This game being promoted by UA-camrs was always kind of a shady thing in my eyes. It's the most clean cut example of a cash grab rip off of a game that got its popularity off of being a genuinely fresh and original concept, and creators promoting something so derivative and (production value-wise) inferior feels like they're just doing it for the bag.
Yep. I agree. To be honest, I always find it shady when companies can't even advertise normally and have to pay thousands of internet people to advertise the product, each reciting the same script. I just realized how dystopian that sounds. Oh my god.

@@haji2nd444 is it really dystopian, though? That's how "normal" advertisements work, too. It's the nature of advertisements and marketing. We're free to look at the adverts and think "wow a rip-off game", and move on with our lives with no desire or intent of ever listening.
Just saying, if this is "oh my god" worthy to you, then maybe you should expand your horizons a bit and look at all the "influencers" who don't even say they're sponsored but completely endorse products chalking it up as personal interest. According to the australian government that's 80% of influencers.

I think that one of main reasons that this game got any popularity is the fact that original Fall Guys got pulled from Steam a long time ago.
One topic that wasn't mentioned about this game too is how it's literally pay to win. You can use the punch emote to actually punch other players off platforms. And the punch emote is paid.
From a stumble guys player I agree with this. Plus they should remove the special emotes and refund people with 1500 gems because those emotes are annoying as HELL

For the same reason Palworld can't be sued. Copyright Laws are broken and can't be fixed. Ripoffs are obvious when seen but a generic description is too broad in application. Any attempts to clarify the laws only leads to non-ripoff games getting caught in the crossfire. We would need a good faith system to prosecute these sorts of games and good faith systems just aren't compatible with the sinful nature on Man.

I only heard of Stumble Guys from Cr1tikal playing it and completely cheesing it with the punch emote. I wasn't even aware it was sponsored without the collective eye roll of this Great Value Fall Guys.
I love this series so far, I have a feeling you're going to blow up any time soon once you tackle the heavy hitter sponsors (RAID, Betterhelp, Hello Fresh, etc.)
i also think hello fresh is probably one of the ones im most intrigued about, from what i watch its probably one of the promotions i see the most. i never looked into it too much but part of me feels like its too good to be true.

Hello Fresh has its own skeletons in the closet, from QC issues like not enough of the ingredients being shipped for a recipe, food arriving rotten, being anti-union and treating their workers like expendable meat machines and being overpriced when buying the same ingredients in store for less (Per capita). HF also owns some other brands like Factor who've also been getting the sponsorship rounds
Meal kits have their place, I know disabled people who swear by them, but I suppose we can't all avoid scummy businesses and I hold no ill will to people who otherwise depend on these things. I just wish their workers were treated better and customers not getting rotten food.

I had whiplash seeing Cookie Run: Kingdom mentioned at the end there, since I've been playing that game every day since the Halloween Masquerade update, and I'm a F2P player at heart :') As much as I am a part of the Cookie Run community, and I kinda lurk around in the fanbase, I can't wait to see you tear through this thing (and also Ovenbreak maybe if there's time!!). The fact that Stumble Guys is currently more popular than fall guys is probably the most depressed I've ever gotten over a video game, no joke. Especially considering how much better fall guys is to stumble guys. While Stumble guys is still probably the best fall guys knockoff, it can be quite decent when played every once in a while, and it has some cool ideas, there are a lot of negatives and some recent updates to it make it feel like the game has gotten worse ngl. There is a reason why I play fall guys a few times per week compared to Stumble guys where I play it like once or twice a month.
Also yes, the outro is absolutely beatiful.

