You are spot on correct, Shakes when you said Angelina slayed this song without having to use all of her vocal tools. Then again, we can say that about all of the covers she sings. Her A.G.T. covers of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Yellow Brick Road” are other perfect examples of Angelina instinctively knowing exactly how much of her abilities to use to deliver the sound she wanted for those songs. If you remember, Simon Cowell pointed that out when he said that Angelina didn’t do what others would do in that situation. Angelina clearly has a highly developed and hyper sensitive instinct.

The Bellagio entrance of the check in area is even art and so huge it's grand! But still is not enough for our Queen! You can see where she get's her beauty, because her Mother is stunning and her Grandmother is a fantastic artist. Sadly I don't think we know much about her Father, but I'm sure it's unanimous that we're all grateful for him as well!
The father's name is Gerry Christian Slattman and some kind of engineer who I believe spends a lot of his time in the mid-east, so I'm assuming he's into oil. Saw a quick cameo shot of him at one of AJ's birthday parties. He's blond but not sure if he's Norwegian, Swedish, or both? Angelina is listed as having her mother's maiden name of Astar, with no mention of Slattman, and I'm told that in Norway, if the man and woman are not formally married or divorced, it's common for the woman to keep her maiden name, which Angelina seem's to share. Don't know anything about her little sister Juliette with regard to the father. Don't think they've ever allowed a real 'in depth' interview concerning their private lives, and I'm sure that many news programs tried to do it in a '60 Minutes' style format. Once AJ explodes into the public consciousness through things like personal concerts, I don't see how much of what I've talked about doesn't eventually surface for public consumption.

Yeah there are some kids with her power, her heart, her artistic genius, her many tools. But none that have all of those things, and the same can be said about all the greats and those at the top right now. Yes,, I think it’s one of her best qualities. She never goes overboard. Her impeccable taste and good sense delivers to a song exactly what is needed to make it sublimely beautiful.
This is an extremely late comment in the context of when you did the reaction, so you'd probably never see it, but here goes. I love your energetic and enthusiastic reactions. Yes, it's a wrap. One take, in a regular room (NOT a fully equipped recording studio like the original, so no audio engineers, no special acoustics, no autotune, no compression, no multiple takes and extensive mixing, etc.) Just Angelina, a mike, and a single acoustic guitar (Ivan Mendez was the guitarist) at age 12! And yet, with a voice so exquisitely beautiful, with such perfect control, and such masterful technique, delivering emotions that she couldn't possibly have experienced at her tender age: this is what pure genius looks like. Oh, and yes, that is her mom. I call her "Commando Mom", not because she is aggressive or belligerent (Oh no. On the contrary, she is obviously an extremely beautiful human being), but because ever since her interview after NGT when she shut down a reporter who had started asking too many questions about Angelina's future, you can see that she is never far away from her girls. As I said in another comment, it's as if she is saying to the world, "Those are my babies. To get to them, you have to go through me."

Once again Angelina did an amazing job with this Sam Smith song, she got an incredibly emotional and harmonious result, what she is able to do with any song is just amazing, whatever age she does. I think it's mostly the harmony with Angelina's lyrics, it's the reason why she chooses one song over another and I also that this is one of the main reasons for her incredible results, she understands and tells the story that the song contains , in his own splendid way 💛 🧡 ❤️

She certainly does seem very "comfortable" singing this song, don't ever hear any "stretch" or "reach" in her vocals, just "casual", "calm", "relaxed"! Dead on!

Angelina, Uncle Mike, Sara and Grandma Mery in the limo here arriving in Vegas for what I believe was the recording gig for AGT show. This here is probably one of the most beautifully stunning renditions of Sam's song. There is actually a pretty well done mashup of Angelina and Sam in a virtual duet of this song. Very enthusiastic reaction Shakes....enjoyed.
I think this was recorded in 2018 (the year before AGT Champions). Ivan Mendez is playing the guitar and he only accompanied her when she was 12. Also notice that Angelina and her mother are the same height in this video. In 2016 (AGT) Angelina was the taller of the two.
One must remember and reflect on just how much she holds back when you think of her 9 year old self singing I Put a Spell On You. I cant wait for the day when she goes into ultra beastmode. When she unleashes her raw power that sends a shockwave across the world to introduce herself as Queen.
We know she's she not even touching her vocal limits. But as her selling point is not beeing a vocal circus show, thats not really a downside. In my opinion its not only not needed to make every song a vocal firework, it even can get in the way. I prefer her approach of using what's approriate to let the song shine.

