Nigeria: Ruling Party in Disarray Over Ganduje's Suspension and Legal Challenges

The political atmosphere within the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is marked by controversy following the recent suspension of party chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. Initially suspended by APC executives in his local Dawakin Tofa ward on April 16 due to allegations of corruption, the suspension was quickly nullified by both the State and National Working Committees of the APC.
Some members of the APC have pointed fingers at Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State and leader of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party (NNPP), accusing him of orchestrating Ganduje’s troubles as part of a broader scheme to infiltrate the APC and vie for its national chairmanship.