It’s a Fall Guys knockoff. Fall Guys is way better, with real physics unlike the clunky physics and animations in stumbIe guys. And, Fall Guys is coming to mobile this year.
The two youtubers I've seen promote it are Alpharad and Mr. Beast. Ultimately this sponsorship is harmless, not like it's a scam or anything, but it is an incredibly shit game that's just a blatant ripoff.
Oh I am so hyped for that Cookie Run Kingdom video, it's hard to find good criticism of it that isn't just "This cookie is UGLY" and if anything outside that exists then I have yet to see it

I'm really surprised that you didn't mention that Fall Guys was at one point a $10-20 game and only went free to play after it's first year. It's true it got popular from PS Plus but to get it on Steam or keep it after PS Plus ended you had to pay for it (and even more for like a Hotdog Suit premium edition). Then after a year it was pulled from Steam like a week after it was put onto Epic Games Store. Otherwise a good video, UA-cam didn't recommend this one to me until a few days after it was posted despite being subscribed.
It more of a time restriction, didn’t want make that section too long. Also thanks for head up on recommending, I’ll keep a lookout on that.
Great vid! Just a couple bits of feedback. I think the intro could be a bit shorter. The longer intro makes sense for the first vid since it’s your debut, but if it takes over a minute to get to the subject every time, I feel like it might get old. Also I think the bgm is slightly too loud sometimes, I had a bit of trouble hearing you some of the time- not anything major, though. Finally, I think you practice annunciating the words you say in the VO. There are a few times (particularly at 2:40-2:48) where it seems like you’re slurring your speech a bit and rushing as well.
Aside from that stuff though, the editing, subject matter, and overall visual presentation is all really good and I can’t wait to see more! Have a good day!

It can be in the middle much like a classic promotion, or at the end like Brilliant/Nebula. In this way you would never know when you had to skip for a minute, which is typical of the genre.

If I was Mediatonic I'd sue the pants off Scopely. Fall Guys doesn't have a license on game show battle royales of course, but Stumble Guys isn't even trying to hide the fact that they're outright stealing levels and animations.
They would lose more money on legal battles than they might win, if they win at all
If stumble guys currently is paid for by the Saudis, they're gonna have pretty deep pockets, so it will probably end badly for both of them, but worse for fall guys, depressingly.
Two more points:
1. Basically mocking Fall Guys
Fall Guys made a level maker for all players a while ago (an idea they do not own). And, stumbIe guys, obviously, took that idea, which is completely fair, but then they almost copied every aspect of the Fall Guys level maker trailer, and the script almost word for word, and pasted it to their trailer.
2. “Fall Buddies”
Self-explanatory. The codename for stumbIe guys (and the first name) was Fall Buddies. And, it still remains unedited.
So, if Epic Games uses these pieces of evidence, they could possibly win a lawsuit.

I think Stumble Guys was originally made to cash in on the Fall Guys craze, because it was free, and Fall Guys wasn't, but now that both are free, it doesn't really have any reason to exist
It’s just for the last mobile players to play the game. Once Fall Guys comes to mobile, there’s completely no reason to play it.

I've played Raid for a offerwall thing... It was terrible. The actual prize from the offerwall was "complete x amount of monthly quests", but the only way to do that was to buy something with real money that costed more than just skipping the offerwall and buying premium currencies in the game I was playing.
The actual game itself wasn't good either, very much making you grind way past being annoyed to get currencies to upgrade armor on your units to make them viable for stronger opponents.

Not completely. Apple unbanned Epic Games’ creator account on the App Store, and, they could always use a side account (like how Rocket League: Sideswipe made it to mobile) to allow it. Also, Fall Guys mobile is leaked to release this year, and there’s no denying it.

Honestly I downloaded this game because it was sponsored by a UA-camr I liked and I was really shocked at the lacklustre quality. The other day though I caught my younger brother playing it (he’s 11) and he seemed to enjoy it, so it’s definitely good at appealing to its target audience.
If he plays on console, you should recommend him fall guys, it’s so much better. And, if he plays on mobile, remember the Fall guys Mobile version will come this year.

I've played stumble guys before, it was really popular in my country a couple years ago. I have to say, it's a decent game, while the music might be repetitive, and the first levels that were made were a bit bad, it still had its good ones like in the monopoly or mrbeast events. I would personally give it a B.