Angelina's producers (Stargate, 4 Grammys & 17 nominations), who have worked with 30+ mega star vocalists, said they only know of 3 vocalists that can record a song, all the way through, top to bottom in 1 take. They are Beyoncé, Sam Smith & Angelina Jordan. You wouldn't believe some of the big names that didn't make that short list, just sayin'!
Honestly would not surprise me in the slightest that list. Some just can't do stuff in 1 take, some like Michael Jackson are perfectionists and are really never happy even with their final result. Again I am a 3rd generation artist born in the industry. Not a lot of things in the industry surprise me anymore!

Read a comment awhile back by a top recording production man that he knew of only a couple of singers who were able to do songs in 'one take' (Beyonce and Sam Smith were two of them), and he included Angelina in that select group as well. Simply unbelievable when you realize her age, for sure. Her brain must be able to able to process and sing the intricacies of songs at a genius level. Einstein, thought to be the smartest man of all time, having proved not one, but four major theories in one year (1905), which has never been duplicated again by anyone, said that he was nowhere nearly as intelligent as Nicola Tesla. Since Tesla was majorly involved in transference of electrical energy in ways that were thought to be impossible, I get a bit of the same impression by Angelina's ability to process internally received electrical impulses that come out in vocal sounds. I think Tesla would have loved to have had her for a daughter, for sure.

Once again Angelina did an amazing job with this Sam Smith song, she got an incredibly emotional and harmonious result, what she is able to do with any song is just amazing, whatever age she does. I think it's mostly the harmony with Angelina's lyrics, it's the reason why she chooses one song over another and I also that this is one of the main reasons for her incredible results, she understands and tells the story that the song contains , in his own splendid way 💛 🧡 ❤️

Thanks Shakes. One of my many many favorites from Angelina. She is a fan of Sam Smith and it shows. Angelina, Uncle Mike, Sara and Grandma Mery in the limo here arriving in Vegas for what I believe was the recording gig for AGT show. This here is probably one of the most beautifully stunning renditions of Sam's song. There is actually a pretty well done mashup of Angelina and Sam in a virtual duet of this song. Very enthusiastic reaction Shakes....enjoyed.
I think this was recorded in 2018 (the year before AGT Champions). Ivan Mendez is playing the guitar and he only accompanied her when she was 12. Also notice that Angelina and her mother are the same height in this video. In 2016 (AGT) Angelina was the taller of the two.

We know she's she not even touching her vocal limits. But as her selling point is not beeing a vocal circus show, thats not really a downside. In my opinion its not only not needed to make every song a vocal firework, it even can get in the way.
I prefer her approach of using what's approriate to let the song shine.

The tall guy with dark hair in the car is Angelina's Uncle Mike who is also her manager. He is who she most resembles physically,..... Height, hair, profile, face shape, forehead.... He also seems quite serious and determined typa.
Angelina's producers (Stargate, 4 Grammys & 17 nominations), who have worked with 30+ mega star vocalists, said they only know of 3 vocalists that can record a song, all the way through, top to bottom in 1 take. They are Beyoncé, Sam Smith & Angelina Jordan. You wouldn't believe some of the big names that didn't make that short list, just sayin'!
Honestly would not surprise me in the slightest that list. Some just can't do stuff in 1 take, some like Michael Jackson are perfectionists and are really never happy even with their final result.
Again I am a 3rd generation artist born in the industry. Not a lot of things in the industry surprise me anymore!

The people that you saw get out of the limo with Angelina were Her mother , Her Uncle Mike ( who acts as her manager ) and her little sister Juliette .The only time Angelina's father has been seen on camera was in a backstage interview after she had performed Gloomy Sunday on Norway's Got Talent . Her Dad said in that interview that Angelina liked Jazz , No other child liked Jazz and she sings Jazz like a God ! Her Dad pretty much stays out of the public eye as far as Angelina is concerned . He lets Her have the limelight . Her Uncle Mike is the one who handles Her career and public appearances .
It was not her father it was a friend of the family. .Her swedish father Gerry Slättman is blond and besides from the same swedish county in Sweden as I am. His home town is Härnösand.

Sorry if I was mistaken , at the beginning of that video when they were interviewing Angelina backstage she said she had a huge cheering crowd with her and I thought she said it consisted of Her father , mother , grandmother and little sister so I assumed that the man backstage at the end was her Dad !

Micheal has done an excellent job as manager. He turned down Disney, and many others including Simon and waited until Republic Records allowed Angelina to continue to finish school. The family has a real concern about becoming famous and the pressure of being the best of the best. She was signed as "Republic's highest priority young artist". This business has eaten up too many young children. Michael has been relentless in promoting and protecting Angelina. Michael moved his entire family (he is married), grandma Mery, Angelina's mom and sister to Los Angeles. He's been as committed to Angelina's career as Angelina. Combined with her mom and grandma, she has the family support to survive in this business.
