As someone with zero experience with woodwork who's trying to make a box from scratch this video was just what I needed. Too many seem to think you have a whole woodwork shop at your disposal. Cheers
Love it, a video with the basic hand tools that almost anyone has. I love watching woodworking videos, but the amount of very specific tools precludes me from doing them. Subscribed and will watch all of your previous ones! Thank you. (And the bloopers made me laugh out loud!)
Thanks for you comment mate ! I really appreciate that ! My aim is to try and do videos for people at all ends of the spectrum ! If there is anything you would like me to do a video on please feel free to ask mate ! Thanks for the sub and I hope to keep you entertained !
I've been looking for a vid like this for a few days now as I need to do exactly this, but with the kind of tools most people have around the house. Ta very much.
Hi buddy just I used double sided tape to hold it for the purpose of the video, generally it would be on something larger and wouldn’t need fixing in place, just didn’t want it sliding around for the video. Thanks for you comment.
In a nut shell yes, practice practice practice, although saying that you can buy things called centre drill bits sets that will help no end with this. I have added a link to a set in the description of this video for you if you wish to buy some. These really helped me when I first started! Hope that helps.
@@LTWCarpentry cheers, I'll have a look if I'm still struggling. Once again great video, informative for a beginner without being patronising. Good stuff
Thank you for this very simple and informative video. A question, please. Would I get away with chiselling out the mortise to attach a front to a rabbit hutch long wise metal grilled with a wooden surround opening panel? Its sturdy pine, an older one kept dry indoors? Many thanks
Sorry I meant will I need to put a mortise in with the chisel for a hutch front attachment from the one side edge with two way hinges, as you are using or can I skip this process? It's not heavy and I will be installing 2 hinges at the one side so the hutch front swings open and closed on the left hand side? Thank you
I just repainted a small jelly cabinet. Never have done this before. So .... I'm wondering about the hinges which I removed before painting. Open a hinge one way and both sides will lie flat, open the other way and the sides will sit at right angles. Does it matter which way the hinge faces? Or is it a choice?
Yep and that little tip right there about placement of your hand..lol, tho not so funny it's just something I do a lot, my hands are covered in scars and wounds from dumb little mistakes like that, you'd think one would learn theyre lesson, I guess not me.
I have a ? I installed my henges on a aluminum screen door.but my door only want to open halfway.i make it open the rest of the way. What do I need to do. Or undue please
Without seeing the hinges I would only be guess, may I suggest following my Instagram @ltwcarpentry and sending me some images in there so I can help you ? Thanks for your comment.
Thank for the comment buddy ! Glad I could help you out ! Can’t keep everyone happy mate, as long as I’m helping more then getting disliked I’m happy ! You need any help with anything else let me know dude ! 🤘
6:40 There's a wide gap between the wood planks whether in open or in closed position. I don't think this is the proper way to do it, unless of course it's how you wanted it.
Thanks for the comment, this is in fact how you would want this to look, if you have a look around a closed you should see (if installed correctly) a nice 2/3mm gap all the way round it.

No problem at all, that’s primarily why I made it, glad I could help !
Totally agree, more of a show off than tutorial 😂
Finally someone showing the way within my available budget and tools.
Glad I could help buddy, if you want any help with anything else please feel free to ask, I’ll be happy to make a video to help you.

Thank you for video! Greetings from Ukraine!
Thank you very much !
Love the bloopers 😂🫶❤️
Cheers mate 😂
just wondering what you are using to hold the wood in place. Surely if you don't hold it somehow it would just move when you try to chisel it.

BINGO!!! I am just trying to build a box... NOT a house. Simple and Easy to follow
Cheers buddy ! I’ve also done one on how to install hinges with a router that may help also.

Any tips on getting my screws flush? Mine always seem to end up at a slight angle or is it just a case of practicing.

I’m terrible sorry but I’m not sure I understand what you mean?
Instal them flat when door closed
Can we install them without any gap between wood pieces?
You can indeed, all you need to do is chop the leaves in slightly deeper
@@LTWCarpentry thaks a lot buddy... Will surely try it
Let me know how you get on… any probs feel free to get back in touch.

Nice video👍 quick question, why didn't you pre cut the long edge of the hinge with the chisel as you did the two ends?
I did mate, maybe I did it a little to quickly and didn’t emphasise on it enough, thanks for the support