Just from the fact it was called *STUMBLE* Guys, I could already tell it was a cheap Fall Guys knockoff. I guess I was right. I find it funny how that short song loop just sounds like every other mobile game. Same bpm, instrumentation, just same everything. It appears this game was meant more for mobile, and I guess they just rushed the port to console and PC. Also, some game concepts kinda just work better on mobile, and just some concepts in general, like phone keyboards vs on-screen smart tv keyboards (trying to type with a tv remote [which I've had the displeasure of trying to do *MULTIPLE* times]).
I mentioned this in another comment but during the end of the pandemic my kids heard about fall guys and wanted to play it, looked it up on the app store (since we don't have consoles and only ipads for school/general use) and looking up fall guys led you to this. I initially just thought it was the same game, and it took me a few play sessions to realize the characters looked different from what I'd seen before.
It's pretty shameless and sleazy that they took something that worked and copied it, but at the same time, they went straight for mobile first, which, to my limited knowledge, fall guys didn't/doesn't have so they took a concept people wanted and delivered it in the requested platform before the original team did, it was a miss on the original game to not cover their bases with that.
even better, it had a different name at one point that was as close to Fall Guys as it could be without violating trademark laws.

And, stumbIe guys is a pay to win game with quality not good enough to outshine the p2w, and eggy party is a bit shameless but not as bad as stumbIe guys, and is much better than stumbIe guys as a mobile game.
Ngl Honkai star is low key really fun when you get into it, quite good compared to most gacha/mobile games

i always found it kind of weird how, especially for game promotions, they never really give THAT much of a reason to actually get the product (because they don't have a reason lol)
its always "1 million players worldwide", "use my code for a gazillion super-gems and 16 EXCLUSIVE characters!", "this is *my* FAVORITE game", etc.
i really don't understand how it gets *anyone* (other than 8 year olds, which i am now realizing are likely the prime audience for those ads.... hm.)
i also hope that you don't end up stuck being a purely comedy/lighthearted channel, while i do enjoy it (very much!) i would also be interested in taking a look at some more serious stuff, like those "ai therapy" ones, or the outright scams like that one where you buy a 1 square inch plot of land to become a "lord" or whatever (which i'm pretty sure is like, dead and gone, but just as an example)
and while i'm sure others share my sentiment, if you do continue to exclusively make comedy(etc)-oriented videos that's also good! (as long as you don't end up a sell-out :troll:)
all in all, keep doing what you're doing! you've already exploded in popularity in just 2 weeks, and i highly doubt it's going to slow down much any time soon!
HSR and Genshin hold their own as PC games, and honestly are some of the least offensive gacha games on the market (outside of like Limbus Company). People understandably complain about gacha games because of their predatory monetization mechanics, but the worst of the genre hardly reaches the western mainstream and both games have interesting combat and stories when you get into them. Hoyoverse games are still gacha games, but compared to games like Fate/Grand Order, the odds are very manageable... The thing is that the less accesibke gacha games aren't really advertised as heavily.
i still hate on hsr and genshin because i literally have not gone a day without seeing something or someone shilling or advertising it

this game was one of the reasons i left my old friend group. why? its because i wanted to play fall guys instead, which went free to play around the same time, we all had pcs that could play it. i was then given shit for hating the game.
Just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed, enjoyed both of your videos.
And as you progressed through the video I wondered if you where going to mention it's mobile version. During the last stages of the pandemic when ppl where maybe venturing out, kids learned about fall guys, but without a console at our home, and with kids already using tablets for school, looking up fall guys on the Apple App store leads you directly to Stumble guys. It was free, and what my kids most enjoyed was dressing up their characters with stuff they'd win and it was fun to be able to quickly play online the 3 or 4 of us in the same room pretty painlessly. Credit where it's due, stumble guys filled a gap fall guys didn't account for, gotta give them credit for that. Having said that, even my young kids realized this was a knock off game of another one, heck this might have been the first time they grasped the concept...so bonus points for educative-ness?
Objectively d tier, but I'd rate it higher personally just because it brings back good memories, and save for an odd costume I paid for my girls, essentially free to play.
There was a reason why fall guys couldn’t release on mobile yet - cost, and situation. Because Epic and Apple + Android’s fight, and the cost of developing it. But now, Fall Guys can and will release on mobile this year.

