Love your commentary! Am onto my 3rd cpu build. And yes, C knives should always be kept clean and germ free lol
I'm not putting icky germs into my body gross 🤣
The best setting is this:
Base clock at lowest stable voltage. Thisbapplies to all algorithms.
Enable xmp, always use 2 sticks of ram for randomx, on ghost rider use 1 stick. Saves power with no effect on hashrate.
Look on the box to find the base clock.
As a final note: i dont suggest overclocking unless you have a large farm and are solo mining.
I got 14 rigs atm and Im all about efficiency at .17 per Kwh. When the bull run comes you can bet Im gonna turn up the heat. :)
What kind of rigs do you have
I got 6 3900x...4 5900x...and 4 3950x pulling around 1500 watts with the current efficient bios settings.@@SalmanSaleem1985
What are you mining?
Zephr@@LankyBeamer
Base on my efficiency calculator when I was mining. It was always minus so I never gotten to it
Anytime you run out of paste you can always just spit on it. It’s totally fine, I used to do it all the time before the last house fire.
Toss a drive on each, and make each a SpaceMesh node. Sips power, and you can still CPU mine after drive plotted out.
Makes no sense to mine on Europe with current electricity prices...
3rd rig built. Now upto 34kh/s on random x algo. Not much by all you other guys’s but gotta start somewhere
I had to rewatch this in 1.5 speed, it made the coke joke even funnier 😂😂😂😂
I've experimented with CPU mining Monero back in 2021 with old office PCs, they didn't mine much but only used about 70 watts of power each. Both rigs ran Kubuntu and had a couple gigs of ram and HDD, one had a second gen i3 and the other had an Xeon E3-1245 V2, enough to get something set up and such. I stopped mining because it wasn't exactly profitable for me and it was just a learning experience to form my own opinion on mining. Another reason was because of savages on Reddit who got real angry at any mention of the word mining, not that I care, it's just disappointing. I think that if I set up another rig again I'd probably start with an older but more powerful and efficient CPU, and talk about it to open-minded individuals only.
Reddit is a cesspit
@@TechnicalsMatt Yeah, I had joined to get started on mining but I haven't used it since coming to the same conclusion.
Your manual spreadsheets on the bright colored paper with sharpie are the true sign of excellence. Panda uses newbie tools like Google Sheets.

I suggest getting a tube of artic mx5. Amazing coverage and performance.
"my cocaine knife" lol
the funny part is I actually use it to dose my creatine each morning so it has white residue all over it usually.
I’m just here for the commentary…so keep building.
You're the kind I really care about
That looks really cool i'm in the military so electricity is free but when i'm looking at the cost for the rigs even then I think its just better to buy the crypto and hold it. Its a big investment to buy a entire rig my buddy spend 5K on his GPU rig and hes been waiting for 10 months to break even.

Happy to be back, thanks!
Hey, if power is free, is there a way I could get a heap of old broken laptops, strip them apart and combine the guts from them into a manifold type system and run it as a mining rig?
Noice! Just build a 7900x3d but ordered a second 7900 non x as its super efficient. Have solar on the roof so summer time can turn up the heat ahaha
Can I mine on 7600x ????
@@Prince-ox5im u can mine on any cpu, just try it
@@Fate025 it's not about I can but how much profit i can make i checked today and damn I can make $1.49 daily profit by mining Bitoreum (BTRM) GhostRider💀
How much more efficient is the 7900 vs 7900x? I too am building one for solar and curious what the continuous watts are on your build.
@@designomatic the 7900 more efficient but u can have more hash from the 7900x.
Best is 7950x or 7950x3d
Isn't an AMD 7900 better for CPU mining over a 7900x?
Technicals building these rigs have become somewhat addictive. Dropping in a case with a 6700xt for some solo mining on top of the Zeph
They are just easy management man … say hello my little friend
What kind of cheap electricity tariffs do you all have so that you can operate these energy guzzlers?
A set of jumper cables connected to my neighbor's meter
Okay I was always skeptical of cpu mining and it doesn't last long 😅 but you convinced me I'll just build 1
Have fun! USE THE LINKS BELOW lol
The question about revenue or efficiency 9:37 there is some additional factor to that, which is the additional wear and tear to the hardware. Definitely do not use your rig with 300 watts consumption, you can be sure that rig or it's cpu will get killed sooner than you'd like. Just find the good middle balance there, where the hashes per watt are almost the best (almost = because little bit pushing doesn't hurt, just dont' overdo it). If I were you I would test also how the motherboard dynamic settings work, meaning, you dont set the voltages and such, but let the motherboard do it for you, that way you don't have constantly issues with motherboard settings if you decide go between different algorithms.
Great advice, i'll work it in
i hane 6 rings with 7900x.Best settings are.0.9mv-4.3all cores,76watt(software)-KINGSTON 5200 XPO,pbo disable.=14.5kh.I tried 6400-6000 kingston,patriot,trdent,not so goof efficiency
My 13700k cpu makes about $18Cdn/month and the Intel 770 graphics on the cpu makes about $3Cdn/month on NiceHash. That fluctuates wildly of course. (I have VERY cheap electricity.)
That first minute thirty was prefectly said👌
should be finishing up my 5900x build this weekend. Cost me about $500 for the hole build and will make more than some pretty good GPU's, but for much cheaper.
Snipe a good deal on used hardware?

