    Looking forward to the episode on you playfield monitor mount, really curious about that one.

      Yeah there's a bunch of way to do this for sure. My 46" old school tv is really heavy so I'm gonna have to use a method that is strong. I'm looking forward to that one too cause I get to turn everything on and try it! Thanks for the watch!

    Nice, nice example, might do something similar for my homemade pinball project.

      @@wayofthewrench Thanks! I'm working on a complete "old school" pinball machine .
      I am planning on a laptop sized LCD in the backbox. I'm documenting most of my build on pinside and on my UA-cam channel

    Looking to build my own cab and an enjoying your series to far. Picking up lots of tips and tricks. I don't have a router, but I assume you can just use a jigsaw and some sanding and it be good enough? The router is really just making it cleaner and exact?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 роки тому

      Thanks dude, glad you're enjoying the channel! Yes you can just use the jigsaw and sand it out but it won't be perfect and will take forever. Maybe see if you can borrow one from a friend or buy a cheap used one, that way you can do the plastic play field trim and t molding too. Cheers!

      @@wayofthewrench Cool thanks. I'll ask around. I think I'll go with round speaker holes as I'm going to do the smaller 1:4 style DMD I think. I've watched most of your videos now, and I'm in sketch up! I already had a 4k 120hz monitor I'm going to use. Didn't want to go full wide body but I've had to go a touch wider than a standard body to fit it in

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 роки тому

      Cool! Just a heads up, if you go wider than standard youll have to make a custom lockdown bar. Unless you go widebody dimensions. I'd love to see your cabinet when your done! Good luck on your build.

      @@wayofthewrench Yep I think I'll probably 3d print my lockdown bar so I can size it how I need it! Thanks for all videos so much detail. Never done any woodwork before but wiling to give it a go!

    12:04 About your math…
    The divide by 2 and the multiply by 2 cancel each other out so you can just skip them. FWIW.

    Another great video - thanks. I haven't seen if you previously described or not how you plan to map buttons to usb? I see a number of options but some do not seem to be commercially available. Do you plan to map addressable LEDs or flashers? This is a pretty fun build for me and your videos are quite welcome and appreciated. I regularly share the links to your channel.

      Thanks Scott, I appreciate the support! I did talk about it in my parts video but not really in depth for how to hook up yet. The budget build plan is to use the Virtuapin plunger kit that has a kl25z board. Using their controller software, I should be able to connect the buttons, analog plunger, and nudging. Then dof will get installed and I will be using a teensy/octo combo to control the led addressible strips. Both of these topics will be at least 2 separate videos in the future.
      Hey Scott, thanks for sharing out the channel, it is crazy hard to be seen in a sea of other youtube videos so it's much appreciated. The only thing I can do is try to make the best videos I can possibly make and hope that someone watches them/tells their friends, otherwise I'm at the mercy of the algorithm and it's hard to compete with kitten videos and people burning money. Thanks for the watch, cheers!

      @@wayofthewrench I look forward to those great videos as well. I did watch a video Major Frenchy created using the Teensy/Octo combo (great video btw). One item of note, I think it needs to be 3.1 or 3.2 Teensy (not 4.0) and these are a bit hardy to find. I am waiting for mine before I can finish this part of the build. You are adding lots of value to UA-cam and no doubt your channel will continue to grow. Cheers for now

    Why not use a flush trim router bit with the guide bearing at the top of the bit to follow your template? You can then make your template to scale and attach it in the exact position with double sided template tape. The router rides on top of the template, the bearing rides the edge of the template and the cutting edge cuts your source material flush to that of your template. No offsets or math needed.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 роки тому +1

      Yup both work. I did your method last time for my arcade cabinet bezel. You need to spend some time making an accurate template by scroll saw/jig saw and a bunch of filing/sanding because your cutout will be an exact replica of this pocket. I wanted to show a different method this time and something that is quick and easy with just a table saw. Both methods work though for sure. Thanks for the watch DJ!

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 роки тому +1
