Then once I had that taken care of and winning the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP happened in 1997 for me my focus became to get the rest of the guys who worked just as hard as I did paid as well. Team Losi, Team Trinity, and Team Novak made MILLIONS OF DOLLARS after that race. They invested millions into winning it and it paid off. Risk vs Reward. RC Racing is still, Amateur in Nature because you don't get paid to do it unless you have a contract to win races etc. Because the marketing of RC has been so poor over the years, the public still view's it as a "toy car" hobby. Jimmy Johnson gets paid to attend a race, attend an interview, attend a function, attend a charity event, attend anything. My guess is that the folks in this video were not compensated at all, except maybe #BarryBaker who is the most professional face of the sport side I know. Enjoy your day!