I actually think i preferred stumble guys over fall guys, and this could just be because I played Fall Guys when people were already super good at it, while I first played Stumble when it first got popular. (Played w/ same friends btw lol) don't player either anymore though, mainly because I don't play too many games anymore.
Thats because stumble guys uses bots so that players can win more often and keep playing. Fall guys has challenge and you play against real players.

I think you should also try to cover games that are better than the sponsored stuff. It also saves us money on the games shown when they aren't using a lot of budget on marketing as much.

I think Fall Guys is more B tier. It launched as a buy-to-play game meaning it stood on its own without any major free-to-play elements, and then when they added in a battle pass it was far less terrible than most battle passes I've seen. Prices are actually reasonable. And it's quite fun with friends. Def not a high B tier game, but I like it.

Stumble Guys was something I wanted to check out but just never did cause I already play fall guys so what's the point in checking out a knockoff when I have the real thing.
As someone with 2.6K hours in Fall Guys The game is fun but has suffered in quality due to rampant bugs and lack of map variety though that has improved with recent updates, I still enjoy the game but won't lie and say it hasn't gotten a little stale especially since they stopped making maps with unity and are really pushing creative mode.

Well this was certainly a surprise as someone who consistently plays, fall guys and tried to play stumble guys everything in this video is pretty accurate to my own experiences with both games. I even experienced the same glitch for fall guys You showed in the video.

iirc, in around 2022, Stumble Guys is very popular in Indonesia for a month. Famous Indonesian streamer has play it, which led to other people doing the same thing. In my school, my classmate would made a lobby where the entire quarter of the class is playing Stumble Guys. While the game was at its peak, it slowly dies and no one mentioned Stumble Guys again in 2023.
The reason why its so popular at the time? Because a lot of people play with their phone and also like to play together with their friends/viewers. Sometimes, some of them didn't know about Fall Guys and would call Fall Guys a copy of Stumble Guys.
Now, Fall Guys mobile is coming. So this might change.

Will never forget when Cr1tikal got sponsored by them when he was going through his Stumble Guys phase to bully other players (which if they’re gonna be complimented for one thing it’s having the balls to let emotes affect other people) and at least 3/4 of the comments were like “CHARLIE NO!”
Something you forgot to mention was Fall Guys released at $20, so the Stumble Guys devs had to have made this seeing how Fall Guys’ popularity was being hampered by its price tag and it clearly worked.

I have racked up a few mobile games that deserve the name of ‘games’, i would have put it in F. Dowloaded it once, played one game, got bored of the repetitive-ness, deleted. There is just so many other games that are just better

He doesn’t even know it’s a ripoff. I’ve seen so many mobile games that are just bad ripoffs of pc games. And they get so good reviews …

I can't imagine how the original Fall Guys devs feel. Imagine seeing a game you spent years working on find success, just to immediately get completely overshadowed by Among Us. And then a literal mobile game knockoff comes out of nowhere and steals the success your game once had.
Didn't it went free to play and release on consoles in 2022 and got most of the player base back at least for a little bit?

But, they are chill with Among Us. They even have Among Us collab skins in Fall Guys.
They blew all the budget on marketing and barely any on graphics, assets, music, anything really. Its like this game stayed unchanged since its debut release on Steam minus the skins and paid promotion it got for some damn reason.

But, it’s likely Fall Guys is more well known, just not played as much. Because, fall guys used to be paid and had limited platforms, many people couldn’t get the game. (It’s free now with all consoles, and soon the mobile version)

The funniest thing to me is that someone being paid to promote it talked bad about the game. A UA-camr hosted a tournament foe it and said that emotes or whatever it was called had to be turned off because the people who didn't have then would be heavily disadvantaged

I once nearly threw my dinner after losing a game of Stumble Guys.
Also, the level music is repetitive to the point where I could sing "I like to move it (move it)" and it still made sense.

Played the game for 20 hours back in 2022 before all the promotions and such, it was a ton of fun with friends, especially because it only paired you up with bots in multiplayer at that time, and no profanity filter was anywhere in sight.
