This is a lovely tutorial! Honestly speaking, there aren't many watercolor pencil tutorials, and there are even less that teach you to draw realism. I really appreciate your artwork! I hope you can continue to mame these amazing watercolor pencil tutorials😊😁

Thank you! I plan on doing a few more tutorials in the future eventually 😊
I also bought the Caran D'ache museum aquarelle pencil set which I haven't tried yet so I plan on using them soon, hopefully!

thanks so much for this. I bought both Fabriano Artistico HP 140lb watercolour paper and Fc Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils quite some time ago, then between family crisis, Covid-19 and life just throwing curveballs I lost my art mojo but watching this beautiful piece come to life and your tips I'm inspired and wanting to dive back into my artwork. going to sign up to you Patreon as I love many mediums and have quite the haul of art supplies just needing the inspiration and motivation. I'm looking to do something unique and different too than what most have been doing. thank you.

I'm glad you're inspired to start art again! These supplies are a lot of fun to work with, and you can create some interesting things with them :)
I know what it's like to have "quite a haul" of art supplies! But my problem is more that I need more time in the day for all the ideas I have haha
I'll look forward to seeing you over on Patreon!

so, this was interesting. recently I used watercolor pencils a lot while I was on work. surprisingly I used it like you did, so i can be proud of me ;D. the tip using the pigment directly from the pencil is worth it. at home I use albrecht dürer, too...the pigments are great...very vibrant. the pencils at work are more cheap (staedtler noris) and are weaker at some points. I tend to use coloured pencils on top (as you mentioned), you can create very crisp details without losing the watercolour-character of the artwork. well done video. send you best wishes :)

They are a fun and versatile medium to work with, and they are great for mixed media pieces (like with coloured pencils!)
I've never heard of that brand, but I've honestly only used the Albrecht Durer, and the student grade Derwent brand in high school!
I do love how rich the Abrecht Durer are though :)

This is an incredible piece Rebecca! I love painting loose & expressive pieces in watercolor but would love to learn how to paint more realistically 😊💕

Thankyou! I'm also learning how to paint more realistically with watercolour myself! It is much easier with the watercolour pencils to get a realistic effect than actual watercolour paint though :)
