Back in 1987 I was in high school and our baseball team was picked to be the ground crew. We would get the field ready after every take of baseball action. We met all the stars. It was amazing We even had to use Mr. Costner but the rest of the stars we called them by their first name.
I visited here with my family about 20 years ago. Such an amazing experience. They had a pitcher and people could take turns batting and were allowed five hits each. So surreal to be able to have a turn to hit balls in the same spot as such an iconic movie.
20:25 This guy just answered a question I've been wondering since I was a kid. I was always 50/50 on whether it was a real line of cars or some kind of special effect because it was shot from so high up. That is MIND BLOWING
Darn this was so amazing!!! Never would of thought to be able to tour here... And I just watched this on Saturday again for the umpteenth time lol Loved hearing it all, Thanks Jordan
That part really got me. I miss my dad everyday. To be able to play catch or go fishing I would give anything to be able to do that one last time with him.
During the argument between Ray (Kevin Costner) and his brother-in-law (Timothy Busfield), Ray‘s daughter got knocked off her seat and she ended up choking in a piece of the hot dog she was eating, Doc (Burt Lancaster) stepped out of the field to take care of the little girl, he saved her but as he “crossed the field’s line”, Doc could not return and play ball again.....heartbreaking 😭
My favorite movie. Important to me in my early sobriety. So much more then a baseball movie. Loved hearing the stories and history behind the magic. Thank you!
I can't believe I missed this one. I watched the new one and just had to watch this one. This was just a dream come true and the tour guide was amazing. I love your videos so much thank you, thank you, thank you.
Awesome vlog Jordan! So fun to see inside the house! Very passionate tour guide, even dressed for the part, great! Now I need to watch that movie again!
One of my favorite vlogs of yours and I love all of them! One of my top two favorite movies. The tour was so cool and in depth I’m going to have to take a trip myself. Thanks for sharing!!!
The white Sox and Yankees are playing in a field that is being built out past left field. Not on the actual field. My wife took me there in september for my birthday. Best day of my life as I never made it there with my dad before he passed.
I am happy MLB isn't using the real field to play that game. It would ruin that field forever because they would have to change it. However, it would have been cool if they played on the same land as in the movie.
It is still the same land. There will actually be a path through the corn from the stadium being built, right over to the field of dreams. They were starting the project when we were there.
Hi Jordan, I can't believe all that snow, I must say it does look beautiful though. What a very informative tour, imagine going through the film frame by frame to identify things. Fascinating, hearing all the behind the scenes information about the film. Great vlog Jordan.
The tour guide Craig was one of the best I've seen anywhere. It really doubled my enjoyment of the whole experience. I honestly thought I'd get a 5 min speech and let to roam around the house. This was about an hour experience.
Thank you, Jordan for filming the Field of Dreams house and the field. Loved the movie. Glad you got to see the inside of the house. All the behind the scenes about the house and everything was very interesting. It reminded me of different parts of the movie.
I stumbled across this, that is so cool that they are preserving everything. And I always wondered about that shot at the end of the movie myself. Because that was before computer animation and everything. Great, great video.
It's nice to see a reviewer of Iowa who takes in a broader perspective than Interstate 80 and flyovers. Thank you, Jordan! ... I took my sons to Dyersville after seeing the movie in Dubuque when it was first out in 1989. It was the coolest! The farmer came out and hit balls around with us and he had a small souvenir booth with t-shirts. This was of course before it attracting the hoards of visitors. It's a very special place.
Kevin gave a great farewell speech to Vin Scully when Vin retired, and the Dodgers won the world series in 1988. They have a lot planned on those fields. Great vlog thank you.
Wonderful episode at the “Field of Dreams” filming location in Dyersville, Iowa! WOW, the tour guide was terrific and you, Jordan, always have such enthusiasm & knowledges of the subject matter. VERY ENJOYABLE vlog! 🙏 Thank You!
Yes I agree good movie, thank you Jordan for the tour.....epic. I was also impressed that the house was "put" back together so people can see everything and that the tour guide is in the white sox uniform.
Oh, "Field of Dreams" is such a lovey movie. One of my favorites. I"m going to their website to see if I can get one of their coffee cups. Thanks for the vlog!
We are so glad you made it back. It was amazing while we were there in June. Another excellent vlog with an amazing view. Especially when you gave us the view going in and out of the corn field, something we could not do with R’s walker. You gave us a better tour we couldn’t do when we were there because of the crowd. Thanks for bringing back the memories of our recent trip.
Dwier Brown is in Firefly and I promise you I screamed with excitement. Its a 5 minute tv part. If you're the Dad from field of dreams and you're in Firefly then you're beyond made in my heart.
This was great Jordan! I'm a big fan of baseball and baseball movies and this is my number 1 baseball movie of all time! I watch Field of Dreams every year and don't tell me you did not shed a tear at the end when watching this film. I did. lol I'm a Yankees fan and cannot believe they are playing the White Sox this year there! I wish I can go to that game. lol
Whoa!!! I Love This Vlog and Movie!! I have always wanted to go there. This movie I cant say enough about. I Loved the relationship between Ray and Terrance Mann. The whole thing was magical! Cant wait til you go back when the corn is grown in!!
I used to live in Dubuque IA the next town over, they had plans to make 25 Baseball fields or some Ridiculous number! In the Summer they get Field Rental Business for Games BUT BIG DREAMERS totally unrealistic! Nice Vlog!
Welcome to Iowa Jordan glad you finally came to Fields of Dreams my husband and I went there a few years ago before the did the house tours the neighbors aren't happy about the building of the complex worried about the traffic and the farmers getting to there fields
Field of Dreams is in my top ten favorite movies of all time. It's the first time i can remember feeling like a movie had cast a spell on me and i got it. It wasn't till the end that i realized the movie had been made for ME (as well as others) as someone who lost their father at a young age (I was 3) this movie obviously spoke volumes to me. My favorite scene and the one that still gets me to this day even at the age of 54. Is after Ray meets young John and thety chat for a minute and Ray stops refering to him as john and calls him dad, by that point i am usually gone.
Here today. Crowded with people. Kids playing on the field. A lot of changes as compared to the vlog. But nice to compare your vlog to now. Glad you did the vlog before the changes. Corn is waist high so you can get the feeling of the movie. Thanks again for the ability to compare the area before the changes. Talked with Craig who you did this vlog with. He watched your vlog with me and said there will be a MLB game played here on Aug 11. He remembered you and the vlog.
All the years living in Iowa I have never been there!! How cool. I love the movie. Thank you for sharing. How did you like the weather?😉. Safe travels. Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤🦁
Yet another fantastic vlog. I have to admit, just like The Big Fish vlog - I have never seen this movie before but I now want to see it because your vlog makes it come “alive”! I loved Big Fish and I’ll bet this movie will also make me think of my old man - he loved this movie!
The build it and "they" will come motto was very appropriate when they built Tropicana Field here in St. Petersburg,FL. The city took a gamble and built the baseball stadium and it sat empty for years. MLB finally came calling and it is now the home stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays. Just for the record yes indeed it IS "he will come". I was wrong all these years too. :-)
I'm not into baseball we call it rounders here in Britain 🇬🇧 but I like my filming locations been to quite a few here in Britain but when they're out of the country I have to rely on UA-cam (because of financial needs) thank you for the upload I also didn't realise they used the interior of the farmhouse I always thought that was a set in a studio
You will enjoy it Robert. Check out the great movie Eight Men Out too from 1988. Starring John Cusack, D. B. Sweeney, Christopher Lloyd, etc. (which tells the story well about the 1919 Chicago White Sox scandal.)
@@rockingal9520 Those are great movies for sure too but I was just thinking about another movie about Shoeless Joe Jackson and how the 1919 White Sox cheated. It would be a great movie to watch also (Eight Men Out), since Field of Dreams talked about Shoeless Joe and what happened to him after that time.
It's sad when they destroy locations like this! They need to leave crap alone. The property is a HUGE tourist spot! I'm sure that's going to effect the tourists. As you said, the corn field was a huge part of it
Oh man loved it Jordan knew you would eventually do this for your love of baseball , seem to get a BBall vlog consistently. Keeping up on a great diversity of subjects is great !
Just saw an ABC news reel that the Yankees and White Sox will be playing a game at the Field of Dreams field on summer 2020. I probably already know this, if I missed it in your post I'm sorry. Just rented the movie again, not seen it in years. Forgot how much I liked it. Thanks again for your vlog.
The title of this vlog sure got my attention. I have watched Field Of Dreams a few times and would put it in my list as a classic. The gentleman that gave the tour was very informative. My two grand-daughters have been into baseball since T-Ball and continue to play to this day and their adults now. I would love to get a hold of the T-Shirt's for them. Thank you Jordan this made my day and with that being said you have a great day. Peace Out
💋What great movie! So glad you took us to the movie site. Loved baseball when I was a little girl. I had my Pete Rose baseball card. lol I can’t help that I still like him. But seriously that brings back great memories. Safe Travels. ~Love&Light💖Carli
Thank you so much Jordan! This is really a great movie I love very much. There are very much truths woven in concerning paranormal things and spirituality. It's a film you can watch more often than just one time. :)
Hope you have seen “Harvey” by now. Since you too are “oh so pleasant”. Nicely done. There is a great story behind Moonlight Graham up in Chisholm MN to vlog too some day.
Great vlog Jordan love watching your channel. Definitely going to watch the movie again I haven't seen it in a while. Hope you having a good time out traveling.

