Why is there a wheelie bar installed on a fwd car?? car sounds well tuned by the way
it´s not a wheelie bar, it´s a traction bar ;)
+HardcoreOC so how will that put traction to the front if it's fitted on the rear? would it not just be easier put stiffer suspension on the rear so there's less body roll??

it gives the Front a preload so you reduce the wheelspin and you get some more traction, sry for my bad english

Boba, darf ich mal fragen was dir die rote leuchte im Armaturenbrett genaues anzeigt? Optimalen Schaltpunkt? Oder einfach nur das du im "roten Bereich" von der Drehzahl bist? Wenns zwecks Schaltpunkt ist, hast du dir das Ding selbst so eingestellt anhand von Drehmomentkennlinie und Drehzahlkennlinie des Getriebes oder wie funktioniert sowas?

Anymore info available on the DSG controller? Wanting to swap one in a MKIV GTI thats going to see some time attack events. We're tired of shredding/repairing 02J's.

Yes, there is a other purpose for that. When a fwd car launches, the car leans back which caused traction lose. with this bar they win a lot of time by helping the front to lean not over extremly.

Ich hab mal ne dringende Frage: Habt ihr euch irgendwie zusammengeschlossen (die gesamte VW-Fraktion) und seid nicht zu den Public Race Days nach Hockenheim gekommen? Wenn ja, habt ihr die Veranstaltung erfolgreich boykottiert. Mir als treuer Fan ist das zumindest aufgefallen.

+RaZZerC ja richtig, weil der frontriebler genau das gleiche machen will wie ein hecktriebler. Bloss das beim Heckantrieb die hintere achse die vordere überholen will u d beim front die voderachse sozusagen weg reisen will.
Weil es keine Wheeliebar ist sondern ne Tractionbar.
Mittlerweile fahren sau viele damit rum auf der Viertelmeile, Boba hatte damals auch eine am roten 2er.
Damit sich die Vorderräder nicht so entlasten können
Ja 2008 habe ich schon damit getestet. Ist schon lange her, damals zwar "nur" mit 600Ps aber es hat schon Vorteile gehabt. Mittlerweile sind die Autos um einiges schneller geworden. Es wird immer schwieriger die Leistung auf die Strecke zu bekommen. Da sind die Strecken in USA uns um Welten voraus, aber wie tun unser bestes auch hier in Deutschland schnell zu sein.
Ich frage mich immer wie lange das "Stock"-Material das aushält.
Das fragen wir uns auch mittlerweile, leider noch keinen Schaden gehabt um zu sehen wo die Schwachpunkte sind

because its not a wheelie bar, its a traction bar. in fwd cars you can have the problem that if you have to much power the front wheels can get of the ground a bit so you wont have grip
Yes because as the tires spin faster they expand in diameter and because of the lever law the car supports it on the traction bar an pushes itself back down because of the weight.

FWD's in america have moved away from these though, running low 8's on a small tyre with no traction bar, full interior, steel bodied, full glass etc.
idk how regular dsg is able to handle this amount of power

no, its a traction bar, they need it because of the high power, the car would make likr a wheelie without it because the front tires push the rear down

JUST CURIOUS TO KNOW WHY THE CAR STILL HAS THE STOCK REAR DRUM BREAKS. GUESS FOR WEIGHT REDUCTION BUT THE STOPPING POWER WOULD BE BETTER OF COURSE WITH A DISC BREAK SET UP ON THE CAR SINCE THIS CAR IS SO INSANELY FAST. I KNOW IT HAS A CHUTE BUT STILL
It is not for weight reduction. Disc brakes are lighter. It is more for safety, because car is very light at the rear
Also drum brakes actually usually have a greater swept area than disks so they can stop actually stop better for given a size. But drums just suck at heat dispersion, which the the primary advantage of disks, they have far better heat dissipation characteristics. In drag racing where braking times are minimal, drums are fine. Road racing, not so much.

take the rear bars off. see what it will run. Hondas in the states already low 8's and VW's high 8's no rear bars.
This car runs 8,4s with 800Hp and is the fastest FWD in europe. We don´t have the tracks and we don´t have 1800HP, like the Hondas ;)

Verdampft und zugevaped Ja ich weiß ich kenne die Autos dort und die heißen da aners als wir und sehen etwas anders aus. Die sind dort alle weit schneller wie wir hier in Europa. Aber es ging bei mir in der Überschrift nicht um den schnellsten FWD Antrieb, sondern wir haben allgemein das schnellste Auto mit DSG Antrieb auf der Welt, egal ob Allrad oder Frontantrieb.
