If there is anything this month that you want to get, you should make a list of it all. Then at the end of the month you can go over it and see if you still actually want to get it, or if it was just an impulse at the time.

@@SamanthaD89 yep! If I ever make a hefty purchase (anything over $20 tbh) then I make for sure that I really want it. Eventually you'll be able to decipher between you genuinely liking an item & just an impulse reaction. It makes shopping a lot less stressful.
Most of my online shopping is adding a bunch of stuff to my wishlist or cart, then returning to it after a while to decide what I actually want. Most of the time I don't get a lot of it
I tend to impulse buy books... if any book interests me it still will in a couple weeks, if I can remember what it’s about (I always forget summaries of books right after reading them and just remember loving the idea)
I am doing a summer no buy and I legit am doing this already.. Though, its been on my list for a month now and I still want it.. Maybe I just need help xD

As soon as the norvina purple one came out I knew it would be in Angelika's anti haul. 😂
The Norvina palette is actually really nice and it only has 4 purples. I was completely not into this at all and saw another influencer demo it…and saw how the pics being shown, weren’t giving it any justice!! A lot of different looks can be created with it and especially since i got it in person yesterday…i see how beautiful it is and am really happy I got it!! I’m not a huge purple fan either and I truly love this!! The formulas on this big palette also are not like the other Norvina palettes…it’s much better
@@Goldie9899 Mel Thompson did a video on this w/demo & swatches. She highly recommended this palette & said it was GREAT quality (not like the other volumes) Everything blended very nicely.

I don’t understand why makeup brands produce makeup palettes and not hype them up. Wouldn’t hyping your stuff up make better profit?

It depends on the situation, but it is very expensive to market your product. Especially if you are a small brand against the big ones. For Colourpop they can have the privilege to not hype some of them, not only it might not be worth it for the amount of stock they ordered, but it helps their customers to stay alert and not just wait on a newsletter. (My marketing point)
Also: influencers are really really expensive and ig account such a Trend mood tends to make you pay a lot.. like a lot
Sending in PR is more of a loss as well.
So for small brands it is very very expensive
@@Panther888 I actually feel kind of betrayed when I'm on a brands list and they don't send out an email... How hard can that be? I'm on the list because I want updates...
I think a brand like colour pop has the privilege of having die hard fans that’ll buy their makeup and a surprise launch actually has everyone scrambling to buy it. When they market it in advance, people have the time to make up their mind whether they want it or not, idk if that made sense but as a person who did a little bit of fashion marketing, this is the explanation that I got as well 😅

Some UA-camrs do declutter videos without showing their makeup collection, only the products they’re getting rid of. So they do the decluttering thingy by their own and then film what they’re decluttering and why. It’s less overwhelming and I don’t think it’s as pressurising. It’s kind of a review at the same time, which I enjoy!

No buys are so great because if you don’t buy something you like when it comes out but still think about it weeks or months later you know for sure you really like it! Also, when you’re tempted by a new release you can try to ‘dupe’ it with what you have and it makes you realize how much you have in your collection.
Personally I love mirrors on palettes. I’m crazy blind without my glasses and even wearing my contacts, having a mirror that close to my eyes is really helpful. I understand that affects if the packaging can be recycled but those mirrors are a lifesaver.

I'm really happy that the product pictures stay up the entire time Angelika talks about them bc I have a terrible memory and could never remember what they looked like in her previous videos since the pictures were up for such a short time.
I don't want that new elf primer for the salicylic acid, but I AM going to be trying it out because I love the putty primer, and a touch if green in it will help balance out the redness I see on my face!

Since you're not comfortable with declutters maybe you could show us your makeup stash? Just as a whole, or maybe if you declutter things you could collect them in a basket and then show us in a video what you decided to throw away and why? I don't know, I guess It would be interesting if you showed us things and told us if you think that the formula is outdated or just decided it wasn't for you anymore. That way you wouldn't be showing us all of your blushes and "just a few" you decided to get rid of, bit random pieces of makeup that you don't enjoy. It would be like a "my own makeup collection antihaul" haha

I totally agree with you on the whole hydrating primer and skincare makeup thing but I think that those products are marketed towards people who don’t have a good skincare routine or don’t want one (however if you are one of those people I recommend you get a good skincare routine before you spend all your money on makeup that is supposed to target your skin issues because in the end actual skincare is going to help you more with your skins’ needs)

I agree with you with skincare in makeup being a no-go!! Another important reason is I already have skincare that my dermatologist recommended, and lots of ingredients cannot be combined!! For example, I have to avoid salicylic acid, so I couldn't buy that Elf primer!!!

As someone who loves makeup on a way smaller level I get that way you feel about declutter. Sometimes it's a random Tuesdays. Do I need 5 foundations as a normal person without a beauty channel no, is one dewy medium coverage, one matte high coverage one normal looking amd one a darker shade when I'm tan , yes . I love my collection. I spent money on it.
As someone who declutters at random times and in small quantities every once in a while, I completely understand where you're coming from

Used to love the tarte clay foundation, would like to see you try the new formula and/or a whole brand review, even though they’re not the most exciting makeup brand I actually really liked a lot of their products.

In defense of the big Norvina palette, (formula aside) it goes deeper than the original which I really appreciate! I had the original Norvina and I ended up giving it away because as someone who favors more dramatic looks it didn't do enough for me.
I feel like one of the few people who still likes big palettes. Quads bring me 0 joy because it's usually like okay transition, lid, outer corner, inner corner shimmer and you can only do one look with it. I play with makeup because I enjoy it, I never want a "one and done out the door" look 😅

I also love the concept of recyclable packaging but like where do you take it. you can't just take it in with your cans and bottles. I know that brand origins let you take in cosmetics containers for them to recycle but idk if they still do that. everything would just be better cardboard cuz that can dissolve and just be thrown in cardboard recycling.

I can agree and confirm that the formula is definitely not the best, I had trouble with my vol. 2, too, when filming the tutorial video... I love the colour story and I still occasionally wear it because of some unique colours, but blending is was a pain.

I took a chance on the Melt Brunet palette despite knowing about its inconsistencies, and omggggg I’m glad I did. If you don’t have neutrals like those it’s so worth it, the formula is great on this one.
Girl i know youre on a no-buy but tarte is having a 7 for $63 tomorrow and I think the amazonian clay foundation is one of the options! So basically paying $20 for 6 additional products (MANY full sized options to choose from in every category)
Mel Thompson did a video & eye look on this ABH Vol. 5 & said it was GREAT quality. She said it was NOT like the other volumes before this. The shadows were easy to blend & recommended highly. If you like this color story you might want to watch her video on this one. (Just fyi)

That bratz collection really disappointed me, I mean it just looks really lackluster and I hate when they choose to go the “neutrals/boring colors” route for really iconic brands and characters. It’s safe for them to do it I guess but we didn’t want safe 😔

I totally understand your thought on the Elf green primer. While I agree with you on it being "acne fighting", I have rosacea, so I was very excited to see a green putty primer. It would be great if it can help me cut down on the amount of coverage I have to pile on my face.