Yep…. The whole town helped with that scene.
OMG, Jordan, you were in my home state !!! The Chicago White Sox will be playing the New York Yankees on this field this summer ! Unbelievable !
Darn this was so amazing!!! Never would of thought to be able to tour here... And I just watched this on Saturday again for the umpteenth time lol Loved hearing it all, Thanks Jordan

What a sentimental visit. I need to watch this movie again. Another amazing vlog as usual. Thanks.
My favorite movie. Important to me in my early sobriety. So much more then a baseball movie. Loved hearing the stories and history behind the magic. Thank you!
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!! The tour guide was excellent, well versed and informed! And this was one of my favorite movies. Just a great volg, Jordan!
White sox were in the moment with their old timer uniforms but booh the Yankees.
Yankees had such terrible uniforms!
I can't believe I missed this one. I watched the new one and just had to watch this one. This was just a dream come true and the tour guide was amazing. I love your videos so much thank you, thank you, thank you.

Good to see you in my old home state! Love the movie, Field of Dreams". Super tour. Thanks, Jordan!
One of the best and informative vlogs ever!! Great job Jordan!! As always!
If you go back, early August is a great time. The corn is just the right height and the weather is great as well.

Did it happen, or was it cancelled due to the pandemic?
That was epic. They are doing another game next year too.
