Hi Shane from Italy, I started Lego investing 2 years ago, I followed you right away, for the first time this month I sold some sets that I had purchased at a discount, sets that were retired, thanks to your tips I can say that out of 4 different sets, I sold 2 of each type.. ..and I doubled the investment, my wife finally understood, thanks for everything, I hope to continue like this and improve! sorry for my not fluent English..
One must be blind to not see potential in this. The NES, the cube and bowser all have “secret” play functions in them with the mario starters. These will be essential for all Nintendo/Mario collectors.
solid video here in europe prices are almost the same, best purchases i made were set 71372,71370 and 71402-0 sadly only got a few of the power-up packs but glad to have those as investment. currently we still got a lot of sets in europe for %40 of on the official lego site planing on picking up a lot for those prices seems like an easy double in price after retirement.
I did but some of the starter sets for long term. The figure that is getting an upgrade this year will help but again is longer for only the fig. Maria, Luigi, princess maybe they will add a new one. This is not a great investment but what I bought into.
The Mario sets are complete duds. I purchases some airships and other sets at a steep discount and they've barely moved at all. A couple have done great, but at that point you're just gambling.
Hi from Italy Shane! I also use Keepa and, at least on Amazon IT, in the 90% of the case the "New" prices are lower than Buy Box because often Keepa pick the lower "New" prices without including the shipping costs from the FBM seller and the Buy Box often is an FBA seller, so with shipping already included! I really don't understand why. I think it would have been better if Keepa had considered the shipping costs. So, I use only Sales rank, Buy Box, New FBM and New FBA in the graph. Every time it's a pleasure to watch your videos! Have a nice day!
I don’t think Mario is a good investment at all. I wanna personally invest in sets that adults want. Mario is truly a kids toy and even my 8 year old son doesn’t like playing with it, wasted hundreds on him on that first wave. I’m sure your research will say there is money to be made but I’m not touching it
Same, I was just at bricks and mini figs and was picking through the bulk they had a lot of Mario sets in the bulk. It has a ton of good parts, but the sets are meh
@@travertinepico751 I would even disagree with that sentiment, those thicker plates never sell (I have a bricklink store) and the regular plates are bright colors. As I’m sure you know the grey’s blacks and whites are most coveted. Even the wave 1 blind box figures don’t sell for much over retail. There are a few (one from wave 4 I think) that sell for triple retail price
I’m not purchasing these sets no matter how much they are discounted. I think LEGO could have made this series so much better. They could have made this series like more traditional sets and maybe they would be a better investment. I would invest if they created some Mario Brickheadz. I think those would do well. But this series as it is now is that worth it IMO.
71391 Bowser's Airship was still being sold on discount from Walmart retailer as recently as last month. I don't know if Lego overproduced this theme or if they just aren't selling much in after market. They seem to be taking longer to see a retirement pop. What is the sell rate compared to other themes?
If you purchased at full price and sell at $50, you are making less than $5. You forgot to include tax, inbound shipping, storage, and the risk of return.
Not sure what set you're talking about, but I don't pay sales tax on my inventory, I pay approx. 50c per unit for inbound shipping, and risk of return rate of 2%. Not sure how you're getting $5

Huge congrats on the sales! Great to hear. Here's to many more!

Airships are super overstocked even after retirement.

Love this one. Thanks
Notice that price is not the only factor you should take into account in your analysis but also the sell velocity
Yeah, the sales rank is visible in the charts in the video

I think it will do well as we approach 5 or more years in retirement 😊
This is mostly Luigi mansion. That subtheme is an outlier.
Also people can’t just blindly buy Mario, I’m sure there will be more duds than winners if you don’t know what your doing

lol I am one of the people that control this market hehehe.