@@TechnicalsMatt ahahahaha...next time
For comparison: I built 12 rigs, all with the same CPU - ryzen 3900 (non-x). They were paired with literally the cheapest B450-chipset-motherboard I could find - Asrock B450M-HDV (R 4.0). All the 3900s are clocked at 3.4 GHz, downvolted to the minimum stable voltage, ranging between 0.9 and 0.95 Vcore, depending on the board/cpu. I snatched the CPUs at a bargain price of about $175 here in Poland, all brand new, old stock. Motherboard was $62, RAM (16GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200 CL 16) was $37. Other accessories were about $50 (300W PicoPSU, USB pendrive, cables, etc), so alltogether about $324 per rig, at almost the same hashrate as the 5900(x). But of course, in your country, prices might be different.
glad U are back. Watched U back in the day. Im a OG watcher
Appreciate your watch minutes friend!
I have 3 xdell r630 with 24 core cpu. How can i use to mine?
Went through you parts list and was surprised that ive got the same ccoler, nvme and nvme enclosure lol. It seems some of the stuff i bought was right. Just cpu is the one i want but had to cut costs there on the first build.
You want some settings?
Lol no CPU mining is cheugy
Welcome back, are you going into any more gpu minning as well? You packed some weight, maybe it is the gpu's that can get you back on track :)
Dude I was a skinnyfat mess in 2019. 30%+. I'm closer to 20 now. If I look bigger it's from lean mass
Great video, learned alot. New to CPU builds. Is there a big difference with the DDR5 memory speed 6400MHz vs 5600MHz? Just curious how it would effect the setup/efficiency, or anythings else I might not know about yet.
6400 Mt is kinda over kill, 6000 is enough for a 7950x, just enable xmp and everything will be fine
The Phantom Spirit is a great choice I have one on a MicroCenter 7900x combo and its plenty good for this. If you have Micro Center you cannot beat their 7900x combo deal. I got it when it came with 64gb ram free but they still have it with 32gb.
Those processors are supposed to run hot so just let it buck!
Would water cooling make this more efficient cooling wise? CPU/GPU 120/240 Cooling for example?
Unless you're OC'ing heavily I don't see the point. The added cost, complexity, more things that could fail, etc. For the price of a liquid cooler get more RAM lol
@@TechnicalsMatt I'm thinking more along the lines of stability, noise pollution terms. I guess i didnt see the reflection of costs. Saying that, CPU mining with an $80 liquid cooler from the likes of Cooler Master or such...
do you have any videos on older am4 socket with Ryzen 9 3950X, you can get same numbers on it and cheaper build🤷♂
My 5900X but didn't do a vid on it
“He’s Canadian.” 😆 Geneva Convention!
A dollar a day is great, what coin were you mining in this video?
At the time zephyr
If only he put links to the usb thing and motherboard and cpu , I would buy it but I am to lazy to look , maybe open a Amazon link so you get money when I shop
Dude, everything is linked in the description. Everything
I have free electricity, but I'm not mining because I don't have good GPUs, and mining machines are banned here, so I will try mining with my core I7 12700
Great another reason to make PC parts hard to find.
6:13 There is a tiny power button for this, you buy 10 for a few cents, so you don't need the knife :D
I want to use the knife tho

Thinking about new rig/build - not sure about CPU (7900X vs 7950X vs 7950X3D)- your opinion?
hashes per watt on randomx + hashes per dollar favor the 7900
@@TechnicalsMatt just checked on rabid's calcualtor (7950 ~ 120, 7900 ~115 H/W) if looked right 🤔
what sample was used? i can only go off my results which are very light OC'ing

With a 170W TDP it's barely profitable for me. Only the CPU will use 127kw a month, considering I pay about 40 cents a kw. Is only the CPU energy costs about 51 euro a month. So not sure what those hashes bring in a day.
40cents? you live in germany? forget about mining dude in the usa people mine with their industrial electricity (cheaper electiricity for bussinesses) with about 8 cents/kw in germany electicity for small bussinesses is even more expensive.
Thanks. What motherboard did you end up getting

I would say it’s better to put that cpu in a gaming pc and when you’re not using it you can mine with it versus using it strictly for mining
I get it but, i don't do video games. at least not ones that need a good processor
8 months later ... 0.3 dollar / day .
3900x 6 months ago 0.5 dollar /day . today 0.2 dollar /day .
